New HIGHLIGHTS/SHADOWS not as useful?

Maybe I'm showing my amateur-ness here, but I'm not getting as good a results w/ the new updated HIGHLIGHTS/SHADOWS brick.
I didn't use the old one much, but I liked the SHADOWS to merely bump up some shots (slightly) and I sometimes used HIGHLIGHTS when RECOVERY didn't get me quite there.
But the new one doesn't seem to give me much of any adjustment unless I'm near 50% on either slider. And then it's fairly drastic. Not the "incrimental" nudges I got used to on the previous versions.
Anyone else noticing this?

Yes. I didn't take kindly to the change. There are posts here on how to make the old Brick available (Léonie has made it easy for you) -- I have assigned it to a keyboard shortcut.
That said, the new Brick is more useful than I first thought. Like you, I was used to the _scale_ of the sliders in the old Brick, and shocked to find that what I had internalized as "enough" had become "not visible".
You have to train your mouse-hand with the new Brick's sliders as a totally new Brick, not as a modified version of the old Brick. Now that I am comfortable with the scale (and the variation within the scale, as you point out), the new Brick is nowhere near as useless (and offensive for this) as I first judged it to be.
I still would like to have ready access to the old "Width" sliders, however.
Do us a favor and leave the orchard keepers a note asking for an improved or merged H & S Brick: "Aperture➞Provide Aperture Feedback".
OT: "Amateur" only recently became a term of denigration. The change seems to be part of the corporatization of public life. I am an amateur, as proud of that as of my professional accomplishments.

Log into your account and review/verify your payment method. On the iPod go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores>Apple ID>View Apple ID.

Newly created index not being used

Hello friends,
I am observing that a newly created index on a z table with mandt & a new field is not being used. I have already rebuild index & updated stats for table.
when we query on this table with where clause having same 2 fields mandt & other.. we expected this index to be used. This table is very large. What more i can do now ?
In trace/SQL session, we can see it is going full table scan.. and takes very long time.
this new field contain no data as of now for all existing rows. Is this the reason ? or sometihng else ?

Hi,
with this WHERE clause, both columns just one distinct value, the Full Table Scan is indded the best approach, beside
the point you only need a check to evaluate a value is NOT in the result.
In this case you should HINT the statement to the new index, because the DB will always assume that this index is non-selective.

Create new highlight box style in Captivate 7 Video Demo to use in multiple cpvc files

Hi,
Is it possible to create and then save a new Highlight Box style that can be used in multiple projects, when editing video demos in Catpivate 7? I can Create a new style by saving, but when I open another .cpvc file it is not available and I can't find a way to reuse/import.
Any ideas? I'm sure I'm making a stupid mistake somewhere.

My brand-new iPod touch (5th Gen) battery takes a very long time to fully charge, even while not in use. Why is this and what should I do?

Just recently bought a brand-new iPod touch, 5th generation. To be exact, got it two days ago, this past Saturday, on 12/13/2014. Initially, when I first turned it on, it had a fully charge and I didn't need to charge it. I also didn't see anything in the very small and limited start-up guide you receive with it to charge it for a certain amount of time before use, or to use it until the battery dies, then charge all the way, like a lot of electronic devices have you do when you first purchase them.
So I was assuming I didn't need to do anything like that. First question, should I have charged it for a period of time before use? Should I have used it until the battery died, then plugged it in and charged it fully before use? Or is none of this necessary initially and iPod batteries are good to go from the start?
Please excuse me if this is an obvious question, as this is my first ever iPod. Anyways,like I said, nothing in the "instructions" said anything about that, so I didn't do it, I just used it until it got below 20% battery left, then I plugged it in.
Now for the battery itself, it takes literally a day or so to fully charge, even while not in use. Even if I use it for a while, turn off the iPod to make sure it shuts off all background data and apps, and then plug it in to charge, it still charges extremely slowly. I've never seen a device take this long to charge. As for the battery life itself, I'd say at full charge it lasts about 4-5 hrs, maybe 6, and then I have to charge it again. Meanwhile it takes around 24 hours, without me using it, to fully charge. If I use it while its charging, the battery decreases faster than it charges, and eventually I'll get the typical "20% battery remaining" message pop up.
I know it is charging, as the lightning symbol is next to the battery symbol. Specifically, right now, I plugged it in about 1 hr 30 minutes ago, and it has barely gone up. Also, whenever I press the home button to check the battery, I can see it jump down from about 50% to somewhere around 25%-30%. What is that about?
This is really frustrating, and I'm seriously contemplating either taking it back and trying my luck with a different iPod, or just taking it back and getting my money back. Any help and clarification on this matter would be greatly appreciated, and I'll answer any questions I can to shed more light on this.

Not able to create new e-mail on N8 using Mail for Exchange.

When creating reply on mail the application crashes. When creating new mail it says "Kan bewerking niet uitvoeren" in english: "Unable to execute action".
Any idea why creating mail is not possible?

First, I would try the following suggested steps for when you don't see content in iTunes after updating:
Quit iTunes.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes.
Use the Finder (Mac) or Windows Explorer (Windows) to go to the iTunes folder that contains the iTunes library files:
Mac OS X
/Users/username/Music/iTunes/
Microsoft Windows Windows XP and Windows 2000
\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\
Microsoft Windows Windows Vista and Windows 7
\Users\username\Music\iTunes\
Drag the iTunes Library file from the above location to the Desktop.
Open the Previous iTunes Libraries folder in the iTunes folder.
Locate the file named iTunes Library YYYY-MM-DD where YYYY-MM-DD is the date you upgraded iTunes (Year-Month-Day).
Drag this file to the iTunes folder (the enclosing folder).
Rename this file to iTunes Library.
Open iTunes.
You should now see your missing content in iTunes.

Either how do I locate it, and I've tried every trick I know, or how do I restore all of my songs from one of two sources. I have my old hard drive backedup on an external drive which should have all of my songs, and I have most of my songs on my old iPhone 3S which I'm using as a backup iPod.

The "missing file" error happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, one of its parent folders, or the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout, or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place. In the case of a library moved from one system to another there are also potential permissions issues. See Repair security permissions for iTunes for Windows.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to Get Info, then click No when asked to try to locate the track. (Due to a bug in iTunes 12 you currently have to say No twice!) Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, a folder renamed, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions. If the difference between the two paths is an additional Music folder in one path then this is a layout issue. I can explain further if that is the case.
In some cases iTunes may be able to repair itself if you go through the same steps with Get Info but this time click Locate and browse to the lost track. It may then offer to attempt to automatically fix other broken links.
If another application like Windows Media Player has moved/renamed the files then the chances are that subtle differences in naming strategies will make it hard to restore the media to the precise path that iTunes is expecting. In such cases, as long as the missing files can be found somewhere, you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes. See this post for an explanation of how it works.
