New HP 110-010ea PC with Windows 8 - & Xerox DocuPrint 12 laser printer which won't print

I had one reply via the forum, which wasnt good news.  Although my Xerox printer is 13 years old it has never gone wrong and I really need to continue using it.  I was told that I could, but so far no joy.
Any help would be much appreciated please.

I do not see the DocuPrint 12 listed as being supported.
Here is a link to" DocuPrint Support and Drivrers" click here.
This page states they will not be developing new drivers for this model.
You could try running"MS  Fixit" click here  to see is Microsoft has a driver that could be used.

    The problem is not the router.. the issue is the vpn has put your computer in a different IP range with a different gateway. When you turn off the vpn the computer returns to local lan and can print.
    Some vpn software allows you to set gateway to use local net instead of remote gateway or access to other webistes or local lan.
    Read up the issue.

    I did not search much.. just grabbed the first article I could find that explains the issue.
    The whole point of the vpn is whilst it is connected your computer is NOT part of the Local Lan .. it is part of the Remote LAN via the vpn tunnel.
    It is also a security risk using split tunnelling so often it will not be allowed.
    Plug the printer directly into the computer via usb or whatever.. Local connection will work.. not local lan.

  • I have tried everything to get my new ipod nano to work with Windows 8.  Do I need to install new drivers or what?

    Got a ipod nano for Christmas.  Installed already bought tunes on it with my computer at the time which was running Vista OS. Had to buy a new computer in March with Windows 8.  Did not buy any songs until April 29th or so...but they will not show in my ipod nano.  Talked with a tech and he got my songs into the new computer.  However, after we hung up, I tried to download the 2 new songs into my ipod and it would not do it.  I noticed that the "cloud" icon was not by any of the songs - only the word: downloaded.  I am thinking that since this is a 64 bit computer that I need to do something else, but don't know what.  Can you help me?  Thank you

    So you have tried a different USB sync cable and as well as plugging it into all the USB ports on your system?  Did you try removing all other USB peripherals (excluding keyboard and mouse if necessary) to see if that did any good?
    What happens if you connect it to another PC or Mac?

    Technically acrobat 7 not not designed for windows 7 OS. You can try to install the pdf printer manually but it's not guaranteed :
    Click the Windows "Start" menu, select "Control Panel," choose "Hardware and Sound," click the "Add a Printer" link under Devices and Printers.
    Click "Next" and select "Local Printer Attached to This Computer."
    Remove the check from "Automatically Detect and Install My Plug and Play Printer" and click "Next."
    Select "My Documents\\*.pdf (Adobe PDF)" in the port selection drop-down menu and click "Next."
    Select the "Have Disk" option and click the "Browse" button to open a dialog box.
    Select the "AdobePDF.inf" file located in the AdobePDF folder in your Program Files directory under "Adobe" | "Acrobat 9.0" | "Acrobat" | "Xtras."
    Select the first item on the list of Adobe PDF Converter options and click "Next."
    Type "Adobe PDF" in the field for a printer name and click "Next."
    Wait for two minutes for the system to process the drivers and click "Finish" to close the Add a Printer wizard.

    I'm seriously consideirng buying a new 13" MBA for work (which requires Windows) but want to make sure they "play nice" before I make the plunge. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

    I just thought I'd chime in! I have loaded Parallels 6 to run Windows 7 on my MacBook Pro. I had 4 GB of RAM on my MBP and found I would get some pretty slow performance when running Parallels. It all depended what I was doing. I used Office 2007 alot and Visual Studio.
    I upgraded to 8 GB of RAM and it was the best Mac decision I've made since buying my MBP. I bought it from an eBay store for $120 and installed it myself... unbelievable difference!
    I would like to ask, why are you choosing the MB Air? I have never really played with one but it seems very limiting - not upgradeable, basically no ports, no CD ROM.
    For the same money, you can get a MUCH more powerful MBP. The MBP is pretty thin and light-weight anyway. I'm just curious what the niche for MBAs is.
    Good luck with your Mac purchases... any Mac is a good Mac!

    I am looking at getting the new Aluminium Macbook 2.0GHz. I am wanting to also run Windows Vista with Parallels. Will this machine handle running Leopard and Vista at the same time without any problems?

    I run leopard + Xp at the same time, and Xp starts up in just about 13 seconds (pretty quickly), and it works pretty good for what i needed it for (not games, if you want games do it through bootcamp). Anyways answering your question it should work properly except i sugget having 4 GB RAM and not expecting to be the fastest machine running vista since some of the resources will be used in leopard (but you should be fine anyways)

    Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
    Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

    Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

    Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
    Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
    (If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
    Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, does your device connect without that message now?

  • New MBP 17 inch Problems with Windows Vista, and BF 2142

    Hello!
    So I just have 2 little issues that bug the **** out of me. OSX runs flawless. I love it.. But I use Vista to run Battlefield 2142.
    So my first issue is the microphone. If I go to close the lid of the MBP, I get feedback from the speakers, and microphone. Even though I have the microphone on mute for Vista, it doesn't mute the microphone all the way.
    If I Hook up a headphone to the output jack I can close the lid since it disables the MBP speakers.. But all my tapping and grunting can be heard via the heaphones.
    Does anyone know if there is a fix? Or why the **** Vista isn't muting the device properly?
    Now my other issue is Battlefield 2142.
    I can get it running only when I have a External monitor plugged into the MBP, and the Lid is closed.
    If I try to run Battlefield 2142 without a external monitor, and using the Display of the MBP, it crashes.. I have tried a ton of different Resolutions, and it is always the same story each time.
    If anyone else has had these issues, and has found a solution, please share.

    P.S Oh, another thing. I have a Quad G5 that I run Logic Pro on. It came out right before the Intel Mac Pro machines. If I sold the G5, and and used this new Macbook Pro, would the Macbook Pro that I now have perform better than my older G5 in Logic Pro?

  • New ipod does not sync with Windows

    Just bought an a 30gb ipod. I imported my old "Creative" mp3s into Itunes 7. When I connect the iPod it displays "Do Not Disconnect".
    It's showing in iTunes and when I clicked on SYNC iPod I got a message that certain tracks couldn't be copied as they weren't found (101 to be precise).
    In fact it's not copied any music to the ipod at all.
    And how long should I leave it before I disconnect it???
    Any ideas?

    Might be worth tearing down the whole iTunes install and starting over...
    Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
    Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
    Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
    See also HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP or HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
    Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    and paste into:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
    The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

  • HP with window 8 Office 2010 and HP printer

    I was replacing ink cartridges in printer   (hp 6600)   when printing problem happened.  [ I can get successful self  test of printer off line.   Computer is  HP   1 year old)     BUT
    have a document  in  "Word  2010"  that is trying to be deleted.   But has frozen the print process.   I cannot get it to cancel or complete deleting.   I get a Black box  (top right of screen) 
    that says printer fails.   and says  printer is  "out of ink"  but self tests with new ink  proves printer is OK.    HOW can I get things going again.  does any one have a simple fix?  I', not
    expert.

    Do you have other printers? If so, please try to print this document to another printer to check if it prints properly.

  • My Hp touch smart with Windows 7 premium randomly loses all printer drivers.

    My new system will Randomly drop all  printers.   I don't think it matters if its wired or wireless through the router.  when I  try to print it says that there is no printer installed.   When I go and look in the control panel there are no drivers there.   Sometimes I can close the program (usually quickbooks) ,and when I reopen the software it will work fine.  Other times I have to close everything and reboot.   Often I will have printed something just a few minutes before with no problems and then all of a sudden nothing.  I don't have time to shut down the computer and restart it every third time I want to print something.   I don't know how the drivers disappear from the controll panel an suddenly reappear on restart.  I have also had an error that there was no printer spooler whenI tried to reinstall after tehy were lost the first couple of times.

    just to verify.   My main printer is connected by USB to my computer and the driver still disappears when this problem occurs.
