New hp Office Jet Pro 8500 A910 will not take printing from computer to printer

My new HP Office Jet Pro 8500 A910

Hi Acepvteye,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that you cannot print with your HP Officejet pro 8500 A910, and I am happy to help you with this
issue!
For further assistance, I will need to know:
If the printer is connected, Wireless, or USB.
If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the printer is able to make copies by itself.
If the power cable plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
Hope to hear from you, and thank you for posting!

  • Office Jet Pro 8500 Offline Will Not Print

Please help! I cannot get my Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless to print. I have had this printer since early September and have not gotten it to work wirelessly on my laptop with the exception of using the USB configuration.
I have a Dell laptop that I had issues in the begining to recognize the printer, but it does now. But when I go to print I get an error message that the printer is "offline" and I'll get another error message  "document failed to print". I have made sure that the printer is on line by going through the control panel, printers etc sequence. I have shut off the printer and unplugged the router, too which is a Linksys WRT350N Wireless N. But to no avail. I  have a Dell desktop which is wired through the router works fine as does two other wireless laptops which are HP and a Sony Vaio which print wireless. The latter two running Vista, while the Dell laptop in questions runs XP Professional and the Dell desktop runs XP. I have the same issue with a HP C4500 wireless which works fine with all the computers in my home except the Dell laptop. Any help is appreciated.
    Sincerely,
    DeeDubb

Yes that is your problem.  VPN will not allow any network device attachment, including printers, while VPN is active.

    Moe,
This is a fix - you need to update the printer software with the new Full Feature Software for Windows 8.1:
HP Officejet Pro 8500 Premier All-in-One Printer - A909n Drivers
Be sure to take a look at the other documentation available for your printer.

I have been sent a solution by hp and everything is okay until checking step d , and there is no communication between printer and computer. What is the solution to fixing this. I am running windows 7 and using an ethernet cable.

    Hi ellie_dilly,
I'd like to help.  Can you answer some questions?
Can you print a Printer Status Report from the printer controls by going to: Setup / Reports / Printer Status Report and give me the Product # for the printer?
Can you give me the steps you took, with as much detail as possible, to uninstall the printer?
Are you using a disk or download for the install?
Also, remember a click on the Kudos star to the left is a quick "Thanks" for a helpful post.

All of a sudden I can no longer print yellow.  I changed the cartridge and cleaned the heads several times.  Diagnostics says the heads are clean.

    Hi Nort504,
I understand you are having an issue with one of the colors printing on your Officejet 8500.
If you have already followed the troubleshooting document provided above by pcwizard, I suggest contacting HP's Technical Support to see if they have any other options for you, as the end of the guide is suggesting replacing the printhead or unit itself.
Here is the link you will need to find the correct phone number for your region: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

  • Software Problem with the HP Office Jet Pro 8500 A910

    Hi Guys
    I'd like to know if
The HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910 is supported by the OS X Image Capture Application?
I don't find a MacBook Pro software for this Printer. It is a Multifunctional Printer what prints, scans and also fax !
Now i'll try to scan with the PDFScanner from The Mac App Store.
Do you think it will work with this Printer?
    Please help me
    Yours,
    Felix

Hi @Curved , and welcome to the HP Forums!
I see you're having issues with your ink output. I'd like to help!
I would recommend removing the cartridges, and performing a power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would also suggest following the steps laid out in this document:
Fixing Print Quality Problems for the HP Officejet Pro 8500A e-All-in-One Printer Series
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
Sorry to hear that you are having some issues when it comes to printing anything in green.  I see that you have also attempted some steps in cleaning the printer.  I am going to give you a document that gives great detail in troubleshooting Print quality / Defective printouts.  This link has different documents that deal with print quality issues.
One other thing that could be affecting the Ink Delivery System is how you have the power cable connected. If you have it connected to a power bar/strip, please remove it and connect it directly to a wall outlet.  Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for all HP products in general.  Please click the link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
Please write me back if you are still having issues or if you have additional questions.
I look forward to hearing from you but if it is not today, I hope you have a Fantastic Tuesday.

  • I have a hp office jet 6600. It will not wake up to receive e-print.

I just bought a office Jett 6600. It will only recieve E-print when it is awake. The print will not wake up to receive eprint. Not much good if i am traveling. <script id="JSScriptForDynamicControls" type="text/javascript" src="https://www.billeo.com/page/js/amex/insitedominspector.js"></script>

I would make sure printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet. I would also make sure that printer had latest firmware update.

  • HP Office Jet Pro 8500 A910 using ink too fast, black missing intermittingly

If the XP Experts can help me, I'll be eternally grateful.
I've only printed a total of 932 pages from my printer that was purchased nearly two years ago in June of 2012. The yellow cartridge ran out a couple of months ago, so I replaced that ink cartridge (with genuine HP 940 XL) and printing has been an issue ever since.
At first, the black was very faint and there were lines through all of the colors on a test page, so I went through the print head alignment and print head cleaning procedures and then seeing that the levels were low on the other inks, I replaced those cartridges as well. I cleaned and aligned, and cleaned and aligned, resulting in the creation of the about 30 of the total of 932 pages that were printed. I did the printhead cleaning procedure, removing the printhead, etc. as recommended in the forum and it did nothing. I haven't moved the printer and I have it plugged into a dedicated outlet (not a power strip).
I gave up on it and used my faithful, B&W stand-by Samsung laser printer in the meantime.
Then one day, a couple of weeks ago, I decided to try to print again from the HP. It worked! It was a miracle, but it didn't last. It printed a couple of pages correctly, then it printed very faint colors and I got a message that my yellow cartridge needed to be replaced. WHAT! I had replaced it with an XL cartridge only about 30 pages ago. Really? The original cartridges lasted for nearly 900 pages.
So, I dutifully bought new ink and replaced the yellow cartridge. Still not printing with deep enough colors. I noticed that the other cartridges, except for black were very low, so I replaced them as well. That seemed to do it. I printed a perfect page right after!!! However, my excitment was short lived as the next page I attempted to print failed to show any black. I cleaned and aligned the printheads, and even replaced the black cartridge even though it was still half full. Still not able to print. The test page that I printed that shows the number of pages printed in magenta.
I don't know what to do now. Probably need to replace the printer, which is a pretty crappy solution. The warrenties should be based on the number of pages printed rather than the purchase date.
If the XP Experts can help me, I'll be eternally grateful.

Hum. I'm not surprised that this advice, but I am extremely disappointed in HP. This is my 2nd inkjet printer from HP and up until this printhead issue, I was very satisfied.
I wish I hadn't invested so much in ink (two sets of XL cartridges) trying to get this printer to work. Does a bad printhead explain why the ink was used up after 30 pages? I don't know where the ink went, because the test pages didn't have much on them. High capacity ink cartridges are a joke. Twice as many pages, really?
Based on the numerous problems with printheads as evidenced by other forum posters, I think it would be foolish to spend another dime on this printer. 930 pages and I need a new printhead is unacceptable. I  will search for a replacement printer, and not necessarily HP.
If another expert has a solution, like HP extending my warranty or providing me with a free printhead, or providing me with a special rebate, I want to hear from you!

  • Can't print from I tunes on my new HP Office Jet Pro 8500 A909.

My laptop has Windows XP SP3 32-bit and no recent changes have been made to it other than installing the new printer.  When I try to print a CD Jewel Case label from Itunes, my printer recognizes the request, but simply beeps and then does not print.  After I cancelled spooling and started printing directly to the computer, it started printing the left side of the song list, but that's it.  No error messages have been received.  I would appreciate any suggestions anyone might have.

If your router supports dual band broadcasting 5Ghz and 2.4 Ghz, log into your router and look at the two wireless profile names. The names (SSID) should be changed so that they are different from each other for each band 5 and 2.4. Also if the SSID is the default SSID that ships with the router, change it to a unique name as a neighbor within range may have the same SSID. Rename to "my unique SSID" and connect the printer to the new network name "my unique SSID" as example. If you need further assistance, list the exact model of your router
