NEW HP Pavilion 500-205t CTO Desktop PCComputer not loading Windows 7

For a year and a half, I had an HP pc that wouldn't load Windows 7 properly.  I finally had enough and bought ANOTHER pc and it was delivered YESTERDAY.  After spending $500 on a new tower, but before I added my printer or loaded any of programs or favorites on it, I discovered that this PC has the same issue!!! Now, I'm even more frustrated than before. 
If I leave the pc without shutting it down, and press on any key or move the mouse to wake it up later, the only thing I have is the desktop picture.  There are no icons, no way to do anything.  Using control/alt/delete just gives me a blank screen. 
I have to shut down with the power button, hold in until the screen says it's going to sleep, then push the power button back on.  If I choose boot normally,it goes to the Windows logo screen, then it totally bypasses the "Welcome" screen (showing Windows Home Edition) and goes directly to the desktop.  No icons appear and I have to repeat the first couple of steps and choose boot in safe mode or safe mode with networking.  Then, I can shut down and restart and hold my breath until I see Windows 7 loading.
Originally, on my other pc, I thought it was the software itself.  I ended up taking everything off my computer, saving to  flash drives, and restoring back to the original state.  This didn't help.  I don't know if it was a hardware problem or a software problem, but the same issue came with this new unit.
Can someone offer me guidance?  I have always loved HP and have a laptop, two desktops, an all-in-one printer, and two  laser printers, all HP.  However, this can certainly change real fast if I can't find a fix for this issue.  (I ran  HP's  trouble shooter, but it didn't give me any information.)

To begin, I recommend following this document on Computer Does Not Start (Windows 7). The sub-section you will need to click on is for Standard Steps to resolve most startup problems. This should help with the startup proccess of when your computer boots into Windows. The next step I would suggest would be to ensure that all of your important Windows Updates are completed. This can be done by following this document on how to Install Windows updates in Windows 7.

    So I'm thinking about getting the Pavilion 500-205t, with the i5 4690 and 6 gigs of RAM (I don't really need any more than that for gaming anyway, which is what I'll be using it for).     You would be better off buying a Corsair CX500 or CX500 depending on your needs and the cost at time of purchase and the minimum power supply requirement stated by the graphics card manufacturer.

    In the Print dialog box, click Print Settings and verify the Paper Size you chose. This is important because the 3880 has three paper feeds (auto sheet feeder, rear manual feed, front manual feed). And for each major paper size you have to choose not only the size but also the correct feed. For example, if you want US Letter, choose US Letter, notice that this menu expands to five more US Letter paper size options, and choose the specific US Letter paper feed you want.
    If there is a mismatch between the paper size + feed combination you picked and the feed where the paper actually is, you can get the error that you're seeing. Because the Epson printer driver will look for the paper in a feed where there isn't any paper.
    So if you've added US Letter paper to the automatic paper tray, in Paper Size double-check that you chose the US Letter submenu command that says just US Letter, not one of the other options like US Letter (Manual - Front).

  • Can I back up files when my desktop will not load? Are they gone forever?

    My desktop will not load. I have used the Tiger restore disk that came with my Macbook Pro and used Disk Utility to verify disk permission, repair disk permissions, and verify disk and repair disk. I rebooted and it will still not load my desktop. I tried this twice.
    Is there anything else that I can do to copy some files off the mac, or should I just go ahead and reformat?

    It's not very clear what you mean by this: can you log in? Do you get the spinning rainbow wheel, or nothing? or does it go back to the login window?
    Is there anything else that I can do to copy some files off the mac, or should I just go ahead and reformat?
    If you have another Mac, as your profile seems to indicate, you could look at his: How to use FireWire target disk mode. That will allow you to rescue your files.

  • Creative Cloud Desktop App not loading certain pages

    Hello,
    The Creative Cloud Desktop app is not loading the Home, Files, and Fonts pages. The only thing I get is the loading graphic spinning away. I've tried signing out then in, quitting the app, restarting the machine, renaming the OPM file to old, tried turning File and Font sync off - which it doesn't seem to do, checked the internet connection without any difference. The Cloud status page says everything is good.
    I'm on an iMac running the GM of Mavericks. I've been running Mavericks beta for awhile and haven't had any trouble previously.
    Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get to those pages?

    Hi Mike,
    Does reinstalling the Creative Cloud app make any difference? There is an uninstaller in the Creative Cloud app folder in Applications. Also, does the same thing happen in a newly created admin account?

  • Desktop Site Not Loading Images or Accordian Menu

    I have exported my site files and uploaded them to my server in a folder and the Desktop version is not loading properly. There are a lot of pages, so I haven't reviewed them all just yet, but it appears that the mobile version is working fine. For the Desktop version though, the images aren't loading in both Firefox and Chrome. The accordion menu is also not loading properly and the parallax scrolling isn't working. It had worked when I had only loaded the Desktop portion of the site but now it is not. It is also throwing me the following errors:
    Asset C:\Users\CHRISTIE-PC\AppData\Local\Temp\InDesign Snippets\Snippet_308B7BE0B.idms was not exported because it was not found.

    I finally stumbled on a related forum post. It seems it was a permissions setting. I contacted my hosting company and they reset the permissions. I am however still receiving the errors referencing the snippets.

  • Indesign Folio Desktop Preview not loading/working?

    Hi, I'm trying to preview my Folio that I made in Indesign CC and the preview doesn't seem to be working.  I press the Preview on Desktop option, the loading bar window pops up with "Preparing Preview" :
    and then it goes away and nothing happens.  I've already installed and updated everything that I can find related to this issue including the DPS Desktop Tools for InDesign CC from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=5657&fileID=5661 and the Adobe AIR from http://get.adobe.com/air/
    Does anyone know how to get the preview to work for Indesign CC?  Thank's for your help!

    I was able to get the preview to work after unistalling Indesign and reinstalling.  Guess i'll never know what caused the problem in the first place but I just thought I'd post my solution incase anyone is having the same issue.

    The HP Support Assistant is part of the HP value added software and it will check on a schedule to determine if your PC needs updates.  Windows update and many commerical antivirus programs also run on a scheule.
    The computer industry spends millions and millions everyday to produce software, BIOS and firmware updates to not only correct problems but also to prevent rediscovery problems from occurring.  While you may not be experiencing a problem that is documented  by an update today it may trip you up big time tomorrow.

    This was slow out of the box which was a couple days ago. Yahoo.com takes a minute to load(comcast internet) Programs are just as slow. Everything about this desktop is slow. Any options to try or just return?

    Wireless or wired connection to your Comcast modem?  See the below image.  You can also try the network troubleshoot process.
    Try the following speed tests and post your results.  Compare the results to what speed that your Comcast subscription is supposed to deliver.

  • Overheating problem with NEW HP Pavilion 500-583no

    I bought a new computer less than a month ago, and the computer overheats all the time, because the fans run too slowly, CPU fan 62RPM and case fan 220RPM. Temperatures are always more than 140F/60c. Writing this, CPU temperature is 160F/71c. Where can I adjust the fan? In  BIOS I can't do anything.
     Specs:SYSTEM: Windows 10 Home 64bitCPU: AMD A8-6500 APU with Radeon HD Graphics BIOS version 80.03

    If those RPM's are actually "CPU fan 62RPM and case fan 220RPM", I would quit using the unit, and contact HP for an immediate replacing. Call  1-800-334-5144 .

    Open the Mac App Store and try downloading Yosemite. If you get told it's incompatible, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Xeon or Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) CPU and 2GB of RAM, and if it does, click here and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
    Back up your data and check your applications for compatibility before upgrading. In particular, Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC programs such as versions of Microsoft Office prior to 2008.

  • My new ipod nano appears on my desktop but not in iTunes

    Initially the setup of the iPod nano work perfectly on the iMac, it came up in iTunes and synced everything without a problem. I then plugged it into my Macbook Pro just to charge it and it came up in iTunes yet I never synced it.
    Later I went to sync music onto the nano from the iMac and it is appearing on my desktop, not in iTunes. I have tried reseting the computer, changing USB ports, restting the iPod and nothing has worked. What should I do??

    You need to put your iPod into Forced Disk Mode and restore it using iTunes.
    Try resetting your iPod by following these steps:
    1. toggle to hold switch on and then off again
    2. press the Menu and Center/Select buttons together until the screen goes black (should take no longer then 30 seconds)
    3. as soon as you see the Apple logo let up on the buttons and press down the Center/Select and Play/Pause buttons until a checkmark appears on the screen.
    4. connect your iPod to your computer and restore thru iTunes

  • HP Pavilion 500 PC computer case ports not working

    I left my computer on for about two weeks. Most likely it overheated the computer case. Yesterday, I decided to shut down the computer for it to update.Next morning I turn on the computer and my mouse and keyboard didn't work. I can turn on the power for my computer, but my computer doesn't respond to mouse and keyboard. The monitor also can't find the computer saying how there's no signal. I tried restarting the computer multiple times through the power button, unplugging the usb cords and the cord for the monitor multiple times and tested the mouse and keyboard on a different computer. When I connect my mouse to the computer it does not show the red optic light on the bottom, but it does and works on another computer. The keyboard also works on another computer. I tried taking out all of the cords off the computer case and taking of the power cord of it and waiting, putting the cords back in and trying again, but i did not work. I tried to go in BIOS, but I am not sure whether or not I am pressing the right key combination or because of the fact the computer is not responding to me pressing the keys on the computer. Also, before I shut down the computer I noticed the computer was reacting slow to me clicking and closing windows sometimes and I do not know if that would be related to the problem. I can't access my computer because it will not react to the monitor, mouse and keyboard. It worked fine when I kept it on and previously before when I shut it down.

    The little beep that should be occuring lets you know that your computer has completed the Power On Self Test or POST. This test is a basic test of all hardware. Usually if a component like the RAM has gone bad there will be a series of beeps that communicates what has gone bad. In my experience there are only two reasons why there would be no post code. The first would be that the power supply has gone bad, no power means no POST. However, your fan comes on, indicating that there is still power. Which means the second and far more severe case is more likely here. Your motherboard is most likely toast. I know that is the worst possible prognosis, but I think that it is accurate here. Sorry.

  • Using Win 7 64bit on desktop and laptop. OK on laptop; desktop does not load graphics in broswer with/without exts/addons. Any ideas?

    Browser loads text on page but not full graphics - some - sometimes; sometimes none. I use same search engine on both desktop and laptop. I've tried disabling add-ons and extensions but it makes no difference. As I didn't know which version of Shockwave Flash to install I've installed both!!!

    Thanks for this. I could not select Shockwave Flash 9.0.45.0 - but downloaded the uninstaller from Adobe which removed the newer Flash 11 version. I reopened Firefox in Safe Mode and yes, Flash 9 was still there. I ran the uninstaller again - after closing Firefox. It said that Flash was removed however when I reopened Firefox in Safe Mode - Flash 9 was still there - disabled - but there. Nothing appears in the Control Panel/Programs list. So how do I uninstall this older version?
    Graphics problem continues in Safe Mode.
    After reading: Flash 9.0 r28 and below: Your Windows list of installed programs may have an entry for "Adobe Flash Player ActiveX" but this will only remove the Flash Player for Internet Explorer and AOL. To completely remove Flash from your system, download the Flash uninstaller from Adobe.com. To remove Flash from Mozilla browsers only, delete these Flash plugin files from all locations. [17]
    I searched for but did not find:
    NPSWF32.dll
    flashplayer.xpt
    This sort of stuff is out of my comfort zone!

  • Blank Desktop, Applications not loading...Help!

    I have a G5, which is a couple of years old and until now has performed fine. However, I turned the computer on yesterday and the following occurs:
    - The Desktop has no icons (it just displays my background image)
    - No applications (including Finder) from the dock will open, except for System Preferences
    - The horizontal bar across the top of the screen is not displayed correctly
    - On restarting, the 'chime' no longer sounds
    I have been browsing the forums and seen a few people that have experienced very similar problems to me, but it is not clear what the final solution to the problem is.
    To make things worse, my hard drive back-up is not working, so I am a little frightened of anything happening to the important contents of my computer :-s
    If anyone has encountered this problem and can shed some light on how they cleared it up I would be eternally grateful!

    This may be helpful: Mac OS X 10.3, 10.4 or later: Return to default desktop, apparent "loss" of home directory
    If that isn't it, try creating a new user and then log in under that account and see if you get your desktop back.
