The problem you are having can only be fixed by an HP Field Tech. I am one and I've fixed this issue before. It's an advisory that's only distributed internally at HP. Put in a service ticket. Any tech that has the latest s/n changer can fix this. Once the tech has booted the s/n changer, they'll put the info in like always, only this time, there will be two extra options. For any technician reading this, it'll ask something related to a 25-digit hex value that says (hit enter if unknown.) Instead, enter 25 zeros and hit enter. Then, on the softstylus option, just hit enter to leave it at defaults. That completes the latest version of the tool. This should fix your problem.

    It's searching for new mail and can't connect to the server apparently,
    Quit the mail app completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
    Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. Try mail again.
    Or you can try this as well. Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

    1st generation touch, downloaded version 3.1.3, apps worked for an evening, now you tap them the screen blinks but the won't open.  Are apps still possible on this old of touch?  If so, how do I fix it?

    The iPhone doesn't require a USB cable made by Apple but the cable must be compatible and preferably include the "made for iPhone" Apple certification by the manufacturer.

  • Can't create a new user on ePrint center for four days now

    I've been trying to create a new ePrint user since Saturday when I set up my printer. I think I've tried it 15 times now. All I ever get when submitting the form at:

    I saw an earlier thread where someone saying they were an HP employee said it was fixed. I tried it after that and it still doesn't work for me. This is really weak! I would like to use this feature, but if I can't do something as basic as signing in to use it, it makes me wonder who is using it at all...

    As reported by one Danish user, the problem was I was using Czech characters in the name, so now it works.
    Apparently somewhere along the chain between the web and backend sides someone doesn't have an encoding set properly. In this day and age, with the ease of UTF-8 and Unicode, that's pretty lame...

  • BT Infinity - Not working for 7 days now

     Hi, take 2 ...
    I had BT Infinity installed last Tuesday.
    - The engineer came, did his stuff but reported it was not working. After calling BT they informed me it would work by midnight.
    - Midnight comes, still not working.
    - Call BT, they tell me it takes 2 days to stabalise so it will work on Thursday. This is normal and I should have expected no internet for 2 days - WTF!!!!
    - Thursday comes, still no internet. Call BT, they test some stuff and tell me it will work on Friday.
    - Friday comes, call BT. I ask them to send engineer and they refuse. Instead I arrange a seperate call on Friday night for them to talk me through some reset/install steps. Spend over 1 hour on the phone, still not working. 'Vincent' from the call centre tells me he has now escalated it and within 48hours it will be resolved. They will call me to tell me.
    - 48 hours pass, no call received. I email - nothing. Resort to Twitter, they reply saying they will look into it. Nothing. So finally I call, 20mins on hold to be told they need to send an engineer!!!! They put me through to booking dept but I get cut off.... then silence. No call back, no follow up and no call I was promised in the first place!!
    So its been a week with no internet. Its been a week of empty promises and lies. As I type I am waiting for a call back, I won't hold my breath

    Was it a renewal/repurchase?  The new minutes are not available until the previous month ends.  When the new billing month starts, the new minutes will become available.  On subscriptions that auto renew the billing is always attempted 3 days early.

  • Ichat video conference worked for two days -- now "did not respond" error

    I am very frustrated by the problems I'm having with iChat. I am in Alabama for a month, and was hoping to be able to video conference with my wife and 2 1/2 year old son in San Diego. On the way to Alabama we succesfully chatted twice, once over the free wireless internet at the Laquinta I stayed at, and again at the Comfort inn I was at the next night. So I get to Alabama, and now, I can still initiate and participate in video conferences with random folks (like the very helpful Ralph in the UK) and the "test" buddies, but when I try to conference with my wife and son, I get the "did not respond" error. There doesn't seem to be any logical explanation. I've tried this at the hotel I'm at, and at a local Panera Bread (free WiFi), Both locations allow me to do video conference with everyone I try except my wife and son. She hasn't changed any settings on the computer since we succesfully chatted, and she can succesfully connect with the "test" buddies. I have been an Apple user, fan and supporter since 1984, but this really makes me upset. Is there some way to figure out what the problem is? both of us can chat with anyone we try, except for the only people we really even want to chat with...eachother!
    My machine - Macbook - using DSL over my airport express
    her machine - iMac G3 600Mhz, 10.3.9, using Cable modem (Earthlink)
    Like I said, it worked twice with absolutley no problems, and it still works, just not with eachother!

    I take it you mean you are wireless to the modem and do not have a Airport Express device with you ?
    If you do then Jan's advice is sound.
    IS your wife on Quicktime 6 or 7 ?
    Has she set the Connection Speed (6) or Streaming speed (7) ?
    System Preferences > Quicktime > Connection Speed tab (6) or Streaming Speed tab (7) and set the drop down to match her download speed or to a max of 1.5meg (T1/LAN etc.)

  • IPad2 Locking Noise Worked For A Day Now Nothing?

    I have a weird glitch with iPad 2. First day when I locked and unlocked the iPad2 it made the typical locking sound. Now it doesn't. Play the iPod and it outputs from the speaker fine. I checked the settings and everything is turned on including the lock sound and volume is at full. The side button is set for orientation and not mute so that isn't it.
    I restarted it twice but still no go. Any other ideas?
    Figured it out. If you change the button from Mute to Screen Orientation with the button in the mute position the sounds stay muted. So make sure you change the setting to orientation with the sound switch set to un-muted.

    Disable, would that be just as simple as temporarily dragging the third party plugins to the desktop and dragging them back one by one, or are we looking at trashing then one by one reinstalling?

    We are using windows 7 64-bit. Here is a screen shot of the error that we are getting. It is just this computer.
    I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Adobe several times and it will work for the day and then get the error the next day.
    I have the power options to never turn off hard disk and never sleep. Any help would be great.
