New hyperlink from URL crash in CS5
When I try to create a hyperlink from a url or text in InDesign CS5, many times InDesign crashes. It's mostly when I haven't created a hyperlink in a few hours, and then when I do, InDesign crashes. Once I restart InDesign, I'm good to go and everything works perfectly. Anyone else have this problem?
My system is InDesign 7.0.2 and OS 10.6.4

I'm on CS4 and I've been labouring with this problem for the past year. I have consistently returned crash reports but it concerns me considerably that the same problem has translated to CS5 without a fix in sight. I get the crash with New hyperlink from URL and also with New hyperlink... where the dialogue appears but the program crashes as soon as I try to access the dropdown menu to change to url, email, page or whatever. Like everyone else, I have to restart the program and everything works just fine ... for a while. Now I never call the New hyperlink dialogue without saving the document first, as I never know when it will choose to crash. Despite all my crash reports, which have included my email address, nobody from Adobe has given me any feedback, so it doesn't surprise me that no one from Adobe has taken an interest in this thread.

Force PDF to open in a new window from URL
Is there a way to save a PDF so that it forces IE to open a
new window when linking to it from a web site? I have no control
over the HTML code on the site but I need the PDF to not hijack the

Open URL in a new browser from a JSF backing bean
I want to use commandButton action in jsf to launch a new browser instead of using commandLink.
How do you launch url in a new browser window by firing up a method in backing bean?
So far I am able to launch a URL within the same browser window. Here is my code:
In jsp file:

well there are ways you can use javascript window.open
or you can use a commanLink ans set the target
but from my understanding there is no way to open a new browser from the backing beans ( this is because this is a client function and your backing beans are on the sever ) -
Brand new imac 27" keeps crashing. I'm running 10.9.2 with all software up to date. It will crash on file tranfers to/from/between external drives, web browsing, word processing, video editing, and even while idling. It used to crash every 15 minutes when I first got it but I reformatted and reinstalled all software. Now it it still crashing albeit less often. This is extremely frustrating because I have no idea what I can do to prevent it from happening!

I Have a Ipod Classic that all my music is on.
After my previous computer crashed I have not had any of my music able to be transfered to the new computer from the Ipod.
Is there a way to do this?Unfortunately, unless you have a backup and can restore the iTunes library to the new computer, you are stuck with the current state of the iPod. This is one of those things that makes doing backups so important.
Unless your music is all purchased from iTunes (not from your own CD's that you imported into iTunes and then downloaded to the iPod), you will be able to re-download all your iTunes store music back to the iPod when you install iTunes on the new computer. When you first attach the iPod to the new computer and new iTunes the first time it will tell you that this iPod is synced with another iTunes library and let you initialize the iPod (which will erase everything on the iPod - so don't do this unless you don't care about the stuff on the iPod now).
I've seen 3rd party apps in the past that will let you copy music/content from iPod to computer and bypass iTunes, but not sure if they still exist as this was several years ago.

"Edit photo in CS 5" command from lightroom crashes CS5
Using Lihgroom 3 - MAC OS X 10.6.8.
From the develpoe module I will mouse click control - chose "Edit Photo in CS 5" with lightroom adjustments. CS5 Opens briefly but when the pictures begins to display CS5 crashes. I have been using Lightreoom and CS5 for about a year without problem. Suddenyl, for no apparent reason all this started. I haven't added any addtional software to computer. Any ideas?Yes , I did check that.
An update. I found an article at http://blog.widen.com/blog/industrial-retouch-and-color. Discussed are crashes in CS5 in OS X 10.6.4. I am now using 10.6.7, but was experiencing this problem before updating to 10.6.7. At any rate, the article talkes about problems in the OpenGL, and one suggestion is to switch to Basic OpenGL ( in preferences) from Normal mode. This of course until there is an updates fix. I did do this and now I am able to open all files under the Edit photo in CS5 without crashing. Don't know enough about all this, but whatever it did, my crashes are gone for now. Why is "New Volume From Layers" Greyed Out? (PS CS5 Extended)
OK here's what I've tried, based on forum research:
1. Make sure two layers are selected.
2. Deleted PS CS5 preferences (using Shift+Ctrl+Alt method) - tried twice.
3. Checked that my video card is supported (it is).
Yet this menu item continues to be greyed out - I'd appreciate any suggestions to get it working!
I cannot find out how this menu item is meant to be used as there seems to be no article in Adobe Help.

And two vector paths is normally enough to interpolate a 3D volume in any 3D modeller I've ever used. So the "minimum of 3 paths" is simply not true.
So, I'm left with the question why is "New Volume" from layers greyed out?

PS CS5 and 3D (new volume from layers) problem
OK I dont know if my issue is hardware related or user error so any help is appreciated.
Im trying to use the "New Volume from Layers" function (under 3D) with 2 text layers selected and the function is greyed out. How can I fix this? I do have open GL enabled.

Intel graphicsOver time, and with some different "incidents," the Preferences file can become corrupt. In PS, I have only had that happen once over decades, and it was when a program decided to update, while I was doing a Save of a very large PS image. In that case, the Ctrl+Alt+Del, while launching PS brought up the "Do you want to reset your Preferences to the default?" message, at which time I chose yes, and all was good, except for the work that I was doing the Save for, but I had a Save_As_a_Copy, so only lost about an hour's work. I figure that one "trashed Prefs" file since version 2.5, with almost daily use is not bad.
PrPro has the same "three-finger-salute," or you can go to your Preferences file and either Rename, or Delete that - just like PS. Just remember to hold down those keys during the entire launch cycle. I do not believe that PrPro has that dialog screen, asking if that is what you wish to do, but I believe that it just clears the Prefs, and resets to the default. Never had to trash my Prefs in PrPro, but several users have, and it has fixed some odd issues.

On other positions, portraits and landscape with button on the left, it works fine. And when it is working, the site will crashed after awhile. You can try to restore a compressed .jsonlz4 from the bookmarkbackups folder in the "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop in the current profile.

- Transering iTunes purchases to the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
- Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
Copy music
- For synced photos you need a program like TouchCopy or PhoneView. The do music too.
- After everything is on the computer connect the iPod to the computer and make a backupo by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup
Note that the backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media like apps, music, synced photos.
