Did this problem occur upon first boot?
What operating system was preinstalled? I'm assuming XP. If yes, try reloading Windows via the recovery disks or partition [if applicable]. If you don't have any recovery disks, contact Lenovo support and request them.

New Idea Pad S12 Problem

I bought an Ideapad S12 model in January last and already the left mouse button has broken. Is there an email address for customer care (looked and couldnt find) and what are Lenovo like with problems like these? Are they easy to work with and willing to fix / exchange if a problem has occured?

IOS 6 is really worse , now I cannot poem my email in new I pad

How to downgrade iOS 6 to iOS 5.1.1 , iOS 6 is not suitable for new I pad , now I cannot open my mail and even my safari speed is very slow . Please advice to me if anybody have a idea to solve this problem , thank Naung

I had problems with activating iMessage too. First, it asked for a password, I typed the first letter, then the password box disappeared. After that it kept giving me failure messages. I did a hard reboot of my phone and it just worked, didnt even ask for me to sign in lol. Facetime was also problematic. Arent ya glad you spent $400+ dollars on a phone that operates as well as a Meritline blue light special.

This is the scinario I am getting, and it's getting worse. I am actually writing this on my other I pad as the new one won't load this page!!!! Not happy!
Lets say I'm on e bay searching stuff and suddenly it won't load any more pages from the search results. I can open a new tab and load other sites so the internet is working, but at this instant i cannot look at any eBay pages on the new I pad.
I go into settings and clear browsing history and the cookies, go back into safari and I can now load eBay and view the page that wouldnt load before. Sometimes this method will work for an hour, sometimes only 2-3 mins.
This fault is happening more and more frequently, I was on yahoo earlier reading news. Then the page wouldn't load. Couldn't load previous page either exactly the same as with eBay.
So I go on apple.com.au and sign in to support to ask them. Page won't load . GRRRR!
Clear the cache etc and it's fine for a few mins then the same so I am writing this off our old I pad 1, using the Internet tethered from the new iPad that wouldn't load this page
It's happening more and more I don't know if it's a problem with Telstra or with the I pad? Is this a common problem?
I have tried Mercury browser and Terra browser and the fault remains.
Seems to be on any website it can happen now.
And now when it does, I can't check e mail, load maps, carry out speed tests anything Internet related.
I can tether the I pad and it works fine on my old one.
Maybe faulty I pad?

I'm thinking it may be a DNS issue. I cleared my DNS cache using OnyX and my problem went away. OnyX is a free utility and is very useful. You can get it here:

You can change the primary email address on an account by logging into it via the 'manage your apple id' button on http://appleid.apple.com, or via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes, or by tapping on it in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your phone and logging into it.
You won't be able to change it to an email address that is being used an alternate or rescue email address on the account (they can be viewed/changed/removed via http://appleid.apple.com), nor to one that is currently being used as the primary email address on an account

Hello trying to get help with the option on auto lock (never is not on option on 4s or new I pad 2? Both are up to date with the latest 6.1.2

Just trying to get help in auto lock it is not an options for (never) on 4s or new i pad 2 both are a mirror of each other it seems I have had problems with this phone from day 1 all up dates have been installed. Calling the support line is good if you get someone that is advance and that is not worried about there call time which I may have to do however I do know that this site is great help any help will be appreciated. This is my husband phone and I pad we purchased both phones @ the same time I have his older I pad he was given a new one for work which is the latest HELP please thanks. No problems with my phone or pad.

Other than supplying the desktop "theme" (if you can call a complete lack of style along with a fair bit of inconsistency a "theme"), the OS really shouldn't be causing you to have a washed-out desktop experience. That's more a
matter of your display driver not really doing its job. What video card do you have?
FYI, one of the reasons I like Aero Glass for Win 8.1 (a 3rd party package) is that it allows me to make the desktop more pleasant to use and helps set the client areas (i.e., where work gets done) apart from the window chrome.
From what I can see, the color-management logic in Windows 8.1 is essentially unchanged from what it was in Windows 7. That there has been NO progress in this area is really a disappointment. It's an area where Microsoft has again just stopped
trying to make improvements.
If it's at all interesting to you, here's a screen grab of a REALLY cluttered up desktop. I don't normally work this way; this was an exercise to see how much I could get running. I finally gave up starting more stuff as I grew tired
and it just kept working fine...

Thanks for the help. Now I can feel comfortable in not having to sign up for cellular when I buy, esp. Since I'll be using my new IPad mostly at home on my Cox wi fi. Then I can see, in using the i pad, how often I'd actually use the cellular, and where. This can help decide which type of cell plan I get. Small problem it may seem, but a very helpful answer. To be specific. I have the imac late 2013 model, and i just bought the trackpad this October 2014. I have been using magic mouse without any problem. I just want to have a new experience with the trackpad. Any time i on my imac, i will have a normal screen with my picture and a guest column at the center. I need to click either my picture or the guest in order to have the space where i can key in my password with the keyboard. But unfortunately, my trackpad will show that it is connected and the cursor will be moving in front of the screen if i touch the trackpad, but if i try to click, i will get no response. I have to put back batteries inside my magic mouse and then click on my picture if i want to log in with my id or i click on the guest image if i want to log in as a guest. it is only after this that my trackpad will start responding.
i want to use only trackpad for now so as to be more efficient with it. I don't want to be putting back batteries inside the magic mouse only to on my imac. I need a solution please.

It sounds like you have assigned the primary click on the trackpad to something else, perhaps a gesture.
Use your mouse, login and then open the Trackpad preference pane and see how you have the interface configured.
Oh and you can have both the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad powered up and working at the same time. No need to keep moving batteries around.

Any advice welcome.

To clear to old before passing it on, open the Settings app and tap on General (left hand menu). Scroll down and tap on settings, then tap on Erase All Content and Settings.
If you have been synching the iPad to iTunes on a computer, you should also have backed it up. If you havn't backed it, you will want to do so before clearing the settings and use the back up to set up your new iPad.

Two new IDE-Controllers after BIOS update, but not installable

Hi there,
i recently updated my bios to the latest version and now the following strange thing happens:
when i boot my machine (875P NEO, P4 2.8 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 2 Otical drives at IDE0, 2 S-ATA drives at the S-ATA-controller, WIN XP SP), there are two new IDE (primary and secondary) Chanels to be found by the system.
Windows seems to act normal as it states them "new device found" (all that in german as i live here and tries to install the proper drivers, i think.
but then the new-devices-assistant pops up and tells me, that they cannot be installed because there are no drivers for my system.
i even used the actual inf-drivers from the msi-site.
that will happen at every start. in the hardware-manager there are both ide-devices marked as non-functional with a yellow sign in front of them with a exclamation mark in it.
oh, and my office installation wants the same .cab-file from the installation-cd everytime i boot the system.
the bios was the only thing changed.
does anyone have an idea whatr to do?

yeah, seems like the same symptoms.
my version was 3.6 from october 2004. Version 3.5 from september works fine except for the cpu temperature beeing displayed too high in bios...
rollback to 2.5 did not work, still the same though i did not do the thing with the cmos-reset via jumper. will try this today...

Back up the old iPad to either iTunes or iCloud and use the back up to restore your new one.

I suspect that the problem is in your router. Do NOT consider your router to be blameless if some other devices seem to work with it.
Try restarting your WiFi router by removing power for 30 seconds. Don't just turn it Off. On many routers that doesn't really do anything but put the router into standby mode. If that does not help check for a firmware update for your router. If none exists which corrects the problem consider replacing the router.
There is a chance that some services turned on in your router could be causing problems. Look for a setting called QoS (Quality of Service). If ON turn it OFF.
If you need more help please give the make, model, and version of your WiFi router and how you have it configured.

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
