New iMac (10.9.4) & now my HP Photosmart 6520 "scan to computer" function does not work
Recently upgraded to a new iMac running 10.9.4. Printing works well from this computer and all other devices (iPad, iPhone, etc.). However, the "scan to computer" function does not work. In the "Scan" section of HP Utility when I click on "Scan to Computer" the error message reads "Scan to Computer Cannot Be Enabled. The software required for Scan to Computer could not be located on this computer. Please download and install the latest HP recommended software for your device from http://www.hp.com/support, and then try again.
Of course I have done this... twice... still no luck. Also ran Software Update and there was an update, but it made no difference.
Yes, did all that... in order. It did not resolve the problem. However, I did find what appears to be the answer. After re-installing the driver software DO NOT immediately follow the prescribed steps. Instead, quit the installer, restart the Mac, and an Apple software update will appear after restart. Install that software update, and even though the computer and software do not call for it, restart the Mac again. Only then add the printer and follow the balance of the steps. It works! Thank you for your help.

Sorry to hear about your phone jb111jb! We'll do everything we can to help find the best route! The only way to remove the password is flashing the device, but that will erase all the content. Have you ever backed up using Verizon Cloud or Google Sync? Do you have a memory card?

Itunes now requesting PW for old purchases. Current PW does not work. How to fix and gain access to songs purchased 6 years ago. Other, more recent songs all OK.
If you bought the music with another itunes account, then you will have to authorize the computer for that account.

Did you reset the PRAM? http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379 And the pram battery may need to be replaced if it is over 3 years old it is under the iMac under the ram cover and there is a little button in there to reset the pmu as well. you have to have it pluged in when you do a pmu reset. there is a lot more stuff to try before the worst case scenario that is a bad PAV board the Pav is what runs the monitor and if it is going bad That may be a syptom that it is haveing and they can not be fixed (Well not for under $250 and that is useing old parts because they do not make them any more) but that wood be worst case scenario. Lets just hope it just needs to be reset Try that and Keep us posted -
Please help! New desktop archive function DOES NOT work!

I have been using Treos for many years, and I often delete and archive address, memo, todo and datebook records. I keep critical archive files for reference and often do refer to old archived records.
HERE IS THE PROBLEM: Whenever I delete and choose to archive an address entry or memo from my Treo and then hotsynch, the desktop hotsync process does not add the deleted records to the appropriate archive files the way it should and the way it has worked for years, in this case address.aba and memopad.mpa - the desktop hotsync process OVERWRITES those archive files. You lose all of your old archived data, anything that was archived is wiped out and replaced with the most recently deleted and archived records
SO for example: I had 20 archived contacts in my address.aba file. I deleted a contact from my Treo and wanted it archived. After the hotsync all 20 archived contacts were gone, the only record in my address.aba file was the most recently deleted and archived record.
I have tested this carefully and many times now with the address and memopad and the same thing happens.
Am I the only one who uses the archive PIM files as valuable references? Can not imagine so, and can not imagine I am the only one who noticed this problem, or the only one it is plaguing.
Can anyone offer an explanation and solution?

I have gone on Palms Chat service, called their support on the phone several times, sent an email to the Access software public-relations message center, and done everything I can to correct the problem with no success. The Palm support people don't even seem to understand my problem, let alone how to correct it.
One technician told me that Access desktop version 6.2 doesn't work and to go back to version 4.1.4E. That doesn't work either.

Last update clearly informed me that Dashlane did not work with the update. I read the information this morning before downloading and did not see that once again, Dashlane will not work. I must have access to my passwords. Do I have any recourse other than re-installing the last version of Firefox? Or, using Safari in the interim so I can use iCloud to reveal passwords?

LINEST function using Numbers for Mac
Thank you for your help. This page is somewhat helpful, but I still don't quite understand. I am using the Numbers program, and my assignment calls for me to use the LINEST function to return a set of 10 values.
When I googled how to do this, a lot of pages mentioned hitting "command+enter" to complete the array function, but they were using an older version of Numbers and it doesn't do anything when I try it in the new version. I tried using "Index" with LINEST, and i've managed to get about 5 values out of it. -

Do you have AVG Safe Search installed? It blocks use of the Enter key after typing in a search string.
Disable it by clicking the Firefox button, go to Add-ons, then Extensions. You should be able to find it in there. -
Updated Firefox, now it crashes when opening certain web pages. Does not work in safe mode either.
I was using Nuance PDF Professional, but have changed it to updated Adobe to try and correct the problem - no luck. Update Flash - still no luck. Tried a couple other fixes from support - still no luck. I can not even use the support site because it crashes when I select a problem to investigate. Using IE and all is fine.
