New iMac won't let me log in to iTunes

Hi
Hoping someone can help. I have a new iMac that has been fully set up now. When I am trying to log in to the iTunes store I get an error message saying it's "current unavailable at this time, please try later".
I also have a Macbook which I can still access my iTunes through but having just subscribed to iMatch I want both machines to be able to fundtion.
Can any suggest anything for someone who isn't massively technically minded please?
Thanks so much xx

Hi, aliceinneverwonderland.
This is expected behavior with a new Apple ID. Upon initial sign in to the iTunes Store (or a new iTunes Store region), you will be asked to accept the Terms and Conditions, as well as enter account information/billing information if it is missing.

  • New computer won't let me log in

I bought a MacBook Pro from a friend. After I transferred all the files over from my old MacBook Pro the new computer won't let me log in. It says my password is incorrect. What should I do?

I have the disks. She gave them to me when I bought the computer.
    Here's what I'm wondering...
Since her computer was set to factory settings... and I immediately transferred my MacBook Pro over to her MacBook Pro without first doing all the updates on hers to get it up to the same level of Mac os 10.8 - would that be what's causing the problem or would all those updates have transferred over in the transfer?
Right now there are 4 installs running on the computer (the one we bought). I figure I'll let them run and see if the applications are back afterwards. If they aren't then perhaps I need to reset to factory settings again, go in and do the updates and THEN transfer over my old computer.
    What do you think?

  • New iMac won't play many of my purchased iTunes songs

I have 2 of my 5 computers authorized for iTunes. My new iMac won't let me play many of songs, and I get a message that my iMac is not authorized to play the song I paid for on my other computer. I repeatedly go through the process of telling it my iMac is authorized...it agrees, then returns to tell me it cannot play my songs because my iMac is not authorized. What step am I missing?

Here is what customer service is now telling me to do:

  • IMac won't let me log in (OS 10/2)

I'm sorry now that I set up my iMac to require a password. I would be up and running if I didn't have to log in! Iget the horizontal striped barber pole endlessly running after I enter my password. The manual which came with the OS says to boot up with the Install Disk 1 and reset your password, if one has trouble logging in. I have reset my password, to no avail. I have run Norton Disk Doctor, and fixed a major error. I've run Apple Hardware Test CD as well. All is well there. Does anyone have a solution? We had a power outage yesterday, but I used the computer afterwards, then shut down for the night. This morning, it was a no go.

    hi there--
try doing a safe boot by holding down the shift key during the startup. the login window should say safe boot if it's successful. if you manage to get up and running then you can do a number of things. you can go to /library/startupitems and pull it to the desktop. if you get a normal startup after that, then pull the folder. also check system preferences > accounts > startup items and disable all startup items. yet another thing to try is removing ~/library/preferences/com.apple.loginwindow.plist and restarting. (~ meaning the home library instead of the root level). another thing that will work sometimes is going to disk utility and repairing permissions. i hope that one of these things will work for you. keep me updated. • New iMac won't let me use Image Zone

I have an iMac running OS X 10.9.4.
I've always used HP Image Zone with my old but still-going-strong Photosmart 3210 printer/scanner, particularly to edit my photos.
Although the Mac is quite happy to talk to the printer, and print and scan, it will not install Image Zone because it says "Power PC applications are no longer supported".
Is there a fix for this? A new App or plug-in maybe?
The available downloads I've tried don't do the trick, and I really can't get on with iPhoto.
    This question was solved.

Hi higgi-san, welcome to the forums!
I noticed your post about not being able to use Image Zone with your OS X 10.9.4. After checking into this for you, there is no full software available on Mavericks for the Photosmart 3210.

  • Old Apple ID won't let me log in on itunes... can't validate old music

I purchased music in itunes starting about four years ago. At that time, I was using my aol screen name account to purchase music.
When I select a song bought by my aol account (and not my present apple id) it asks me to log in to this old account. I still remember the password for this aol account, and iTunes allows me to log in. Then it tells me I need to update this account, to which I click "okay" in response. There is then an iTunes store error telling me to check my internet clock and make sure my computer accepts iTunes cookies.
Therefore, I can't upload/play this old music.. it is just sitting in my iTunes library. So frustrating! Please help.

  • Won't let me log in to the app store or iTunes. tells me there is an unknown error.

yep it won't let me log in with my Apple ID and password. my apple ID works fine with icloud and logging into the apple support community. I reset my password to see if that helped. it didn't. I tried to empty the cache.db file from the appstore folder in my library. that didn't work. I tried restarting my mac. that didn't work. So I guess I'm pretty much screwed...
I've had this computer for only two weeks and I can safely say i'm not impressed with Lion OSX 10.7.2
There are a lot of weird kinks and issues. Also compatability issues with apps that have worked on macs for a long time.
1.One example is the SSH client Fugu which is just now releasing a preview of the version for lion users (the full version for lion is still not out yet). Why is it that Lion was released before the compatability issues with major third-party applications was addressed?
    2. Another issue, VM fusion newest release with the newest update STILL doesn't provide migrate pc for Lion. only the parallel operating system service works.
    3. I can't find any internal files with spotlight without bending over backwards. although after bending over backwards i still can't find anything. for example, I wanted to search for a .plist extension file. In the old days you could set your search preferences so that if you wanted to see hidden or sensitive computer system files you could set it to allow this. Same on Pcs. Now, you can't. You can set preferences in the system preferences to look for certain things in certain applications....but there is no way to simply search for files. You can't find application folders and look into those. Nothing. It's all hidden. heck, it took me over a week or so just to be able to find the Mac HD. that used to be on the desktop. not anymore.
    4. Wanted to download the xcode developer tool from the appstore the other day. tried to do that and it lagged forever. didn't tell me at what percentage it was downloading. nothing. then I noticed how many GB it took in space and also the numerous one star reviews saying how the newest update had ruined the application and not to waste my time. Why can't we find archived versions of applications so that in case the most recent one is totally messed up, we could at least have the opportunity to go back to the old version?
    5. logging into the appstore the first time it wouldn't even let me download a free app without putting in my credit card information. not exactly reassuring after hearing about all these credit card frauds going around that are found to be connected with appstore CC info.
I am seriously thinking that I should either go and get a copy of snow leopard or just return the computer entirely. I haven't been able to get any of my school work done because of all these weird problems. at first i thought it was because I haven't used a mac in over a year.....but now i'm thinking there are issues over at the apple software development team. I hope that apple will get their act together and release a major patch to fix the problems with Lion. They owe it to their faithful customers. please don't turn into another microsoft.

I have decided to dedicate this thread to the wonderful errors of Lion OSX. Each time I find a huge problem with Lion I will make note of it here.
Today I discovered a new treasure of doggie poop in Lion. No Save As......
I repeat. No Save As. In text editor I couldn't save the file with a new extension. I finally accomplished this oh so majorly difficult task (because we all know how difficult it should be to save a file with a new extension) by pressing duplicate and then saving a copy of the file with a new extension. Yet then I had to delete the first copy and send it to trash. And of course then I have to secure empty trash because if I have to do this the rest of my mac's life I will be taking up a quarter of percentage of space with duplicate files. So this is the real reason they got rid of Save As: so that it would garble up some extra GB on the ole hard disk.
So about 20 minutes of my time were wasted while doing my homework and studying for an exam because I had to look up "how to save a file with a new extension in  mac Lion" and then wasted time sitting here and ranting on this forum until someone over at Apple wakes up from their OSX-coma.
are you freaking kidding me Apple? I mean REALLY?!!!! who the heck designed this?!!! I want to know. I want his or her name and I want to sit down with them and have a long chat. and then I'd probably splash cold water on their face to wake them up.
I am starting to believe that Apple is Satan.

  • Itunes on iphone won't let me log in with correct password

I have been all over the forums trying every options I have found. But when I go to update my apps my iphone/itunes asks for my password again. I have double and triple checked my password and it is correct. It is logging me in to my cloud, to the apple website etc. I am not typing it in wrong, believe me I have checked that as well. I have gone and reset the cache and reset the warnings in itunes. I have updated the software. I have made sure my icloud password is retyped in. What else can I do? I don't know what to try. I have reset the password and it still won't let me log in with the new, correct password. This has been going on for the past 3 months and nothing.

Yes, it is showing my apple id. And no, I don't have any other apple id's. I have gone into my settings into iTunes and App Store and signed out and signed back in in the apple id section. It connects no problem in my settings. But when I'm actually in the app store "App" and it prompts me for my password it comes back saying that the apple id and or password is incorrect.

  • My iMac won't let me update to OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard.

My iMac won't let me update to OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard. It's year of manufacture is 2007 and when I try to install Snow Leopard it now says that it cannot be upgraded on the iMac. Normally it wouldn't bother me but Chrome and Firefox no longer support 10.5! Do I need a new Mac?

Are you using gray system disks from another mac? Normally that message means you're trying, for example, to use disks delivered with a MacBook to install on an iMac. The system disks are locked to the systems they are delivered with and can't be used on other mac hardware.
If that's the case here, call the online Apple store, which in the US is at 800-MY-APPLE, and order a retail copy of Snow Leopard 10.6.
