New image generates too long

Hi, I'm making a storyboard in PS and have been creating seperate psds for every shot but now the new document generates a much longer image then I set in the parameters.
It has done this before and I would just generate a new one and after a few tries it seems to work out back to the 720p box, but now I can't do it. It continus to open an image that is clearly longer than the parameters I set.
Is there a setting that may have defaulted on me or is this a glitch?
This happens when I use my preset. I just made a custom image and it opened a new doc correctly.
It would be great if i could use the preset again. I've used it a 100 times already.

By the look of the ruler, they are the same. It would help if we could see the image settings. Because it looks wider, it appears that the option for  pixel ratio correction is enabled. Just a guess with out seeing more.

  • New Socket takes too long / how to stop a Thread ?

    Hello to everyone,
I have a problem that I have been hunting this ol' Sun website all day for a suitable answer, and have found people who have asked this same question and not gotten answers. Finally, with but a shred of hope left, I post...
    My really short version:
A call to the Socket(InetAddress, int) constructor can take a very long time before it times out. How to limit the wait?
    My really detailed version:
I have a GUI for which the user enters comm parameters, then the program does some I/O while the user waits (but there is a Cancel button for the Impatient), then the results are displayed. Here is quick pseudocode (which, by the way, worked great before there were Sockets in this program -- only serial ports):
    Main (GUI) thread:
--> reset the stop request flag
--> calls workerThread.start(), then brings up a Cancel dialog with a Cancel button (thus going to sleep)
--> (awake by dialog closing -- dialog may have been closed by workerThread or by user)
--> set stop request flag that worker thread checks (in case he's still alive)
--> call workerThread.interrupt() (in case he's alive but asleep for some reason (???))
--> call workerThread.join() to wait for worker thread to be dead (nothing to wait for if he's dead already)
--> display worker thread's result data or "Cancelled..." information, whichever worker thread has set
    Worker thread:
--> yield (to give main thread a chance to get the Cancel Dialog showing)
--> do job, checking (every few code lines) that stop request flag is not set
--> if stop request, stop and set cancelled flag for Main thread to handle
--> if finish with no stop request, set result data for Main thread to handle
--> take down Cancel Dialog (does nothing if not still up, takes down and wakes main thread if still up)
THE PROBLEM: Worker thread's job involves doing IO, and it may need to instantiate a new Socket. If it is attempting to instantiate Socket with bad arguments, it can get stuck... The port int is hardcoded by the program, but the IPAddress must be typed by user.
If the arguments to Socket(InetAddress, int) constructor contain a valid-but-not-in-use IP address, the worker thread will get stuck in the Socket constructor for a LONG time (I observed 1m:38s). There is nothing the Main thread can do to stop this wait?
EVEN WORSE: If the user clicks the Cancel Button during this time, the dialog goes away soon/immediately, but then the GUI appears to be hanging (single-threaded look) until the long wait is over (after which the "Cancelled..." info is displayed).
MY QUESTION: Is there nothing the Main thread can do to stop this wait?
Your answers will be sincerely appreciated. Despite my hopeless attitude (see above), the folks at this forum really have yet to let me down ...

  • Login to the SAP System and opening a new modus takes too long

    Hello friends
I have a problem on my SAP ECC 6.0 system. When some users (but not all users) try to login (via SAPGUI) or open new modi this takes within 5 minutes to happen. I have allready excluded local hardware problems on the client PCs (You can logon on the same computer with another user without having that delay).
In Sapgui the Option "Extras - Settings - Do not display picture"  is already set.
Could anyone give me a hint please in which direction I could search for the solution? This would be very helpful.
    Thanks a lot in advance!
    Greetings

  • Completed a project in iMovie which is 41 minutes long (2 GB) . When I attempt to  create a iDVD disk(via clicking on share) ,I am advised that an error occurred because the project is too long. Have made other movies/created disks that are longer than 41

Have completed a project in project library that is 41 minutes long ( 2.1 GB ) . When I click share and attempt to create an iDVD disk , an error notice appears claiming the new project is too long.  Have created other iMovie/DVD disks in the past which were longer than 41 minutes.  What corrections do I need to make to ensure I can create  a DVD disk for this 41 minute ( 2 GB ) project... I am using a 17 MacBook pro for this project.

PS - have found other posts indicating that clips smaller than 2s or sometimes 5s, or "short files" can cause this. Modern style editing often uses short takes ! Good grief I cannot believe Apple. Well I deleted a half a dozen short sections and can export, but now of course the video is a ruined piiece of junk and I need to re-do the whole thing, the sound etc. which is basically taking as much time as the original. And each time I re-do it I risk again this lovely error -50 and again trying to figure out what thing bugs it via trial and error instead of a REASONABLE ERROR MESSAGE POINTING TO THE CLIP IT CAN'T PROCESS. What a mess. I HATE this iMovie application - full of BUGS BUGS BUGS which Apple will not fix obviously, since I had this product for a few years and see just hundreds of hits on Google about this error with disappointed users. Such junk I cannot believe I paid money for it and Apple does not support it with fixes !!!
If anyone knows of a GOOD reasonably priced video editing program NOT from APPLE I am still looking for suggestions. I want to do more video in future, but obviously NOT with iMovie !!!

  • I spent more than 18 hours to sync 5000 photos (about 20 GB) from my PC to new iPad... Whether it was too long?

I spent more than 18 hours to sync 5000 photos (about 20 GB) from my PC to new iPad... Whether it was too long?

First of all, did they all sync?  Are they all there and they look alright?
Depending on how they were shot, the sync re-optimizes each one for the iPad display.  If you shoot in RAW or have a very high resolution camera, that process can be pretty slow (also depends on how old & how fast your computer is as it is the machine doing the rendering of the images).
As long as it worked, I'd say you are fine.  Enjoy the new iPad.

  • Sometimes my computer takes too long to connect to new website. I am running a pretty powerful work program at same time, what is the best solution? Upgrading speed from cable network, is it a hard drive issue? do I need to "clean out" the computer?

Many times my computer takes too long to connect to new website. I have wireless internet (time capsule) and I am running a pretty powerful real time financial work program at same time, what is the best solution? Upgrading speed from cable network? is it a hard drive issue? do I only need to "clean out" the computer? Or all of the above...not to computer saavy.  It is a Macbook Pro  osx 10.6.8 (late 2010).

Almost certainly none of the above!  Try each of the following in this order:
Select 'Reset Safari' from the Safari menu.
Close down Safari;  move <home>/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db to the trash; restart Safari.
Change the DNS servers in your network settings to use the OpenDNS servers: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220
Turn off DNS pre-fetching by entering the following command in Terminal and restarting Safari:
defaults write com.apple.safari WebKitDNSPrefetchingEnabled -boolean false

  • Installing OS X on a new hard drive taking way too long?

I switched out my old 250 GB hard drive that shipped with my MacBook Pro for a new 640 GB WesternDigit drive. I'm trying to use a Mavericks installer USB to install on my newly formatted hard drive, but it's taking way too long - I mean, I left it going overnight (about 7.5 hours), and when I came down, it wasn't even half done. Is there anything I can do here? I'd like to use my laptop. Thank you very much for any suggestions.

Do you have a internet connection? Even with a USB installer that if good and functioning properly you need an internet connection to Authenticate the install with your Apple ID.
If your old drive is still functioning you can connect it to your Mac with a SATA to USB adapter and use the Recovery HD on that original drive to reinstall Mavericks on the new drive.
If the drive is no longer functioning and you have no way of getting to the Apple internet download for Mavericks then you will need to start with an install of the original version of OS X that came on your Mac when new then update and or upgrade to Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and then use the Mac App Store to reinstall Mavericks. There is not other way to do this. So save yourself some time and trouble and start fresh.
If your original drive is still functioning and it had Mavericks installed on it you can also CLONE that drive to the new one once you connect it to your mac with some type of SATA to USB adapter or enclosure.
If the Mavericks USB installer you have was made from a Mac that came with Mavericks pre-installed on it that will not work on your Mac.

  • The new power cord I ordered for my macbook air doesn't fit, too long; my computer is three years old. have they changed the powercord?

I have a three year old macbook air. I ordered a new powercord from amazon (two, actually), and it doesn't fit.
The cord connection is too long for my computer.
Is the new powercord a new size, and if so, is there any adapter?

Yes, there is a new style adapter called MagSafe2, you need the original MagSafe adapter.

  • Identifier is too long error when creating a new summary

I get the following error when trying to create a new summary 'Database Error - ORA-00972: identifier is too long'. Looking at the error message on the web says that the maximum length is 30 char, so I gave it a name of '1', but I still get the error :(
Could someone let me know what goes into the naming 'behind the scenes' as it is obviously using a combination of the given name and something else?

Just for other peoples reference, the problem was due to the size of the name I had given to the db_link that I was using to get to the warehouse. By creating a smaller name for the link, enabled me to get a little further.

  • An install operation took too long to execute - wireless install of new printer

New printer, out of the box.
Every time I try and install the printer wirelssly using the CD Rom, it stalls at 99% install and returns message
"an install operation took too long to execute. this is a fatal error preventing product use."  I have tried the following (in this order) with no success:
    - Downloading latest driver (even though CD Rom install said I had the latst driver)
    - Turning HP Smart Install off on the printer, removing the printer from Device Manager, rebooting and reinstalling
    - Temporarily disabling firewall and virus protection software, removiremoving the printer from Device Manager, rebooting and reinstalling
    Help!!

    Hi @Slup ,
I see by your post that the installation is stalling at 99%. Thank you for provided all the steps you have already taken.
I would really like to be able to help you resolve this issue.
    Disconnect the USB cable first.
Remove the drivers first from the Print Server Properties if you have a printer icon listed in the Devices and Printers window. Highlight the printer, across the top of the window, click on Printer Server Properties, on the Driver tab, highlight and remove the printer, LaserJetPro 200 clr MFP M276nw and any Universal PCL drivers.
Uninstall the software from the CD. Touch the Windows key and the E key to access the computer window. Right click on the CD for the printer, left click open in a new window, double click on uninstall.
    Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Then start the installation again, immediately follow the steps in this document after connecting the USB cable please.
A Fatal Error Displays During Software Installation.
Disregard the printer model. This should allow the software to fully install properly.
    Test the printer.
How is the printer connected? (USB/Ethernet/Wireless)
Please let me know if you require any additional assistance.
    Have a fantastic day!
    Thank You.

After editing images in Aperture, I want to overwrite the new editing to a backup external drive.  Is there an easy way to "add" the new work without the  long process of backing up the whole library.

But the Library is not a program.  I use SuperDuper, and it is smart enough to treat Finder Packages (such as the Library) as a whole bunch of files and folders, and overwrites only those that have changed.  Can't CCC be set up the same way?

I downloaded photoshop not too long ago and then 1 week later got a new computer, is there anyway of putting photoshop on the new computer??

sure, just install and activate.  one license entitles you to two concurrent activations.
if you've already activated on two computers you will need to deactivate (help>deactivate) on, at least, one.

  • JAXB: Error compiling classes generated by xjc (file name too long)

    Hi friends,
I am trying to compile classes that are generated by using XJC tool on xsd file. The compilation fails with following message.

The compiler is complaining about the file name being too long. This is happening because the java classes when generated from XSD contains deep nesting of inner classes. So when it comes to compile the .class name file is too long for the operating system.
I am trying this on unix box.
I wonder if there is a way to configure XJC so that it does not produce inner classes but instead keep them out.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    many thanks

Flattening your schema definition will flatten the output files, too -- that will probably be nice for coding as well since you wont have to use class names such as SomeTypeNestedInAnotherTypeThatHasYetAnotherType. Instead of having all of the elements defined directly within the enclosing root element, define logical chunks at the top level and incorporate them in the definition of real root element of your documents by reference.

  • New SCSI hard drive problem: Device busy too long

I set up second SCSI hard drive for my sun box Sparc Station 20. The set up is as follows:
New SCSI hard drive (ID #2) connects to Sun box and connects to tape drive (SCSI #4) with terminator.
Hard drive is Seagate model ST15150N with J01 (open : means disable drive terminator) and J04 (jumper on second position, ID=2).
I CAN format the hard drive and assign label etc.. but when I type the command : > newfs /dev/rdsk/c1t2d0s7 (I use whole slice 7 as one partition and c1 is my second controller).
    The following error displays continuously:
WARNING: /iomnn@f,e0000000/sbus@f,e0001000/dma@1,81000/esp@1,80000/sd@2,0 device busy too long
Is this error come from the wrong hardware set up or from other reason ? Any suggestion is welcome . Thanks in advance.

First of all, thanks for your reply. I appreciate it.
A couple of things. I check my system profiler and I couldn't find out what kind of SCSI card I have. I even opened up my machine and there wasn't any writing on it. So how do I find out what type of card I have? My other question is if the same card worked for the SCSI drive I had before, why won't it work on the new drive. I've set it as the master at the end of the SCSI cord and like I said I used CCC. The drive shows up on my desktop but won't boot. Should I try loading OS from disks instead of using CCC?
