New iMovie, anyone else able to get anything done without a crash every 10 seconds?

This is getting rediculous. I'm going to uninstall this piece of crap, and reinstall the last version.

How do you reinstall last version?
I'm so frustrated. Been working for hours on trying to share a movie and iMovie crashes every single time.

The more I use my Macbook Pro while traveling the more i notice the 'sparkly/grainy' display. Compared to the White/Black Macbook it is obviously noticable what i'm talking about - especially on white backgrounds. My question is - has anyone been able to get a proper repair/fix for this common problem for the Core 2 Duo 15" Macbook Pro's?
I normally have my Macbook Pro connected to an external display but when i do take it along when I travel it stands out more and more every time.

Yes, I can CLEARLY see it, it's like wearing glasses that are filthy. The laptop is one week old and I could see it from after the 802.11n upgrade. This is not all that zoomed, really. To me it looks like a video memory problem, not a LCD problem. The problem is the same if I connect an external DELL monitor. Also very visible there. Also very visible if I change resolutions or number of colours. The main reason I believe it's a video memory thing is that when I move a window, it changes from white to, well... yellow and red. Yes, the CD-ROM drive must be jumpered as Master in order for it to be bootable.
Your G4 (PCI) should have two built-in IDE buses - one is usually assigned to the CD-ROM and Zip drives, and the other is used for hard drives. If you have the hard drive connected to the same bus as the one the CD-ROM is on, try switching the hard drive to the other bus.
Set the hard drive's jumpers as Master.
Exception - if the hard drive is a Western Digital, it may have a third position, Single, which must be used when the drive is the only device on the bus.
Note - Cable Select jumper settings will not work on a G4 (PCI).

Startup Manager, which is what booting with Option held down invokes, is not available on a G4 (PCI).

Firewire Target Disk Mode is limited on a G4 (PCI) - it can be the Host machine, but not the Target machine.

Relatedly, a G4 (PCI) can not boot to firewire drives, although it can use them for storage.

People who need to SCAN & PRINT without a compatible driver from their manufacturer can use Apple's very basic "PRINT & SCAN" utility in System Preferences:

Click Scan , and then click Open Scanner .

That is very strange! Have you been able to get your apps icons back now? Have you attempted a soft reset by holding the power button and home button at the same time until the phone restarts? Keep me posted with the results!

The Retrospect you used way back when is no longer around. The company was sold and that company produced a new version of Retrospect - Retrospect 8.x
So, as you've been told, you would have to be running a Tiger system with an old version of Retrospect software (5.x or 6.x - you would need to know) assuming you can find the software.
As best I can remember you cannot extract files from a Retrospect backup except using the software since Retrospect did not normally make a file by file backup rather it created an archive of the files in the backup. I'm assuming that the EMC/Retrospect people have told you that old Retrospect backups are not accessible by Retrospect 8.x?

The flaw is here:

...which essentially means it's most likely a volume license and thus not transferable in the first place. The rest is as Steve said - buying software on eBay is risky even on the best of days.
