New INDEX page

hello sadly, i am leaving iWeb behind.. happily, i have a WP blog ready to roll. QUESTION: i want my iWeb site to have a new INDEX page - just want to add an I'm moving image with link to new WP blog. How?

Just add a new blank page to your existing iWeb site, put it at the top in iWeb and add the photo and text you want to it along with a text based hyperlink to the new WP site.
If you have other pages in the existing site you want to have available you could embed the new WP site in an iWeb page like this demo page: Embed One Site Within an iWeb Page. That way you can keep the non blog pages of your existing site (if there are any) and have the new blog included.
If there is nothing in the old site that you want visitor to have access to just put the following code in an HTML snippet on the first page of your current site:

parent.window.location = "URL TO NEW WP SITE"; </script>

How do I make a page that is currently in my "pages" folder into the new Index page?

I've been developing an updated site within the currently live site. All new pages, including the potential index page, are inside the "pages" folder. When it's time to go live with the updated version, how do I deactivate the current index page and make the one residing in the "pages" folder the new, active index page?

To make GoLive know what page you want to be the "home page" ... right-click on the page in the site window and chose "Set as home page"
To make server/browser know what the homepage is that page shud be named "index" or "default" (and is best placed in the root)
So rename the old and new "homepage"

Task in index page still undefined

I tried switching the landing page and naming it index, that helped as far as loding the landing page as the index page. I copied and paste the php script to load the new index page with the login home left panel links one which is a log in and the other which is register. Though when I click on log in link from that panel in doesn't redirect me to the log in page which used to be the index page but now should be the landing page. any reason why its link does not want to redirect to the login page?

Did you update the links to point to the correct page?

Change the name of index to index-z. Then change the name of
indexlayers to
index. Then change the name of index to xindex AND REFUSE TO
UPDATE PAGES.
Then change index-z to index.
Bada bing, bada boom.
Or - do a sitewide find and replace to find all instances of
"indexlayers"
to "index".

I know how to use about:config & have had the usual problems with newtab page tiles but this is more like a bug- using 33.0.1. Doesn't show tiles icon in top right corner just shows a gear that is used to hide the empty tiles that I can't fill with sites. First it would only show 2 rows of 4 columns even though I had it set to 5 & 6 then few days later for no reason they went empty with a serrated line around the tiles & can't drag from the bookmarks---- really bloody annoying!!!!!!! Possibly a setting in the about:config but i can't fig it out?

Creating new JSF2 pages from a running Servlet (3.0) or JSF2 page?

I'm new to JEE6 web apps with JSF 2.x frontends (GlassFish 3), and I still wasn't able to find a solution for this dynamic JSF 2.x problem:
*From inside a running JSF 2.x web app (Servlet 3.0), which possibilities (if any) do I have to dynamically add generated JSF pages (whole new .xhtml files) to specific folders of the (exploded) document root, so that these pages can be dispatched to the client like any traditional, statically-deployed one?*
Background: An app for "promoting" authors/editors (content providers) which has these few main requirements:

<li>New providers will register under <tt>www.acme.com/app/register.xhtml</tt>.</li>
<li>The system will grant each provider "sub-domain" associated with web space under
<tt>www.acme.com/app/providerX</tt> where providerX is an arbitrary sub-domain name chosen by the provider during the registration.</li>
<li>Each provider will initially have some pre-defined pages in their document context root, e.g.
<tt>www.acme.com/app/providerX/index.xhtml</tt>, <tt>about-me.xhtml</tt>, <tt>contact.xhtml</tt>, etc.</li>
<li>Each provider will have an administration console for managing 2 tasks:

Thank you a million for your help, Natalia.I only see mention of xhtml files - that is the easy part. But XHTML files don't actually do anything at all. What about classes like JSF managed beans? jar libraries? database connections and ORM/JPA support which also adds the complexity of having to deal with all the configuration descriptor files? Even if you can automatically deploy all that, replacing existing classes and reloading them is a whole different matter.
My "expert" opinion: this cannot be done with JSF. In fact the only Java web framework which I can think of that has any chance of making something like this possible is Play framework. I'd really take the road that EJP took: make the content dynamic, not the webapp.

403 Forbidden Error on directory but not on index page.

Also keep in mind that I've installed owncloud using the source downloaded from the website. I previously installed using the pacman, but wanted to configure it to be under a sub directory and not as my web root.

How can you specify the height of an index page window?

I want to control the height of an index page window when it
loads.

Urgent help with Index page needed

Can anyone help? I use Dreamweaver 8 to modify and update my
work's website and I've come across a very strange problem that I
haven't seen before. I amended a news page, entitled 'news.html'
and uploaded it as normal last week. I also put a few new pictures
on the index page and did the same. It was fine at that point,
however having looked at the page four days later, the news page
now shows as the home page when you visit the site. It isn't
calling itself the index page as the browser still shows as the
page as 'news.html'.
But the strange thing is, when you first go to the site or
click the homepage from an internal page, you get a very quick
glimpse of the original index page before the news page replaces
it. Almost overwrites it.
VERY confused. Have tried re uploading the index page and am
running out of solutions. Any help most welcome.

Links in template not working with index page

Forgive me, I'm a beginner. I have a site I've built using a
template with a header, footer and a side navigation bar. I need to
be able to update the navigation bar regularly. The template is in
the "templates" folder, most pages are in a "pages" folder, and the
index is at the top level (obviously). But the nav bar from the
template doesn't work for the index page - I get an error in which
the path is missing the site name folder. If I move the index page
into the pages folder, it does work - but then the links within the
text of the index page don't work, and the link back to the index
page from the other pages doesn't work either. I can FORCE them all
to work by fiddling with the path names outside of Dreamweaver, but
that's not a practical long-term solution. What am I doing
wrong?

Creating new publishing page and viewing Properties throwing exeption

Hi,
I am creating new OOB publishing page using “Article Page” layout.
Please note Versioning and approval enabled on this “Pages” library. Also there is no workflow attached to this.
Steps I am following:
Goto Pages library.
Create new Article page from add new item
After that select that item and click on “View Properties” button from top ribbon. please not I have not checkedin page yet. It’s throwing exception as below.

however same steps followed in our DEV environment and seems ok. only this issue with our another environments.
Also once I check in page and then goto "View Properties" then it's working.

Do you have any workflow on the publishing library? The error you mention I've seen sometimes when uses have created workflows that reference custom columns which are then deleted or removed.
Additionally, if a user has insufficient permissions to start an attached workflow, this error can also be encountered.

How to manually change the thumbnail images of the new tab page (without using addons)?

I wanted to customize the images displayed on the thumbnails on the New Tab Page. I tried using the addon "New Tab Tools" to do so and it worked, for a while. Now a bug seems to have affected it (it is not displaying any thumbnails, so I uninstalled it). So I want to try another approach. I want to MANUALLY change the images for each of the thumbnail on the new tab page (of course, the thumbnails are 'pinned').
(I read some other articles related to thumbnails, specifically about DELETING them, and it asked me to open the Firefox Profile Folder, and in there, delete the thumbnails folder. I thought I could simply change the images stored in it instead of deleting them, but there is NO thumbnails folder in the Firefox profile folder (I accessed the profile folder thru the troubleshooting information section in the help menu). So where is this thumbnails folder after all?)
So, how can I do it?

I note you are using Icedragon 26. Not sure I have come across that before.
I guess they provide their own support, as they are apparently offering something based on an outdated and unsupported Firefox26. I see their forum has threads on Icedragon if you search for them, but at a quick glance I see no specific topic

You could always install an official and up to date Firefox 29

You may note the New Tabs page may be subject to a few changes over coming versions of Firefox it is apparently being improved. Firefox itself as Fx29 is also slightly changed from Fx26
