New Info Re: Feb 3rd Pre Order!

I have been hearing like things about this rumor and i had to confirm myself, both with 611 and online chat.
The Feb 3rd Pre Orders are ONLY for people who are ELIGIBLE for upgrade.
Meaning, If you are NOT eligible for upgrade on the 3rd, you CANNOT pre order at all.
If you are eligible for upgrade you can pay the two year agreement and get your phone.
Otherwise you have to wait to the 10th.
So those of us who are eligible for upgrade on the 3rd should not have a problem pre ordering the phone.

If you are not ordering from one of Apple's stores, you should contact the store you are planning on buying from for information about what purchasing services they provide. Custom orders are usually not available, but again ask the store.
If you are planning on buying from Apple online, they typically ship orders as soon as they are available. Same for the Apple retail stores. Online there is no problem customizing your order, but the retail stores usually only carry the standard models. You can add software, RAM and external devices like the Magic Trackpad, but not upgraded processors or video cards.

Xbox One Pre Order Fullfulment question

Ok I know you guys have answered these questions, a million times. I am wondering, I wont be able to attend the midnight launch. I plan on being there right when the doors open that morning. Will you guys have enough consoles for us. I forgot to say I did pre order. I cant imagine your stores not, because that would mean you sold all the pre ordered consoles at the midnight release. Which sounds crazy just typing it. I doubt that will happen any reisurance will help.

You should be fine. A lot of people are spazzing out and in panic mode.
If buy some chance you don't get it on Friday you will have it with in a few weeks.
Personally i would not try to be there at midnight and it isn't worth taking time off from work to get it.
I didn't pre-order an Xbox because my daughter said to wait on one becuase she wants to see which way all her friends go if they get a new system. If your going to change platforms this would be the time to do so.
If none of her friends go PS or Xbox One right away she would still play our Xbox 360 becuase if she cannot play with her friends she has no interest in a new system.
I did pre-order a PS4 that I am picking up tonight but it is a gift and not for home use.

I Pre-order the JT new albums and I changed my mind and cancel it.
But the album's page still shows that I Pre-order it.

I too ordered mine on the 9th (@ 2:45 AM) and like you my expected ship date was 2/18. The phone's already been shipped, scheduled to arrive tomorrow.
Like you, I was a little upset about seeing the 2/18 expected ship date after placing my order. Especially seeing that there were no lines at most of the Verizon & Apple stores but alas, it looks like tomorrow's the day.
I'm not sure if you're a new Verizon customer but assuming you are, is there someone in your family who can purchase the phone and service for you, in their name? Then once your issue is resolved with Verizon perhaps you can transfer it to your name?
I'm new to Verizon and not yet fully familiar with their policies. If you do decide to go this route, please call them to make sure that they allow customers to transfer phones/service from one customer to another.

New iPad (3rd Generation) Pre-Order info.

I pre-ordered a new Apple iPad (3rd generation) 64 GB Wifi+4G LTE yesterday on March 6, 2012. The conformation email I received from Apple said that it would be delivered on March 16, 2012. Is this the true date that my new iPad will be delivered, or is this just the date that it will ship from Apple? Does anyone have any insight on this delivery date question?

I was asking the question because the new iPad 3rd generation is not available for sale until March 16, 2012. The delivery date message on the conformation screen wasn't clear as to when it would be delivered, basically stating the delivery estimate. Not that it's a huge concern, it's that I've never pre-ordered anything from Apple before, and since the product itself won't be available to purchase on the market until March 16, I was simply inquiring as to the exact delivery date being the same date the product being available for sale. I know when I ordered my iPad 2 online on the Apple store, it took about 8 business days from the shipping conformation email I received, and the delivery of the iPad 2. Has anyone else pre-ordered the new iPad 3rd generation online from the Apple store, and have an estimated delivery date of March 16, 2012?

You can always pre-order your new iPhone online and then start the mail in rebate by following this link: http://bit.ly/GGnDDC Or you can always go into the store location and do it all in store on the 19th when the phone is launched. I'm in the same situation. I was up trying to get on the Verizon page at 11:55, kept getting the ECPD error. When finally got through, the Silver Iphone Plus 64 showed arrival of 9-19. At every step of the process, it seemed that I was ordering a phone that would arrive on day1. At no point did it say this was an estimate. At no point did it say it might change. In a big yellow box, it said "9-19". Ordered it, then got confirmation email stating it should arrive at 9-19. Seems like all should be good, right? Order site said 9-19, I've got a confirmation email saying 9-19, done and done.
Then I check the website, and suddenly it changed to 10-14?!?!?!? I feel like this was a bait and switch. I was able to pickup an iphone5 in a local store on launch day, and would not have locked myself into a preorder through Verizon if I had known this would happen!
So, that leads back to the original questions. Lets assume I walk into a Verizon store on 9-19, and there is an available iphone6 plus just sitting there, can I either get that phone as fulfillment of my pre-order. Or, cancel my pre-order and buy that phone right then and there?

Pre-ordered Macbook Air, how do I transfer my DV Camera videos the new Mac?

Okay, I just pre-ordered a new Macbook Air to complement my Mac Pro...
There is one problem though...
I bought the Air so I can start editing the video I shot while on the go, so if there's no Firewire support to the Air, how do I transfer the videos that I recorded from the DV Tape to Macbook Air?
Do I actually have to buy a new tapeless camcorder?
(note: I was planning on buying a new HD tapeless camcorder, but at later time... But if Macbook Air cannot connect to any Mini DV camera, do I have to buy the new camera early?)

Hi there! Don't cancel that order just yet...
Firstly, as already stated, Firewire cameras won't work with the Air. So you'll be needing one of those shiny new tapeless cameras.
As for how much space HD video takes up, it depends on what format the camera shoots in.
iMovie '08 works great with the latest tapeless cameras that shoot on SD cards, in the AVCHD format. A great example is the Panasonic HDC-SD1, or the SD5 and SD9.
These cameras can fit up to 6 hours of footage onto a 16gb SD-HC card. So, as long as you have about 16gb of space left on your MacBook Air's hard drive, you'll be able to fit about 6 hours of footage. Of course, this will vary depending on what quality setting you shoot in.
Once you're done with your edit, do you need to keep that video on your MacBook Air's drive? Probably not- consider archiving it to a usb hard drive, or even a wireless network drive. Or just delete it once you've burned to dvd via a usb dvd-burner, or uploaded it to the internet. Viola- you've freed up enough room for your next project.
If you're going to be using your notebook for editing all the time, then definitely consider either the MacBook or the MacBook Pro. But for occasional editing, the Air will do just fine.
As always, it depends on your needs.

The shipping date can't always be precisely determined due to potential complications. I believe Apple is in the middle of some kind of production and/or legal processes so they don't know precisely when they'll be able to ship. Don't worry.
