New install... moved iTunes... Apps are gone?

I just created a brand new system w/ Snow Leopard, and migrated all my stuff over successfully.
(No more cobwebs for me!)
Although I use an external HD, iTunes is working perfectly (I know many folks have problems), HOWEVER, my iPhone Aps aren't there!
They're still on my phone, but they're not in iTunes, even though they're in my iTunes Library.
Do I need to de-link my phone from my other library somehow? (my old system is still up on another HD, I haven't zapped it yet).

They weren't there for some reason, but I just re-added them by dragging them into iTunes.
I didn't realilze that was un-checked by default though. Thanks!

ITunes library help - moved to external drive and now my apps are gone?

I moved my iTunes library to an external drive, but now my apps are gone? I do have iTunes match and iCloud, so my songs are all on the cloud, but none of my apps are showing...
I copied everything over, consolidated, but I must have messed something up as I think I have too many library files on the external drive now. I can see all my files on the external drive, but they are not showing up when I open itunes. It looks like it linked to a new copy of a library as only my most recent apps are showing, nad none of my existing ones are on itunes. What should I do to fix this? How do I know which files to delete?

I followed the instructions from Apple support to move itunes to an external drive, did what it said (obviously I messed something up). I then started itunes and missed the part where it says to tell itunes where the library was, and consequently itunes created a new library with none of my apps or anything in it.
All of my music is on icloud and I als ohave itunes match, so all of my music is on the cloud.
I have read some of the other postings to delete the newly made (and missing apps) itunes library file and ithen point it to the correct library file, but I am now paranoid I would delete the wrong one.

Try rebooting your iPad and see if they reappear.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If they still do not show up, make sure hat you don't have content restrictions set that could prevent certain apps from showing up on your iPad. Settings>General>RestrictionsAllowed Content.
if you still don't see them, connect your iPad to iTunes on your computer and you should see them in the iPad mini screens on the right side of iTunes after the iPad has been selected under "devices" and when you are in the apps pane of iTunes.

Same as you would if you bought a pc; copy everything from your old computer to your new one. Then you can just sync everything from the new computer, as you did with the old one.

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

I updated my iphone to 4.3.3 now all my apps are gone!!!!!!! Help please!!

Hi, yesterday i connected my phone up to itunes and it started downloading and installing the 4.3.3, once it had finished it told me i had to restore my phone as it wasnt working. after i done that, my phone was working but now all my apps are gone, including all the ones that i have paid for.

Im having the same problem....with mine, i get the pop on only one of my news apps but no vibration...no sound yet its with all of the aps minus one. Its def a software issue.

How do I sync my old library with a new install of iTunes on a seperate drive?

I just recently installed an SSD on my PC and I want to run iTunes off of the SSD. My library currently resides on my old HDD witch also has the most current version of iTunes on as well. How can I sync the library that resides on my old HDD to the new install of iTunes on my SSD?

can't if you do not have access to the old library (the usual workaround is to backup the old library and import it to the new itunes)
for important data...
sync your existing contacts with icloud, your text messages will not be disrupted, music will sync with whatever music you have on your new itunes, photos shoud still be in the camera roll (I would sync them to photostream before you sync, just in case). Any photos on your phone that are not in camera roll or photostream... if you lost those pictures with the computer crash I would take screen shots (lock button + home button at the same time) of each photo so they show up in the camera roll. App data may or may not be lost. In my experience, it depends on the app. Some of the apps recognize your apple ID and sync data over the internet with servers, some do not. I would take note of important data (such as passwords in a password keeper if you have such an app) just in case if you lose that data.

All of my apps are gone, and I'm having trouble with iCloud

Let me preface this by saying that Apple made me change my password a few days ago, before I downloaded the new IoS software. So I synced my music, videos and apps to my PC this afternoon before downloading the new software. I downloaded the software, and now my apps are missing from my iPad AND my PC, even after I synced them. To make things even more confusing, when I entered my new password, it said it was invalid. I entered my old one, and it worked. No apps there. And I tried verifying my Apple ID, I clicked the link and filled out the info, and it said there was already a user with my e-mail. I'm trying to re-access it, and it says it still hasn't been verified on my iPad. What do I do?

That's because your son's ID was used to make the purchases. ALL purchases are permanently associated with whatever Apple ID was used to originally obtain them. Restore. Everything is restored except the password. Note that a Restore can take quite a while. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. HT1414 apps are gone on my iphone 5!

i recently got the new iphone 5. I had backed up my iphone 4 before restoring the iphone 5 as my phone. everything synced up, but all my apps (aside from the apple apps) are gone. how do i fix this?

i did select "sync apps" and when it asked me to sync and it would erase all my current apps, i cancelled.

i transferred my back up thru itunes. but when i plug in my iphone 4 again, on the apps tab, when i click sync, it says that it will erase all apps that i have now and replace them with what i have. not sure if that is what i should do. but i clicked it.
Sync Apps should have been selected all along - from day one.
Selecting it after the fact - after apps were downloaded direct from the iPhone wiill cause all apps on the iPhone being erased.
With the iPhone connected, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone 4.

How do perform a new install of iTunes on C drive, but locate the library on a second internal drive?

I realize this topic has been kind of beat to death, but I'm not finding exactly the information I'm searching for. There is a lot of information about splitting libraries, but I want to do a new install, and have my media located on a separate drive, with nothing but the software on the C drive.
I have a pretty massive music library (noting new or special about that), so an new install of iTunes is always a huge chore. Like many other users in posts I've read with similar questions, my C drive is SSD (also have another dedicated to something else entirely), and so I have purchased a standard spinning drive to handle my iTunes media, and externals for everything that isn't meant for iTunes. Basically, I need the library database to be located on my 'E' drive (let's say), and I will move most of my files manually. I just need iTunes to find them after doing so, and then I'll simply resync my iPhone to the new setup. I have a few reservations about that, but that is a different topic.Right now, I just need to get iTunes installed and have it recognize/find media on a separate drive. Also, I'm running Windows 7, 64-bit, in case that is relavant.
Sorry if there are a million thread with the same info, but all I was finding was how to split the library, and that's not at all what I want to achieve. Thanks in advance!

hello again Chris - I hope you're able to help, or someone as knowledgeable.
I've started another discussion because installing this newest version of iTunes has caused problems like I've never encountered.
- I did a fresh install as I intended (new PC running Win 7 64-bit). Installation is smooth, and opens fine. Then I create the new library on "I" drive, iTunes then stalls when opening. I just tried this again, and it has been unresponsive for ~10 min, not fully open.
- I see the new library just fine when I peek in the "I"drive.
- In a previous attempt, I used an existing library file, iTunes still stalls, though it loaded the content. It just freezes when I enter the store. The content loaded fine. Still, couldn't access new material or materials I've purchased and won't download after installing and trying to access iTunes store.
-each time I try, I unstall every connected program to iTunes, even removing items from registry.
I'm seriously perplexed. I've been using iTunes since 2005 and have never had any kind of issue like this. this PC is a gaming rig. Top of the line components all the way. I even cancled overclock settings to make sure that wasn't the culprit. Still no joy. I had iTunes installed on this machine about 3 months back, but since "C" drive is SSD, I uninstalled until I recently purchased a standard HD specifically for media content. While writing this, it just brough up the tutorial. I click an option (iTunes in the Cloud) just to see if it moves ahead. It does nothing. I have to minimize the browser to access. Apple no longer offers support - they want me to pay to help with free software for which I've already spent loads of money on for content. This is absolutely insane. What has changed in the last few months to make this software behave this way? Previous versions HAVE worked on this machine. I simply couldn't contain the library on my drive. No help was offed on my other post. I'm desparate at this point. Please. Someone from the community or Apple help me. I've got literally several thousands of dollars of media that I cannot access on my PC. ****, the OS is lean and I barely have any software installed. This makes no sense at all. Sorry that I'm all over the place. If you have failed to make sure that any apps purchased on the iphone were transferred to your computer before updating, then you will have to redownload.
Open itunes store, click Purchased, under Quick Links.

Crash during sync, now all my apps are gone.

My laptop and iphone crashed during a sync. Laptop would lock up as soon as the phone was plugged in, and the phone started random reboots and freezes.
I reinstalled WinXP and itunes on the laptop, but still could not sync. The phone would come up "sync in progress", but then nothing happened. Left it sit overnight, and sync still would never complete.
Restored the phone to factory settings, and now everything seems fine. Only problem is that all of my downloaded apps are gone. I can see the history where I purchased them in the itunes store but they are not in itunes. If I try to reload them it wants me to pay for them again. Is there any way to recover previously purchased apps?

You can re-download purchased apps for free. Click on buy, click yes to I want to purchase, another popup will appear, you have already purchased, do you want to re-download, click yes.
