New install of Elements 8 - Organizer crashes
New install of Elements 8 on Windows 7 64 bit machine. When I start the Organizer the program crashes and attempts to send a report to Adobe.
Since this is a brand new install and other programs are working nomally I am not sure where to go.
The log file of the Organizer is seen in blue below

That's a new error I haven't seen before.
Try running the Organizer as administrator (which on Windows 7 is different than running in an account that's an administrator). Right-click the PSE icon on the desktop or the Start-menu item and select Run As Administrator. On some installations, PSE doesn't ensure that it has proper file permissions for all the folders and files it needs to write.

Hold down your Shift key while launching the Organizer. This would open up the Catalog Manager. Highlight your catalog at the bottom of the window, and choose "Repair" and then "Optimize".
If that doesn't solve it, from the Catalog Manager, try creating a new catalog.
If Organizer still fails to launch, try following steps –
For Win
Delete the Organizer preferences. (Organizer preferences are located at %appdata%/Adobe/Elements Organizer/11.0/Organizer). Delete the "status.dat" and "psa.prf" file from this folder.
Navigate to folder on your machine where application is installed. Right click "PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe" and run it as Administrator.
For Mac
Delete the Organizer preferences [Organizer preferences are located at //Users/[Your User Account]/Library/Preferences/]
Delete the file “com.Adobe.Elements Organizer.11.0.plist” from above location and relaunch the Organizer.

Firstly the locations in the thread I linked to appear to me to just the preferences files rather than the actual catalogues. I think my catalogues are in the default location which is "C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs".
It was the catalogue itself which was corrupted and specifically the file thumb.5.cache in the root directory of the catalogue.I deleted this file and hey presto Elements Organizer will now load. Everything except the thumb nails seems to be fine so after a few hours rebuilding the thumbs I am back to where I was before the corruption.
My hypothesis for the cause of the crash was windows performing a restart after installing updates overnight while I had the organiser open. -
Elements Organizer crashes as soon as it starts
On my desktop I cannot run Elements Organizer. I have tried running it from PRE and from PSE and also running it directly by running PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe. Organizer starts and quickly flashes the blue start screen and then immediately crashes to the error report.
I have seen the suggestions to switch off Auo Analyzer, but this is not possible because this is an option inside of Organizer.
I tried these apps on my Notebook and everything works fine, so I am sure that my installation software is not corrupt.
I have un/re-installed. I have updated my nVidia drivers. I have closed down all other running utilities without success.
Everything else on my desktop computer is running beautifully, so I cannot imagine what is causing this problem?Okay, here is the fix that worked for me. I found this on the website.
If a photo upload to an online service fails, the Organizer may then crash every time you try to restart it. Reinstalling has no effect. To troubleshoot this, start the Organizer and let it crash. Then check the contents of the file:PSE 8 XP: C:\Documents and Settings\username [mine was Administrator]\Application Data\Adobe\Elements Organizer\v.8\Organizer\log.txt
If the last line of the text is "Initializing OLS" then you have a problem.
To fix it:
Close all open applications.
In Windows Explorer for Windows XP, Navigate to C:Documents and Settings\[your user name]\Application Date\Adobe\Online Services.
Delete the Photoshop Elements 7.0.0 folder.
Open the Photoshop Elements 7 Organizer. The program will re-create the Photoshop Elements 7.0.0 folder and the online services data files.

Why is elements organizer crashing?
Since I tried to download elements and premiere elements 10 my elements organizer reports crash and will not open. the edit function does open. Also around that same time I allowed flash player upgrade and tried to go to shutterfly to creat a photo book. My internet connection is less that optimum certainly, but it usually gets the job done.
If you are using the auto-analysis options, try turning them off for a while. It often improves performance.
Go to Edit à Preferences à Media-Analysis
Then uncheck everything.

I agree. In some ways it is a real step backward. I would not recommend "upgrading" to
PSE9 based on one day of working with it. Lost the ability to see all files in folder view and it is
EXTREMELY SLOW.
I really wish I hadn't changed to PSE9 and converted my catalog, which it didn't fully convert properly.
Stay away from this upgrade! -
Photo Elements Organizer crashes
Downloaded the trial version of PSE 9 and opened the photo editing page. When I selected the Organizer icon and attempted to import photos from i Photo the Organizer crashed. The only was I could get out of the program was to force quit. Repeated efforts have given the same results. As far as I can tell I have never seen the Welcome Page. I have had some success with the PE page and have been able to import individual images there and have been able to edit those images. What am I doing wrong?
The best I can tell there are 7221 items in the catalog. Scrolling thru the catalog I see a lot of images that I did not originally take or to my knowledge import. You can see from the above threads that I was not able to import directly from IPhoto so I did a work around and imported all the files individually.
I would like to start over completely but am not sure how to do that. How can I just delete everything and begin the trial again?

Photoshop elements organizer crashed every time I try to open.
The first time when I tried to open photo shop elements photo organizer it shut right down. Tried 3x more times and the same thing. I thought maybe my initial install was corrupted. So I uninstalled and did a re-install. Tried to open again and encountered the same thing. I checked vis google and found out other people are having the same issue. I'm running win7 pro 64 bit. What is the solution to this problem?
I wish I knew the answer as I'm having similar problems but with the Photoshop part which will not open. I get the moving bar and then nothing but in my case the Organiser opens. I also run Win 7 64bit and have deleted and downloaded the software at least 5 times with no success. It looks like a very expensive mistake and I wish I had never seen the software.

Elements Organizer crashes EVERY time on Macbook pro i7 with 8g ram.
THis is my Third requst for help- the program doesn't work on my machine, but I meet the specs.. Program doesn't open.. get the splash creen then it crashes. Running a macbook pro, i7 Mavericks, blah blah blah
You replied in a post referencing 10.6.8 that you had 'the same problem'. Did you upgrade to Maverick AFTER installing PSE? New install of Elements 9 on MacBook Air keeps closing
I just installed Elements 9 for Mac on my MacBook Air and when I open it I get a welcome screen which I dont want I dont get it on my iMac.
Once I have Elements open if I go to Aperture to drag and drop an image for editing Elements closes and I have to open it again. I tried re installing but it still doesn't work.
How can I stop the Welcome screen, how can I drag and drop images from Aperture without Elements closing?They are not from elements for windows, which has a totally different file structure. If you have left your windows in icon view you will have a terrible time finding anything anywhere. To get into list view click this button at the top of any finder window:
The various finder window views are very useful for different things. The coverflow view is handy for looking through new photo imports, for example. You can just press the space bar (for quick look) when you want a larger look at one of the thumbs. Tap it again to close quick look.
Column view (the button to the right of list view) is also much more useful than icon view. -
Elements organizer crash due to libiomp5mt.lib problem
I am running Elemnts 11 on WIN7 Home Pro.
Photoshop Elements 11 Editor runs fine but when trying to run the organizer it starts, looks normal for about 2-3 seconds while it is loading folders with pictures and then a dos-window pops up saying:
"OMP: Error #15: Initializing libiomp5mt.lib, but found libiomp5md.dll already initialized.
OMP: Hint: this may cause performance degradation and correctness issues. Set environment variable KMP_DUPLICATE_LIB_OK=TRUE to ginore this problem and force program to continue anyway. for about 1 second bore this window and elements shuts down (I had to take a photo to read the dos text, i.e. it does not stay but shuts down with elements without possibility to interfere).
I have read one similar discussion here that talks about codecs but I am not aware of any purchased or other codecs that cause problems on other applications.
I did un- and re-install elements to no avail.

I'm not sure its a codec problem (! just mentioned the codec since the only adobe-discussion with reference to my problem did seem to involve codecs)
unfortunately I do not know how to verify whether my codecs are up-to-date or not. In autoruns I seem to be able to list/filter for codecs but as to their being up-to-date....?! -
New install photoshop cs3 after crash

It is a valid key (on the box). When I tried this via the phone , I got the message , you will be transferred to a help line -> but the help line exist no longer.

New install of ff15 always crashes in less than a minute
After way too much pestering, I upgraded from a product that worked, ff3.6, to one that doesn't, ff15. It upgraded 3 plugins.
Now when I open ff, it doesn't matter if I try to actually use it or just sit and look at a blank page, it crashes in 30 seconds or so.
Try going through that more than 20 times on a fresh install!
Using XP. But that gave me the excuse to try Chrome, and I've found that it's very stable and much, much faster. And of course, I'm using Chrome now to send this message.*ahem*

Elements Organizer does not install when reinstalling PSE10
I have a problem that I cannot seem to resolve. Previously Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 had been running flawlessly on my computer and was easily opened by clicking the desktop icon which had a "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer\Photoshop Elements 10.0.exe" target. After uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop Elements 10, when I click on the Desktop icon to start the application, I get a dialog box that says "The item 'Photoshop Elements 10.0.exe' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved so this shortcut will no longer work properly". If I right click the Photoshop Elements 10 desktop icon and check properties, the Target says "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer\Photoshop Elements 10.0.exe". When I open Explorer and navigate to where the target says the application file should be, the "Elements 10 Organizer" directory does not exist. The only directory that does exist is the "Photoshop Elements 10" directory and it contains the 'PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe'. Yes if I click on that file the Editor opens, however when I try to load the Organizer workspace once the editor is open, it does not load because the entire folder and application is missing. I even tried searching the entire C-Drive to find the Photoshop Elements 10.0.exe file but it was nowhere to be found.
To be specific, I had PSE8, PSE9, and PSE10 installed on my 64-bit Windows 7 Professional w/SP1 computer. I decided to uninstall PSE8 & 9 because I had just purchased PSE12 and wanted to make room for the PSE12 installation. When I tried to first uninstall PSE8, the uninstaller stopped with the warning that PSE8 was installed in the same directory as PSE10. The uninstall then terminated when I clicked on OK. Next tried to uninstall PSE9 and received the same warning and uninstaller termination. The same thing happened when I tried to uninstall PSE10. Faced with the situation that all three products were installed in the same directory and would not uninstall individually, I found it necessary to uninstall all three applications manually according to the directions on the Adobe's knowledgebase.
To uninstall PSE8, PSE9, & PSE10, first thing I did was create a system restore point which is something I always do just in case something goes wrong. Then starting with PSE8, I first printed out the Photoshop Elements Help "Manually remove Photoshop Elements 8 | Windows that I found at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/826/cpsid_82673.html. Subsequently I printed out the directions for each product, PSE8, PSE9, and PSE10, are all on the Adobe website. Next I followed the directions contained in each article except for running the product uninstaller as I mentioned above and removed all three applications then rebooted my machine.
Next I reinstalled PSE10 and tried to open it only to find that it did not fully install especially the Elements Organizer. As mentioned you can open the Editor by going directly to the executable file however you cannot access the Organizer because it did not install and cannot be found anywhere on the computer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled PSE10 five time now each time using the product Uninstaller plus the "Manually remove PSE10" directions and I still cannot get the Elements Organizer to install.
My question is does Adobe have a utility that can be run after manually installing a specific product that would find registry entries that were not removed after completing the manual removal process? The problem I see is the manual removal process which shows possible registry entries to remove manually is built on the assumption that you were able to run the Uninstaller which is not the case with my problem.
Secondly does anyone have any suggestions on how to install both the PSE10 Organizer and Editor?I believe I found a solution but I need help in changing some of the parameters to reflect for a United States program install.
If you go to "Elements 10 Organizer is not installed [SOLUTION]" at http://forums.adobe.com/message/4745941 you will note the Poster says it is possible to force the install of Elements Organizer 10 by using the command line:
msiexec /i "E:\Adobe Photoshop Elements 10\ElementsOrganizer\Elements 10 Organizer.msi" TRANSFORMS=1031.mst ELEMENTS_DE_DE=1 ORGANIZER_DE_DE=1 STARTWATCHSERVICE=1 SUPPRESSREBOOT=0 NOT_STANDALONE=1 /l*v "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\OrganizerInstall.log".
I found that the above command line input does in fact start the setup for the PSE10 "Elements Organizer" Installer except it is in a language other than English.
Is there anyone familiar enough with coding and command line prompts to change whatever paramenters are necessary to have the installer run in English.
Hopefully there are some Adobe Staff monitoring this message that can answer the question for me.
