New installatino of cs6 and win7/64: CS uses wrong AppData folder!

Hi,
strange problem: I installed Win7/64 together with CS6 "clean" on a SSD. But if I want to save a PDF setting in a .joboption file, Adobe uses such a folder:
i:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings
But "i" is a blank partition/hard disk, my Users folder is on the partition C
What the hell is going on? A freh installation of CS6 and such problems?
How can I change this behaviour?

Photoshop requires 512 Meg of VRAM or more to use the 3D features - that's been the same for version 14 (CC) and now 15 (CC 2014). Check Help->System Info to see how much your card says it has.

Mountain Lion has created new user log-ins and moved old Users to a separate folder

Mountain Lion has created new user log-ins and moved old Users to a separate folder.
The new users are set-up as "standard" and the old ones were "Administrators"
All files are missing, i.e. no desktop files etc. But they are located in a folder called "Users 1" which is a new folder.
Can anyone help?

follow the "Ratatapa's" instructions.
1/ boot on Recovery part (command R)
2/ find "terminal" in disk utilities
and write "resetpassword" for root. Enter a new password for the root user.
3/ reboot as root user (or when your are login, log out and typing to open a other user "root")
in the "system pref" panel, open "users and groups" and then create new user with the same name, same password.. normally it must be asking you about "You are already an account with the same name" say yes. And it's done.
4/ Log out. re-log as the normal user. desactivated the root user.

I would like to upgrade my monitor for photo editing using CS6 and lightroom 5. I have spent a lot of time reviewing several monitors and just as confused as when I started. I am looking for a monitor in the $500 to $900 range but want to make an intelligent decision. HELP!

If you have a subscription there should be no problem. You should be able to install on two machines. If you try to activate a third machine I believe the activation server will deactivate all your activations. Then activate the current machine. You can then re-activate one of you other machines.
If you have a perpetual licence and have two activation you will need Adobe Customer Support to assist you.

I Have "New" MBP (Mid 2009) and Would Like to Use Airport Extreme

This might be a very basic question , but I do not know the answer so I came to some experts for help. I have a "new" MBP OS 10.6.4 SL. I received it about 1 month ago after the genius bar could not fix a 3 year-old MBP. At one time the Airport Extreme was hooked up when I first got the 3-year-old MBP, but I kept running into troubles with it so I purchased a Verizon MiFi2200.
I have this new MBP, I still have the MiFi2200 from Verizon which I access via Airport. I would like to try the 3 year-old Airport Extreme again, but I am wondering if having the Verizon MiFi2200 will allow me to also have the Airport Extreme. Also, I am wondering if this Airport Extreme is too old for what is currently available (and if it is secure enough). I would need to get help from Applecare. I tried once, when I first started having trouble with it, and it was way beyond my ability. I think I made things worse and I hope I did not do any hardware damage. I tried to set it up, after having it disconnected for about 2 years, and I did not call applecare.
So I am wondering if I can have the MiFi2200 installed by VZAccessManager (but turned off when I use the Airport Extreme) and the 3 year-old Airport Extreme 802.11n Wi-Fi Base Station set-up at the same time. Also, is this model still OK to use (I really have no idea how long something like this Airport Extreme is good to use), and if I can use it, are there online instructions to set it up or would it be best to get Applecare's help. I would also like to know how I could find out if there have been any firmware updates or other updates for this Airport Extreme since it was last used (about 2 years ago)

OK, I am not following you exactly and I guess it is important to know what the existing set-up is like. Maybe you will understand my amateurish language. Before I moved in to this condo, the manager of the complex asked me if I need to use the ethernet ports in the rooms or will I be setting up a wireless connection. I said, for now I will be using the ethernet ports in the rooms of the condo. She said Ok, I will be up to your condo to put in a modem. (She could have said router or modem, I am not sure if there is a difference, but I do know the Airport Extreme is considered a router.) She opened this box that is on the wall while she said this is where the "T1" line comes into your condo, and T1 (I think I have the right term she used) is the fastest way to get around the internet. In the box in the wall is an electrical outlet (which the tiny blue modem (I will call this a modem because I am not sure what it is) is plugged into. In the back of the tiny blue modem are 5 ethernet ports and that is all, except for the power cord which connects to the side of the tiny blue modem. In the box, already screwed into place is a CAT5 ethernet strip, for lack of a better term that has 12 ethernet ports but only 4 are actually marked. I think the four that are marked are the ones that can be used, if I needed this many, but I am only using 3 and the ethernet cable goes from one of the ethernet ports on this CAT5 strip which is connected to the T1 line, and one of the 3 ethernet cables goes from the back of the tiny blue modem to one of the ethernet ports on this CAT5 strip (one that is marked as previously described) So I can hook up to the internet by using one of the 3 ethernet plugs in the various rooms of the condo or I can use the MiFi2200 from Verizon for a wireless connection. I have already told you why I prefer not to use the Verizon MiFi2200 and why I would like to set-up my Airport Extreme.
As far as wanting to use the existing ethernet ports in the 3 rooms, I do not care about that unless the Airport Extreme does not work. The manager who initially hooked up the tiny blue modem said if I want a wireless connection I do not need the tiny blue modem. If I do want to use the ethernet ports in the rooms via an ethernet cable, I need the tiny blue modem. If this is tru or if I can have one and not the other, I really did not get a sense I could or could not have both a wireless and ethernet connections at the same time.
Why would I want to plug the 3 or 4 ethernet cables that go from the tiny blue modem to the ethernet strip? The ethernet strip has about 10 ethernet ports, 3 of which are marked and I assume only those 3 can be used since there are only 3 actual ethernet ports in the walls in various room for connection.
I know this is a different set-up but when I used the Airport Extreme before, I had a cable come in to my house from Comcast which was hooked up to a modem. One ethernet cable went from the modem to the back of the Airport Extreme which after Applecare helped me set up the Airport Extreme the whole house was wireless.
In this condo, which is smaller than the house I had, why do I need all 3 ethernet cables to go from the CAT5 strip to the back of the Airport Extreme? Again, on the 12 port CAT5 strip, only 3 are labeled with some code, and those 3 go out to the wall ethernet ports.

In 10.7 there is not a twain that works with Photoshop for importing with all the options needed to scan transparencies. I noticed that when I was scanning in October 2012 I was still using CS6 so somehow I was managing to be able to use all the scan features.
They sell 2nd party software (VieScan and Silverscript)which I found to be just mimially OK and very hard to use.
I just want to scan like I used to.
Can I use time machine to go back to an earlier operating sysytem LEOPARD, and then do my scans and then save the photos and them go back to the LION system?
I spent 7 hours trying crazy solutions - downloading Windows CS2 Photoshop and then using a program so I could run it on the apple. Then I couldn't figure out how to put a plug in for the scanner in the stupid windows Photoshop program. Googgling the computer like a mad woman trying to ask questions. I am not giving up...

Playing a game probably won't use much, if any... Downloading all those cool games and apps could have easily used that up, however.
Use WiFi whenever you can or download apps to your computer, then sync them to the phone with the cable.

Premiere Pro CS6 and h.264, something is wrong?

I've had huge problems with h.264 and adobe premiere pro. Basically I record footage using the Logitech C920 webcam, which converts on the fly to h.264. The problem I am having is when I transfer this over to adobe premiere pro, there seems to be a progressive desync in the sound and my mouth movement. Putting it simply...at the start of the video it is in sync, at the end of the video (if it is about 40mins long) it is about 5 seconds off.
Now, i'm aware it sounds like some sort of frames per second problem. However both the audio and video track show as the same in adobe premiere pro. Also, when playing the recording through windows media player, it is all in sync throughout the video.
This leads me to beleive that the way adobe premiere reads the file as it copies it over is somehow not quite right?
I do not understand how it can be in sync throughout in windows media player, but when put into adobe premiere pro there is progressive sound desync.
Please assist if you can.

I am well behind the curve and ashamed. Be that as it may, I remain on OS10.6.8. AICS5.5 has performed well for me, and being the risk-averse coward that I am, I've stuck with what has worked. On a lark, today I downloaded AICS6, haunted all the while by memories of posts here about folks returning to 5.5 because of 6's (and then CC's) problems and insufficiencies.
Pattern maker and gradients on a stroke in CS6 are pleasing additions. I'm sure I'll find others. But can I trouble you for a brief overview of the deficiencies and setbacks in CS6 relative to 5.5? It would be helpful as I try to navigate from ancient software history to slightly less ancient software history.

I see the significant differences between the tracing features in CS5 and CS6. And now that you mention it, I recall some folks reporting some aspects of the CS6 version being better, some worse. But no GLITCHES in the newer version that I recall.
And yes, the potential Pantone problem is easily remedied.
Not to beat a dead horse, but I thought there had been reports of some bona fide DEFICIENCIES and BUGS in CS6 and maybe a few useful features that had been REMOVED from prior versions or that are PERFORMING LESS WELL. For example, one that I recall is that you can no longer select multiple layers in the Layers Panel by option-dragging through them (a pity).
Oh well. I'd posted the question looking for other such changes to be aware of (I know it's been a while since CS6 was "the version").

Could you please tell me if you can create several layout grid designs (in the same website) depending on the page layout you need for each
page?
The reason I am asking is my web site has different information on each page (which is laid out differently)
Maybe create layout.css and layout2.css and so on. AND TIE EACH PAGE IN WITH A PHP INCLUDE NAVIGATION PLACED ON EACH PAGE.

Different layouts for different pages? It's certainly possible, but I don't recommend it. Ideally you want to work with ONE FluidGrid Layout throughout your site with some additional CSS rules for optional regions (classes & styles) that may not be required on all pages. Some examples of optional regions would be contact forms, tables, definition lists, re-usable floats, etc...
If your Responsive Design is well planned, you shouldn't need more than one main structure for mobile, one for tablet and one for desktops. If you go down the path of having different structures for 3 devices AND each site page, you will soon be wrestling with a 10,000 lb. gorilla: Herculean to build and not much fun to maintain.
Server-side includes for site wide headers, footers & navigation are a very good idea whether your site is Responsive or not. I use them all the time.

How do I uninstall adobe cs6 and re install it

I had to wipe my mac's hard drive. When I went to put CS6 back onto my computer I dragged it from my external hard drive. Now every time I try to open one of the programs I am being told to uninstall it and reinstall it via error 16
When I went to try and find the uninstaller it doesn't show up on my utilities. Is there a way I can reinstall it onto my computer. I do not have the original external hard drive with me as i am out of the country and I do not have the download. Is there a way I can get the download again since I only have the software on one computer?
