New iOS5 Lock Screen Features

Hello all,
I installed the new OS over the weekend. Sometimes when I fire up my 4th Gen iPod Touch I get the old lock screen, sometimes the new one (with the camera button, shorter unlock slider, new reminders, etc.). How can I make sure I get the new one all the time?

Lock Screen feature is interrupting downloads and file sharing

When ever i leave the Macbook pro (non retina) for file download and update, the Lock Screen feature stops the downloads. And it stops the file sharing too.
i can't share or sync files while screen lock is active. How i can configure the lock screen to not disrupt my download and or file sharing?

To verify if the issue is directly related to your Powerline adapters, please try connecting an Ethernet cable between the two routers. Of course, if the distance is too great to do this practically, bring the AirPort Express back to the location of the TC. If the issue is resolved, I would double-check your Powerline configuration. Remember these have to be installed so that they are on the same electrical ciruit. That each outlet that you connect one of these two must lead back to the same circuit breaker at the main electrical box. These adapters cannot "jump" circuits.

You can turn Auto-Lock off and you can choose not to have the Passcode Lock feature enabled, but there will always "slide to unlock" available after manually turning the iPhone's screen off with the sleep/wake button or with Auto-Lock enabled without having the Passcode Lock feature enabled.
This is to prevent anything from being selected on the iPhone after the screen has been turned off or or placing the iPhone in sleep mode if the iPhone were in your pocket and the home button or sleep/wake button was selected without your knowledge.

New Camera from Lock Screen feature makes passcode unecessry!!!

Anyone else notice that when you access the camera from the lock screen that if you then hit the home button you are not required to enter your passcode. Major security issue there!!!

That's because the phone is not in lock mode, set the settings to ask the password after two minutes, then leave it alone for 3 minutes ( you can do it!!!); then try it!!!

New Droid Lock Screens For Kin TwoM

Hello all Kin TwoM owners...
(The last thread on this got pretty messy and was no longer a good place for me to post the lock screens I'll be making for the Kin TwoM- I'd like to keep this new thread as a simple and complete list to come check out lock screens and send them to your phone.)
I created a new Droid wallpaper for my Kin TwoM that essentially makes the lock screen look like it's a Droid...
You can use the lock icon and swipe in the exact direction it's telling you to and it works the same as swiping from left to right diagonally as you already do...
There's no benefit to having this lock screen other than aesthetics...it just makes your phone look a little cooler...
I'll post more here as I'm able to create them.

Directions to get one of the below screens on your phone...follow these simple steps in order:
Save the picture below to your desktop by right clicking it, and then choosing to save (make sure you know/remember where you saved it on your computer)
Then start a new email in your chosen email client (Gmail, Yahoo, Corporate, etc.)
Choose to add an attachment to the email
Find the picture and choose it as your attachment
Send the email with attachment to your Kin TwoM using your own cell number with this specific address suffix: @vzwpix.com
If your number was (123) 456-7890, then you'd send the email with wallpaper attachment to: [email protected]
When you get the pic text on your Kin, just tap on the picture to bring it up full screen, then press "save".
Go to Camera>Pictures, then choose the picture you just saved to your phone and designate it as your wallpaper the way you would any other picture you took on the phone.
You may want to stretch the picture just a little bit to make sure it takes up the whole screen, but I got it pretty close so that's up to you...

Does 10.6.8 have a lock screen feature?

My screen locks when two apps are open at the same time, is this a feature? Can I turn it off? The two apps are apples' own music software Logic pro and a third party app called EastWest Symphonic Coirs, when Logic is open and I call up the choir to sing a part Logic no longer responds to comands-it remains locked until I close the other app.

Vimeo support was added with iMovie 11.
If you have an older version of iMovie, you can use the SHARE menu to SHARE/MOVIE in the size you want to your desktop (or somewhere you can find it). Then it is easy to upload to Vimeo through the Vimeo web site.

I've updated my iphone 4 to ISO 5. I could not connect to icloud yet however does this expalin why some of the features of ISO 5 are not working like the camera lock screen feature?

to see the camera icon, double-click the home button when you are on the lock screen. this will show the music controls and the camera icon. double click the home bgutton again to close them.

I was confused at the beginning with the camera on lock screen feature, than I read You should press twice the Home Button at the lock screen to have the camera button showing up... am i right?

Lock screen in gnome 3.2

Before the upgrade the upgrade to gnome 3.2 the following feature was working ok: whenever the laptop lid is closed the system suspends to RAM, whenever the laptop lid is opened up, the system resumes and the screen is locked. The screen lock feature was only enabled after
gsettings set org.gnome.power-manager lock-use-screensaver 'false'
(as per wiki instructions)
After the upgrade to gnome 3.2, the lock screen feature is not available anymore. I have checked the keys available in org.gnome.power-manager and lock-use-screensaver does no appear anymore. As a matter of fact, lock-use-screensaver does not appear anywhere. This means that either something has gone wrong with my update, or this feature has been removed in the new gnome version. Anyone else observes the same?

There is a switch in >System Settings > Screen
Is that not sufficient?

Anyone got a hint if the new WP8 lock screen will be included in WP7.8? The new lock screen is sick. Very customizable.

No information has been released about that yet, you will have to wait and keep checking the news. Nokia cannot comment on it until Microsoft announce it.

my iphone power button dosent work, i dont want to use accesive touch because i dont like it, i want to know if theres an app that i can use to lock the screen?
i dont have warrinty or money to pay for repair, i just need a lock screen app and no jailbreak

This is a known issue some are seeing after un-installing the beta for the new Live Lockscreen app.
A solution for this is to simply enable Kid's Corner, use it, and then disable it again..

Press the home button once to wake the phone into lock mode. Then press it twice while in lock screen and you will see camera button to right of slide.

Lock screen does not support the new panoramic feature in iOS7.
You are supposed to be able to take panoramic photos and then set them as your lock screen background.
Then you can move your phone around to see the full photo.

I believe this was removed in the later betas of IOS 7. It may make a reappearance in a future update.
It was mentioned at WWDC when iOS 7 was announced, but there is no mention of it on the Apple website.

After installing iOS5 on my iphone 4, the camera icon does not apear every time on the lock screen

On my iPhone 4 with iOS5 the camera icon appears only intermittently on the lock screen.

I also have an iPhone 4 with the newly downloaded iOS 5. I have not been able to get the camera icon on the locked screen to appear at all. I'd love to know how to fix it since this is one of the new features that I'd really like to use.
