New iPad 2 won't sync iPhotos without deleting existing photos

I just got the iPad 2 and want to sync my photos from my Mac. It won't sync all of them at once (pop up window says it can't sync) so I tried a few albums at a time, which works but deletes the previous photos with new ones. It shouldn't be this hard, right? Help please!

To add a new album without erasing other existing ones, just leave the current ones checked in iTunes before syncing. You can add photos from one (or more) iPhoto or Aperture events/albums at a time, but DON'T unselect the events you want to keep in iTunes or any unselected album will be deleted.
There shouldn't be a restriction on the number of photos to be synced at a time.  I have loaded 17,000 photos with iTunes from my iPhoto database on my iPad and 24,000 photos from my Aperture database (via iTunes) onto my iPad 2 without a problem.

  • New iPad Air won't sync with iTunes on Windows 8

    Hello,
    I have an iPad Air that will not sync with iTunes. That same machine however syncs with my original iPad and iPad 2 with no issues.
    Only thing that happens when I connect the iPad Air to the PC is a tile/window pops up like it is looking for photos on the USB device?
    I have tried disabling, uninstalling/reinstalling, updating the driver, all with no success. I even factory reset the iPad Air and didn't change the outcome.
    I can tell you that the iPad Air is running the latest firmware, my iTunes is the latest version, and Windows 8.1 is up to date, as well as both other iDevices syncing error free.
    Any insight anyone could provide on what I could be missing would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

  • New Desktop Manager won't allow me to delete device photos

    Hey there,
    I am using the new 6.0.0.40 Desktop and I am SO frustrated with it. In the old version, I could delete photos from my device using Roxio. In the new Desktop, I can't figure out how to delete photos from my 8330. If I click on a photo, I can't delete it individually and I definitely can't select all of them, which means I can't delete all of them either.
    I can delete one photo at a time using my BB, but I would prefer not to manage my BB shutterbug habit one photo at a time.
    Help! How do I delete photos now?

    Hey Cmillington,
    Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    In BlackBerry Desktop Software, hook up the BlackBerry to your computer and enable mass storage mode.
    Click on Pictures on the left side, and then right click on any picture and select show in explorer.  By doing this, you can select multiple pictures and delete multiple as well.
    Hopefully this information helps.

  • Transfering photos from different pcs without deleting existing photos

    How can i copy photos to ipad if i use different pcs in every 2 weeks, without losing the existing photos?i think itunes will delete them. I am traveling and dont have a home computer.thanks

    Syncing photos via iTunes you can't, as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad. There are third-party apps such as Simple Transfer which can copy photos to / from your iPad and a computer via your wifi network, though the photos will only go into the Camera Roll / Saved Photos album in the Photos app - but if you have iOS 5 you can then copy them into new albums directly on the iPad. Or you can do a similar thing via the camera connection kit.

    You may have to do this several times.
    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom
    My new ipad 2 will not sync my music library, but all my other things like apps have synced fine. When i sync my ipad the blue bar for audio will show up at the bottom and will disappear in a seemingly random order, yet my ipad still says i have no music.  Any suggestions would be great
    Just tried to download new audiobooks to my iPod Touch 3, and noted new iTunes. iPod won't sync ("iTunes is unable to load data class information from Sync Services"). Tried to Reset Sync History per Support Article, but it didn't work. My purchased audiobooks are also gone from my iTunes Library.  Any fix, or is my best bet to uninstall new iTunes and reload earlier version??
    You're supposed to download the latest iTunes from Apple official site and install it on your Mac.
    My brand new iPad mini won't rotate done factory reset still not working. If I lock and unlock on landscape or portrait it remains in that mode. Any ideas pretty sure I've tried everything suggested such as off/on, reset, reboot, double checked lock off. It did work and I changed wallpaper and stopped motion, not sure if this related
    Reset all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. Your iPad will reboot on its own. You will have to enter all of the device settings again, but no data will be lost.
    I eould not spend a whole lot more time trying to fix this, if the device is really brand new. I would take it back to where you bought it, bring the box, the charger, the cable and your receipt and if they can't get it fixed, return it and get another one.
  • New Iphone 4s won't sync, can't get past 'syncing calendars step 2 of 6'???
    New Iphone 4s won't sync off my computer, can't get past 'syncing calendars step 2 of 6'.  Got 1/3 of old apps, and contacts, but a 2/3 of my old apps are on the computer....  not real computer savvy, any suggestions?
    no no a hard reset is just something you do to the phone, you wont lose any data or anything else its litterally like starting your phone on a fresh slate running wise but you wont lose anything at all, all your apps settings etc will still be right as you left it. think of it as a step above turning it off and on again
