New iPad (3rd Generation) Pre-Order info.

I pre-ordered a new Apple iPad (3rd generation) 64 GB Wifi+4G LTE yesterday on March 6, 2012. The conformation email I received from Apple said that it would be delivered on March 16, 2012. Is this the true date that my new iPad will be delivered, or is this just the date that it will ship from Apple? Does anyone have any insight on this delivery date question?

I was asking the question because the new iPad 3rd generation is not available for sale until March 16, 2012. The delivery date message on the conformation screen wasn't clear as to when it would be delivered, basically stating the delivery estimate. Not that it's a huge concern, it's that I've never pre-ordered anything from Apple before, and since the product itself won't be available to purchase on the market until March 16, I was simply inquiring as to the exact delivery date being the same date the product being available for sale. I know when I ordered my iPad 2 online on the Apple store, it took about 8 business days from the shipping conformation email I received, and the delivery of the iPad 2. Has anyone else pre-ordered the new iPad 3rd generation online from the Apple store, and have an estimated delivery date of March 16, 2012?

The best cover is the one that suites your needs. Try Google. There are dozens on the market.
As for the Apple Smart Cover, it does work with the new iPad. There are a few reported issues with it, but that doesn't come close to representing the totality of folks with it.

  • I brought a new ipad (3rd generation), the problem i am having is with itunes. i downloaded a television series onto my ipad, i did not know that it would try to download it all at one time. my question is how do i change the way my ipad loads.

As I stated in the title, I purchased an ipad (3rd generation), and I am having trouble with itunes downloads. Mistakenly when I purchased a television series I selected download the entire series to my ipad. Is there a way to stop this download and change the download location to either my laptop or into the cloud?

Did you try tapping on the download to bring up a pause status? You can finish the download on the computer in iTunes. You may be able to delete the download by swiping across the progress bar of the download after you finish the download on the computer.
Launch iTunes on your computer and go to Store>Check for available downloads. Finish the download in iTunes and then try to delete the download from the iPad.

  • Is anyone having a problem with the 3G on the new iPad 3rd generation?

I took my SIM from my iPad One (where it works perfectly) and transferred to my new iPad Third Generation, but even though it shows a full signal the speed of the 3G is very, very slow. Most web pages never finish loading. I contacted Apple and they say it's a hardware fault, and are sending me a replacement iPad. I wondered if anyone else was experiencing this issue?

If you believe that your device has a defect or malfunction, contact Apple now.  This forum is not for taking polls.  Contact Apple for support options.

  • New iPad 3rd Generation display not coming on.

I have had this issue twice now and can't find a solution.  The first time my display went out I couldn't get any response by holding down the power and home button so I restored it from itunes to factory settings.  That did nothing until miraculously a power and home reset somehow brought my Apple logo up and the device was functioning again.  A week later now and the same issue has arose.  Except this time I haven't been able to get the display back on.  I repeated my steps of restoring it from itunes and trying a home and power button reset.  The strange thing is that I can plug the ipad into the wall or my computer and it makes the charging ring to let me know I am plugged to a power source about every 15 to 30 seconds.  Also if I keep pressing the power button every once in a while I will hear the screen off click noise.  Any suggestions on fixes or anyone else having the same issue.
Just to re-iterate I know about holding the power and home button down for 10 seconds to reset the device.  That does nothing.  You can kind of see the screen turn on a different shade of black every once in a while.
    Any help would be great,
    Adam

  • What screen protector and case will you be buying for your new ipad (3rd generation)?

    Hello!
I'd like to know what types of cases people will be buying for their new ipad this coming Friday as well as what type of screen protector/body guard you'd recommend.
I've been looking online trying to find places that would be able to ship before Friday, but I'm not sure which one to go with, there's too many options!  I'm definitely interested in a leather folio case though.
I've also been wondering what type of screen protector to put on.  I've seen the iVisor anti-glare, and I really like how it works, but seriously... anti-glare on a retina display?  I don't know... any thoughts on that or suggestions?  I'd greatly appreciate it!!
    Thanks!

I had an anti-glare screen protector on my iPad 2 and it degraded the quality of the screen so much I removed it. I have a clear skin on the back, which I like. It prevents scratches to the aluminum back and provides a gripping surface to hold on to. The iPad itself was slippery so that extra grip factor helps me. I use a smart cover for the front, because I like the features it has and the quick removability when docking the iPad. I also like that it automatically sleeps and wakes the iPad thereby conserving power. I chose the polyurethane smart cover because I had heard many issues with the leather covers fading/losing color and I couldn't justify the $30.00 dollar difference in price. I dock my iPad into an iHome theater device regularly, so using a portfolio type case would be too cumbersome to deal with. I do think portfolio cases or the otter box cases provide more protection, but they add more bulk to the iPad than I care to deal with. In the end it comes down to personal preference based on your particular needs. The items I have listed and the reasons for them fit my needs, I'm sure others will have different configurations that are specific to their needs. Hope this helps,
    Bob

  • Can I use my iPhone 4 to give my new iPad (3rd generation) 3G Internet ?

I wanted to know if the iPhone 4 I have can give my wifi only iPad 3G data if I buy tethering through Verizon.

If Verizon supports the personal hotspot function on your iPhone then yes, you can use that to share it's connection with the iPad - the iPad will see it as a wifi network.

  • IPad 3rd generation camera problem

My new IPad 3rd generation camera worked perfectly for about a half hour.  Then the IPad got hot so I turned it off to cool down.  When I turned it back on and tried to use the camera the camera screen was black. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Quit the camera app and restart the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    Or reboot the iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
BTW ... The iPad should not get that hot!

  • Going from ipad2 to ipad 3rd generation

I've ordered the ipad 3rd generation and have a buyer for my old ipad2.  The old ipad2 will be long gone before the ipad 3rd gen arrives.  I want my old information to end up on my new unit but I also want to be sure I delete everything from the old unit before it leaves my hands.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

After you do the backup and wipe your old one, when you get the new one and plug it into iTunes to activate it you will be asked 'set up as a new iPad or restore from the backup of.......... iPad?' Choose the latter and all your apps etc transfer over.
You'll need to reenter e-mail accounts and passwords etc, but most of it will move over seamlessly

  • Syncing an old iPod Touch (1st Gen) and new iPad (3rd Gen)

I have an old iPod Touch (1st Generation) which runs iOS 3.1.3, the latest possible for the device. It is synced to my Windows desktop PC. However a lot of apps are not fully updated because the newer versions are no longer iOS 3 compatible.
I am getting an iPad (3rd Generation) on launch day next week and will obviously need to sync it to my PC with fully updated apps, however, I also want to keep using my iPod Touch will all its apps too.
Is it possible to have two sets of apps on iTunes on one PC, one for the old iPod Touch with its older apps and one with the new apps for the new iPad.
I update all the apps on the iPod Touch itself so I never update an app that is no longer compatible with iOS 3.0
The solution I've come up with at the moment is to copy the iTunes folder on to my laptop and use that for one of the devices and use the desktop for the other. But would like to use just one PC if possible.
    Can anyone advise?
    Thanks

It turns out that I took all the apps off my touch, but I have an iPhone 3 that hasn't been updated in at least six months.  There's got to be something on there that's incompatible with the current iOS architecture, but it's syncing as I type this with no problems.
You've got your iTunes copied to your laptop - why not use the original copy for a little snooping?  I think you'll find that everything works just fine.
BTW, there are several apps in the iTunes library on my desktop that are duplicated.  I never could figure out why, but my guess is that some of them are versions that will run on one handheld and not the other.
    Hope that helps.
    Mike
