New Ipad 64GB 4G heat up!!

Hi, anyone having new ipad get heat up during charging or after 30mins use?

It depends on the type of use on the iPad in regards to it heating up or not. Some activity I do on the iPad will definitely heat it up, while other things will not. Casual web browsing doesn't seem to heat it up, while I believe the maps and location services will. If you were to get an app that shows you the processor level of activity along with what process is working at the time - you could probably find out which app is doing it.
In charging it, I've noticed that the charger that comes with the iPad gets hot, itself, but the iPad doesn't. On the other hand, when I plug it into the car charger (one I got at the local Apple Store) - the iPad really heats up upon charging and gets really hot to the touch. I can take it inside and do it on the standard charger, right at that time, and the iPad willl cool down, even though it's supposedly getting the same charge as it was in the car. I'm not sure why there is a difference in the two situations.

  • New IPAD 64GB WIFI SCREEN FREEZE

Hi. I have The New IPAD 64GB WIFI. Initially it worked fine. After a few weeks it started to freeze. At one point it even gave me the blue screen of death. Did the reset(home off button10 sec). It would restart but crash again a few minutes later. Done a factory reset on the Ipad "erase all content and settings". No new apps installed. Still have the same problem.Anybody have a solution for this?

Personally, I wouldn't try anything further to "fix" the iPad. If you restored it and removed all apps and it still acts up like you describe, I would head to an Apple Store, show it to an Apple Genius, and then politely ask for a replacement.

  • New iPad wont open a PDF attachment.

    Hi,
I recently bought a new iPad 64GB. It has worked perfectly until yesterday when I tried to open a PDF email attachment. The attachment sort of twitches and then does nothing. This happens everytime I try to open it.
I have tried: restart, hard reset, tap and hold, swapping from all mail to the single inbox and back again. I have tried pretty much everything to get it to work.
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance,
    Theblokedownstairs.

    Try this:
    1. Double-click the Home button to close all Inactive Apps in Task Bar
    2. Hold the Apps in Task Bar down for a second or two until you see the minus sign
    3. Tap the minus sign to close Apps
    4. Tap center of screen to return to Home Screen
    5. Reset iPad. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 second until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider

  • Brand new iPad fails sync due to "computer no longer authorized"

    Hello all,
I have a brand new iPad 64GB that I can't sync to my existing iTunes library.  Every time I try, I get an error that says, "The iPad could not be synced because this computer is no longer authorized for purchased items that are on this iPad."  In iTunes, I go to Store > Authorize This Computer, and that dialog says that my computer is already authorized.  Then I try to sync again and end up with the "no longer authorized" error again.
So what is in the default load of a new iPad that iTunes doesn't think I've paid for?
The same iTunes (for Windows, version 11.1.5.5)  has no trouble syncing my iPod Touch, iPod Nano, and several Shuffles. So why is it barfing on the iPad?
    Any advice greatly appreciated,
    BD

  • Wall Charger of new iPad is not working

I just got a new Ipad 64GB and I observed that the wall charger adapter is not working.
I checked the cable and it is fine as it charges the iPad when connected to the computer USB and it syncs.
I also tried the wall power adapter of my iPhone and it works perfectly fine. It charges the iPad as expected.
Thus it is the iPad power adapter.
    Anyone with this issue?

I have the same problem and found a solution. I have two 16 GB ipads and several ipods around so was able to isolate that when using the sync cable provided with the ipad (the slim ones) the ipad and ipods did not charge correctly (very slowly if not at all). When using one older sync cable (fat connector) on the wall charger, the problem is gone. Unfortunately, I have juste one of those, but at least I am sure that it will work.
I also encounter sync issue with those small connectors : connections goes on and off without a predicable pattern.
So from my experience: the problem is not related to the ipad, the problem is not with the wall charger and using an older ipod sync connector solve the issue. The issue is with both usb connectors included with the ipads, so getting a new similar one is unlikely to solve the issue.

  • I just bought the top of the range of the new iPad on 10th Oct 2012, wanna change it to iPad 4.

I just bought the top of the range of the new iPad (64GB with Retina Display), and iPad smart Cover from the shop in Thailand, Apple just launched the 4th gen of iPad yesterday. I spent a lot of money to get the 3rd Gen. Wanna get the new one instead.
So sad for buying this gen ...
Can Apple get the new one for me? I wanna return mine...

I have a similar issue...my uncle asked what I wanted as a present and I said a new ipad came out with support for Australian 4G networks and to get that...it's the 'new' ipad. Of course he went into the store and asked for the latest 'new' ipad on 28/10 and they sold him an ipad3 which retailed for the same price as an ipad4.
So when I got it I was advised by the telco that my version was not compatible. I called applecare to ask them if I could swap it being 1 week out from purchase and of course they said go back to the store it was purchased from. No surprises the store doesn't want anything to do with it, they just want to get rid of their old stock.
Now I am stuck with an ipad which I did not want (I specifically did not want the ipad3 because it did not support our local networks' 4G) and Apple have washed their hands of it.
This is terrible policy...at first I was upset Apple or the reseller won't exchange it but really I don't blame the reseller now...my grief is in the stupid Apple naming policy..."oh it's the new ipad with retina display now" .... hang on a second the ipad3 was also the 'new' ipad with retina display (maybe not by name) and was never referred to as the ipad 3rd gen...now they're saying oh it's now the ipad3 you want the ipad with retina display...guess what your stupid naming convention means half the noobs out there don't know what they're buying.
The identical naming convention has caused my uncle to purchase an obsolete product for top dollar...I have an iphone 3g, 4, 4s, touch, etc. well I think it's safe to say android is the future. I'm already finding streaming media is made impossible by Apple's DRM and policies...something my $100 andoid tablet can do easy.

  • Problems with email on new ipad not deleting?

I have recently synced my new ipad 64gb 4g wifi from the back up from my ipad2. All was working fine & (no previous problems with my emails on ipad2) until I received an email a few days ago from apple which the original acknowledged changes to secutity questions. I have deleted the original from my desk top as some earlier forums have suggested but I am unable to delete or even open the email on the new ipad. When trying to action delete or open causes the mail app to instantly crash / close. So I am left with the mail icon app displaying 1 unopened message. I have again followed earlier recommendations namely completely deleting the mail account and starting from scratch only to be met with the same problem. When the mail app crashes all previous deleted messages re-appear in the inbox... Very frustrating any ideas would be gratefully received & any solutions would be terriffic!

Have you tried closing the Mail app completely and then re-opening it ? From the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • New Ipad replaced for refurbished?

Hi all, a week or so ago , I got a new Ipad 64gb in black, all was fine for a while, until I saw a miniscule white dot on the lower left side of the screen.
I tried to clean it off, hoping it was some dust or whatnot, alas it didn't come off. Iassumed it was a dead pixel. Later that day I phoned applecare and booked an appointment at my local Apple Store.
The genius that was there was very helpful, stating that indeed it was a fault with the Ipad and not a scratch and would be replaced with a 'new' Ipad. So, off he went and brought a box down which wasn't like the ones you get new Ipads in.
At the time, I took a quick glance over, all looked fine so signed agreeing to erase etc etc and came home. Upon inspection, there are several scuffs to the sides with minor paint chips.
My question is this, can I take this one back, and also, if yes, can I demand for a new Ipad as opposed to a refurbished one. Yes, I'm partly at fault for not checking it out properly, but I'd paid quite alot of money and surely a new one isn't too much to ask is it?
Sorry for lengthy post, and I hope this is the right section.
    James

Hi Demo, thankyou for replying. I suppose I don't have an issue with it being refurbished, so long as it actually has no real defects to it.
It has a case and you can't really see the scuffs when its on, however I suppose I was abit taken aback when I wasn't really at fault, and they didn't offer a new one, seeing as I only purchased not to long ago.
I know I'm nitpicking, guess I should've looked it over bit more closely at the store.
Will let you know what the outcome is

  • The New iPad not remembering Wi-Fi Networks

I just bought The New iPad 64GB Wi-Fi + 4G. It doesn't remember my Wi-Fi networks that I connect too. I have to go into settings every time and connect to network manually. Does anyone else have the same problem or know of a fix? I have the iPhone and iPad2 doesn't have this problem.

  • Does anyone know yet if the new iPad will support a USB microphone plugged into Garageband via iPad's USB Camera Adapter?

    Hi,
I've ordered a new iPad 64Gb which will arrive early April. My hobby is making music, so does anyone know yet if the new iPad (3rd generation) will support a USB microphone plugged into Garageband via iPad's USB Camera Adapter? I am hoping to use such a portable setup to record live performances of voice & acoustic instrument.
    Thank you,
    John.

When in doubt, try it out. I bought the Apple camera connection kit & used it to connect my Blue Snowball usb mic to my new iPad 3rd generation. It works just fine. I made some test recordings in GarageBand on my iPad 3 using my Snowball mic. They sound great.

  • Is the Heating of New IPad a defect or not?

Is there any official word about the Heating Issue?  Since some New IPad owners get NO heating at all, is it a defective unit that heats up ?   Will this shorten the life of battery and components?  Should I keep my New IPad which heats up or return it and wait till issue is resolved?

I have not read the CNet article but in the real world it works in this way. If you want to draw a conclusion, you need a sample size that is "good enough" to make a judgement on the population. I believe CNet is basing that judgement based on a heat test conducted to one iPad only and the unit is not faulty.
Going forward, there has been efforts in gathering a more sizable amount of sample to draw a conclusion out of and we're using it on a issue-to-production-batch basis.

Here's a link you can use to find the New iPad's production batch.
So far from community efforts (discussion forums from fansites like marumours to apple discussions), heating issues on Production Week 2 and 10 is trending upwards as more people are aware of the issue and are joining these efforts.
Here's some details of a faulty New iPad (Heating over 50-60 celcius when running apps in Retina) and I've requested for a unit exchange and the CSO from the sales team has also agreed to the exchange for a new unit.

  • Brand new ipad 2 64gb wifi wont turn on

    Hi Guys,
I just bought a new Ipad 2 64gb Wifi, unboxed the ipad but i wasnt getting the cable to connect it to the itunes screen so I tried to charge it with the wall charger and with the usb but nothing seemed to work, charger and ipad went hot as when you usual charge the devices as i have also an ipad 2 16gb, i have been not able to turn it on, the screen is completely black and the computer is not detecting it.
    Tried so far:
    Updated Itunes to lastest version
    Power button for 5 seconds
Reset mode  (power and home for 15 seconds), no apple logo was shown.
Tried other cables none of them are working.
Tried DFU mode and tried a restore but itunes is not detecting the Ipad
I will be going next week to an apple store, but i want it to first give it the try here.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Have you tried resetting network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings?
You will have to re-enter your passwords since keychain items are only restored to the same device:
"The keychain can only be restored from backup to the same iPad. If you are restoring to a new device, you will need to fill in these passwords again.)"

  • Why my new ipad heats up so much???

i boucht the new ipad , and hetas up  on one bottom corner , should i change it ??

the heat is caused by a larger battery and bigger processor for the retina display. 'Warm' is normal, 'Hot' isn't.
If you can safely touch the area, you should be fine. But if it's 'too hot to handle' then you should make an appointment to take it into your local apple store and have them take a look at it.

  • 32gb or 64gb the new iPad?

I have a 32gb Iphone 4s with about half memory left and I am going to make my first Ipad purchase next month, what I am stuck on now is should I get a 32gb or get the 64gb I take a lot of pics and i know that is most of my memory besides my music just a little input from you guys would help TIA!

I think 32GB would be adequate unless you want to have a lot of videos/movies. However, after you have paid the 32GB cost, the additional 32GB is not that much more. Plus, who knows what you'll want to put on the iPad in the next few years of it's useful life.
