New Ipad. can't get Notes application to work. have restored all original settings. Still no luck. Any advice?

Try this. In the upper left corner of the notes app there is an Accounts button - tap that and start going through the list of the accounts tapping on each one and see if the + sign turns white and you can use the app with that account. I can grey the + sign on my iPad by tapping the notes accounts that I do not use.

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound. Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and its the icon; press home again to exit the taskbar. If that doesn't solve it then try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -
I have an iPod Classic 160GB and now it will not sync. I have restored to factory settings multiple times. It freezes during sync, gives -50 error code and says video is not supported on iPod. Please help.

Yes. Just either sync the apps from your computer or download them again from the iTunes Store:

If you have a recent backup of the old iPad, you can restore the new iPad from that backup and probably get back saved games and other such data.

I have set up my yahoo email account on my new ipad but can't get it to work - the error message says yahoo server unavailable which I find hard to believe! Can anyone help me please?
I checked the settings as per your link above and I have them set up correctly on my ipad (I have yahoo plus). That is to say I have added the plus.stmp.mail.yahoo.com as an outgoing server with the server port 465 but it still doesn't work.
Annoyingly, I also took the advice of some earlier posts and changed my yahoo password and now I can't get email on my iphone 4 either - it was working perfectly before. I put in the new password and now both the ipad and iphone give me the "server unavailable" message. Grrrrrr.... -

Usually when you uninstall/reinstall you are given the option to retain all your settings including add-ons. If you can't get started, though, I really can't help any further.
As a long shot you could try opening Firefox from your Start Menu or Programs folder. If that works, you should create a new Firefox icon. Drag your Firefox from the Start Menu to the Desktop(it doesn't actually move) and it will offer you the option of creating a desktop icon.
As a very long shot you could check the Properties of the Desktop icon and see if anything is out of place.
When you say it doesn't show up on the screen do you mean it doesn't open at all or it opens to a blank screen? Try pressing F11 if you get a blank screen - you could be in full screen mode. -
Can't get Quicktime 7 to work after restore hard drive
I had to reformat and reinstall windows XP home. Everything works fine but I can't apply my license key to Quicktime Pro 7.
When I enter the license key from the Email I received it says invalid registration. I still have the receipt and order number as well as the key sent to me at purchase in Oct,05 (8 months ago).
Why won't this key let me register the product??????? It works fine as the FREE version but says my purchase is not vaid.Use copy/paste from the email to the registrations fields.
Too easy to enter an O where a zero is used. The name must match too including a salutation (if used in the email). -

Can't get my snaps to work (have tried obvious options)
I have just done a fresh install of Indesign (CS5.5) and for some reason my snaps are not working. I have gone in and ensured that the correct options in View>Grids & Guides are checked and it is still not working. Is there anything else that could be causing them not to work? I’m using a file where it definatly used to work prior to the fresh install. Please help as I find it to be one of the most useful featues!

Solved my own problem. For future reference if anyone googles this. I turned on "Snap to Document Grid" and this greyed out the "Smart Guides" which is what I was after. Looks like there was a bug causing it to not show up in the first place but by turning it on and off everything is working again.Your preferences file may be corrupted, I suggest refreshing them

I have yet to find an email server that does not work with Mail.app. Your solution will be to configure its ports and send/receive protocol according to the email server's requirements.
