New iPad email

With the new iPad why do you have to click delete after you clicked on the trash can?  And why doesn't the microphone work here?  Arggghhh!

If Dictation does not recognize your requests, ensure that the keyboard is set for the language you are speaking.
It could be that your accent is unrecognizable in the dictation feature on the iPad.

    If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact AppleCare(or Apple ID Support), upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.

    How do I make my iPad work properly with my existing "Orangehome" email address. My iPad receives emails OK from the Orange account, which has been operational on a PC for many years, but I can't send emails from my lovely new iPad, my PC works just fine, but my iPad won't send emails, the settings are the same as my PC. I've tried smtp ports 25 and 587, but iPad won't work with either - does anyone out there know of a fix for this issue, Orange don't seem to care and have no ideas whatsoever - the questions is, does anyone in the Apple community care! I really don't want to have to use another email address, so please, please, pleaseeee help me?

    Hi tz, Thnaks for the input. The settings are the same as my PC, SSL is off and there is no Authentication required; I've check this requirement with Apple and Orange guidelines and this is also what they recommend; however, I'll try with the Authentication on and see what happens....I'll post again later, running out of time now so it could be after the weekend before I get back with an update. Thanks again.

  • Changing iCloud a/c to new ipad email ID

    Had my Apple ID changed to new email account then tried to change iCloud account to same. iCloud won't let me change email account & keep getting an error window wanting p/w for the old a/c which was a cable email address. I don't have that cable co. anymore so it won't accept old p/w. Any suggestions please!!!

    To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

    About ~20 hours later, this ended up solving itself. We can send email using the '.icloud' email from both the iPad and iPhone.  Advise would be 'wait' before you start seeking alteranatives like yahoo, hotmail, etc.  This definitely is a convenient way to keep all your 'cloud' information in a centralized place, including the common email...

    Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
    Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

    Thanks.  I got the problem fixed.  Spent time with the Apple folks and was kicked up to a senior advisor.  It seems the problem was with my internet provider - Tmie Warner.  Remember I could use the old ipad and the iphone to send mail.  I checked all the specifics between the three units.  It seems that TW is changing over from the RR.com  to TWC.com.  Since the new ipad air was just set up, it fell under the new TWC mail specifics.

  • New iPad 2 always downloading previously deleted emails

    I am using my Verizon.net POP3 email server.  On iPad mail setup Incoming I have it set to delete from serer when removed from Inbox.  My interpretation of that set-up is that any email I download, view and then delete (thereby removing it from my Inbox) should be deleted from the server by the iPad's OS.  Those I don't delete should remain on the server.  I also have an iPhone 3G running OS 4.x and it does not have this problem.  Emails deleted on it are also deleted from the server so that they don't appear again when accessing new mail.  The Mail settings otherwise appear identical to that of the new iPad.
    This is NOT a POP3 vs. IMAP problem.  It is an OS5.x problem as OS5.x is not handling the deleted emails by deleting them from the server.  I want emails deleted from the iPad2 to delete from the server whereas those I leave in the iPad 2 mailbox I want to stay on the server so that I can manage those from my Win7 PC using Outlook 2010.

    It looks like you still have your emails stored on the mail server from your Internet Service Provider. When you update to ios5, it wipes out the emails on your devices. Then when you go into the mail tools, it pulls the emails off the server again. Very annoying, I agree.
    Best thing is to delete unwanted emails off the server, likely using a web based email tool from your ISP (eg Webmail from Time Warner, etc).

    click on apple ID listed there
    select Sign Out
    sign in with the proper account
    from then on, when the store ask for your password it should be with the correct ID

    Did you take a backup in between taking the photos and deleting them ? If you did then try restoring to that backup (you will need to restore the whole iPad, you can't just do the Photos app) and they should be put back.

    When you create new albums directly on your iPad and 'copy' photos into them you are effectively just creating pointers to the orginal photos, you aren't creating copies of the photos - so if you then delete the original photo you will also be deleting all pointers to and therefore be removing it from all albums that you've copied it into (you should have got a warning when deleting the photo that that would happen).

    I could be wrong, but it sounds like Facebook imported to your contacts.  I have the Xfinity app on my new ipad, too, but none of my stored contacts from the online version are showing, only what I manually entered into the iPads contacts are there.  When I did add the FB app, I did not grant it permission to push and pull from my ipad (not a fan of FB knowing every detail about me), so that may be where our difference lies.  You could try to open the app and change your privacy settings, or delete it and then reinstall without granting permissions to integrate.
    I'm sure someone here with a lot more knowledge then me can probably diagnose your issue better, though.  Good luck!
