New iPad no computer...transfer music and photos

My mom has a new iPad2...it will not be connected to a computer.  How can I transfer some photos and music onto it.  I have the camera transfer kit.  I was hoping to do it with a usb drive or memory card...so far no luck.

Syncing with new computer
This is an extract from one of our senior participant; hope he doesn't mind me reproducing it here
1) Without connecting your iPad to your laptop, start iTunes. Click on Edit. Click on Preferences. Click on Devices. Check the box next to "Prevent your iPod etc. from automatically syncing." Click OK.
2) Now connect your iPad to your laptop and start iTunes.
3) When iTunes starts, right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select Transfer purchases etc.
4) After it finishes transferring all your apps to your new laptop, right click on your iPad and select Backup your iPad.
5) After it finishes backing up your iPad, right click on your iPad and select Restore etc.
6) After it finishes restoring, left click on your iPad , then click on the Apps tab on top, and check the box next to Sync Apps, then click on Apply below.
If everything on your iPad looks good after the sync, go back and click on Edit / Preferences / Devices and UN-check the box next to Prevent your iPod etc. The only other thing you may want to check is if your contacts, bookmarks, etc. are syncing correctly now. If not, go to the Info tab after connecting and make sure you indicate which features you want to sync with what sources.

HHow do I transfer music and photos from my iPhone 4s to my ipad

You cannot directly transfer anything from an iPhone to an iPad. If your iPad is signed onto the same Apple ID as your iPhone in Settings>iTunes & App Store, then it has access to the same Music library as your phone. Click on the More tab in the iTunes App on your iPad, and then on Purchased, Not on this iPad to see all of the music available to download to the iPad. You can also set the "Automatic Downloads" option to ON in Settings>iTunes & App Store and going forward, any music you purchase on the iPhone or via iTunes on a computer will automatically download to your iPad. Set the same setting on the iPhone to have it do the same.
As for photos. If both the iPhone and iPad are signed onto the same iCloud ID in Settings>iCloud, then turn on Photo Stream on both the iPad and iPhone to share Photo Stream photos between the two devices. Photos on your Camera Roll that are no longer on Photo Stream, or photos in other Photo Albums would have to be sync'd to the iPad via iTunes on the computer you sync with (assuming you have imported your photos to that computer).

  • How to transfer music and photos to a new pc from ipad

    hi everyone,
i just got a new laptop from my office.my itunes libraray was earlier in personal laptop, but i want to have it in offcial too. i transfred apps to new itunes on new lappy via my iphone & ipad by transfer purchases. but its music and photo is not transfered. how to transfer it , plz guide..
    thnx

Music purchased from iTunes should have copied over via Transfer Purchases. For music from other sources (e.g. CDs) you will either need to use your backup or find a third-party program for your computer that can copy them off your iPad and iPhone.
To copy photos to your computer that were taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page -  on a PC you can use the windows camera wizard, on a Mac Aperture, iPhoto or Image Capture
To copy photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to an iPad or iPhone, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.

  • Can I transfer music and photos from my 17" PowerBook G4 to a new MacBook Pro?

I am planning to buy a new MacBook Pro in the next couple of weeks. Can I have the "Genius" at the Apple Store transfer my music and pictures from my current PowerBook to the new computer? My current computer is a 17" PowerBook G4, running OS X 10.5.8. Because of the age of my computer and software limitations I have been unable to use iCloud for anything besides my calendar and contacts.

Yes, flash drive would work fine.
If all you care about is music and photos, as you indicated earlier, then you simply need to copy the entire contents of your Music and Pictures folders from the old computer into the Music and Pictures folders on the new computer. A flash drive will work fine as long as it is big enough. If you want to also move over personal files, typically those are in your Documents folder and possibly your Desktop, so don't forgot about those.
If you want to migrate over all your emails, applications, internet and router settings, web browser favorites, bookmarks, preferences, user names and accounts, etc., then you might consider doing the full migration using Setup Assistant upon the very first boot up. Apple will do this for you, for a fee, as will almost any Apple-authorized computer store (also for a fee, but probably for a bit less than Apple would charge). You can actually do this manually, using the external drive or flash drive, and I have done that myself. But you need to know where the files are to do that properly. The Setup Assistant (which is run upon the very first boot up of the new computer) or Migration Assistant (which is run after you have booted into your new computer at least once) make it pretty easy -- the main thing you need to do is hook the computers up with a firewire cable and follow Apple's instructions; or if that is not possible, the next best thing is to make a complete backup of your old computer onto an external drive using Time Machine (or a cloning program like SuperDuper or Carbon Copy Cloner) and migrate from the backup.

  • I syced Itunes music and photos to my Ipad. Have replaced PC with new Imac, but cannot sync music and photos from Ipad to Imac(previous sync) Is there a way around this without loosing items on Ipad

Is it possible to copy music and photos from the Ipad to the Imac without syncing

With content purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only.
You need to transfer your iTunes library and your photos from your PC to your Mac along with all other important data from your PC that you will want or need to access on your Mac - no different when switching from one computer to another under any circumstances.

I just got a new computer because my old one was damaged and the hard drive dead also. All my music and photos are on my iphone but when i tried transferring them over to my new computer, it does not transfer all my music and photos over. Any idea what to do?

    Hello theopeningeye,
It is not possible to transfer Music, Songs, Playlist etc.. from your iPhone to your computer via iTunes, you will have to find a 3rd party software.

  • Transfer music and photos back to my computer

I had a virus and resulted in my having to change my hard disk.
I did not have back up of my photos or music, which they are safe on my Ipod photo.
Now my computer is fully repaired and have downlowded my software for i-pod again, obviusly is empty.
How can i download my music and photos back on to my computer with its new hard disk?
If i get it wrong, I loose everything!
    Thanks and regards
    jg

You won't be able to, just by navigating out the iPod's photos folder in iTunes. You'll likely need the help of some sort of third party software to get the job done for you.  One thing you'll want to keep in mind about these photos is that they are no longer in their full resolution, but instead are scaled down thumbnail versions that were optimized for viewing on your iPod's Video smaller 2.5" LCD display.
    Here is one such product.

  • How to transfer music and photos from old iCloud to new iCloud

I have to make a new iCloud but I don't want to lose all my photos and music that I have bought. How can I transfer those things from my old iCloud to my new one?

Music can only be used with the Appel ID that has been used to buy the songs. They can be downloaded again for free:
Download past purchases - Apple Support
You can transfer the photos on your phone to your computer:

  • How do I transfer music and photos from my Power Mac G5 to my new iMac. Have an old FireWire but it does not fit the new iMac

I am trying to transfer photos, music, etc from my Power Mac G5 to my new iMac. The Power Mac is too old for the migration assistant to help. I have an old Firewire but it does not fit the new iMac. Any suggestions? If a Firewire is the best option which one do I need? Thanks.

You need a Firewire 800 to 400 adapter or cable or a external USB 2/3 drive (self powered) it can default to the old USB the G5 uses 1 or 2.
    Format the drive info here.

  • How can i transfer music and photos from my ibook g4 to my new mac mini?

the g4 has a firewire 400 and the mini is firewire 800.  IS there 400 to 800 firewire or a male-male usb2 cable out there?  I've tried moving files to my external drive and then moving to the mini but the photos move over as one event. The music moves fine but the 2 step process is slow and tedious.  Is there an easier way?

    Hello,
Firewire cables with a Firewire 800 connector on one end and a Firewire 400 connector on the other end are common.  For instance, the Belkin 6'/1.8m FireWire 800/400 Cable.

Sync the content using iTunes on your computer.
iTunes: Syncing media content to iPod - Apple - Support
iTunes 11 for Windows: Set up syncing for iPod, iPhone, or iPad
iOS and iPod: Syncing photos using iTunes - Apple - Support
    This should help as well.

  • I found an old iPod classic of mine.  It's not synced to my new MacBook Pro.  How can I get the music and photos off of it and on to my new computer?  When I plug it in to my new computer it wants to erase what is on it and transfer from my new computer.

I found an old iPod classic of mine that is synced to a computer that is long gone.  I want to get the music and photos from this old iPod onto my new computer.  Every time I hook the iPod up to my new computer it wants to delete what is on the iPod and replace with the contents of the iTunes that is currently on the new computer.  I don't want to do that.  I want to keep what is on the old iPod and transfer it to iTunes.  Any help?  Thanks!

  • I used the migrator utility to transfer music and picture from my old PC and now I have 2 accounts on my new Mac, how can I get back to one account and still have the music and photos transfered ?

I used the migrator utility to transfer itunes and photos from my old PC to my new Mac and ended up with 2 accounts on my new computer. How do I transfer the music and photos and only have the 1 account on the new Mac ?

That's not easy.  The Windows migration tool makes a new user account, and you can't prevent it.
You may be able to transfer what you want manually, but it's not quick or easy.  See Transferring files from one User Account to another.

How do I download music and photos from existing iPad to new iphone

Perform a backup to iTunes from the old device and then a restore to the new device, use ITunes to do this.  BTW, always sync photos to a computer to store them safely (use iPhoto on a mac or to a designated folder on a PC).  Never trust an iOS device to keep photos without having them synced to a computer.

  • How do I transfer music and playlists from an external hard drive to my new computer?

I just got a new pc and I need to transfer music and playlists that were saved to an external drive from 2 seperate computers.  There are 2 different sets of music and playlists, one mine and the other my husbands.
Is it possible to put both onto my new pc, and if so...how.  I am needing a step by step instruction as I am not real familiar with how to make these changes on iTunes.
    Thanks in advance
