New ipad set-up with erroneous email.

A new iPad was replaced by Apple for faulty one. The faulty one had been set up and used before the fault occured.
The iPad belonges to a friend who got their email address wrong when the replacement was being set up. They have also forgotten their original Apple password.
So we now have an ipad with an ID which using a different email and a password for that ID.
The original email acount is still working and it would make sense to change the iPad's ID to that email address.
How can that be done ?

Have you tried to go into System Preferences > iCloud and entering the correct information there? You will first have to "sign out" of the wrong account and then log in with the correct information.
If that does not work you should direct follow up to the iCloud for Mac forum.

  • TS3899 A new ipad mini - help with receiving emails

    A newly bought ipad mini. Installed all e-mail accounts successfully [yahoo, gmail & icloud] all working fine, Then we took the ipad a holiday in Europe.
    We were able to send and receive emails for 3 days then suddenly they stopped working. No gmails e-mails received on ipad since.
    Emails were also syncd with ipod, and and emails were recieved on it at same hotel earlier in the year. Emails have stopped to ipod too.

    settings- mail, contacts, and calendars- click gmail- scroll to bottom and delete account
    now read the account
    settings- mail, contacts, and calendars- add account- gmail-enter info

    I think iCloud isn't coming until this fall and not until iOS 5 is publicly available. Right now there is confusion because all this stuff is still in beta and things are under NDA and may still change.
    I'd just set the 3GS up the same as currently. When iOS 5 is available in the fall (and I don't think Apple has specified beyond "fall"), before you update, there should be any number of guides to setting things up and how it will all work. http://macworld.com is a good place to look for such information.

    The iPad was sealed in the box when I got it. It had the plastic screen protector wrapped all around it and when I powered it on for the first time it displayed the "connect to iTunes for setup" message displayed. The only other thing I can think of is if the person I bought it from had ordered it through Verizon on and the iPad was set up on a number on his pre-existing verizon account. My question is should I just keep using it and consider myself lucky? Since there is no way for Verizon to charge me for the usage because I never signed a contract. I realize that if it is on the account belonging to the person I bought it from, they will eventually figure this out and shut it off. But I might as well use it in the meantime right?

    Been through the wringer on this one. Verizon or local cable  co. have not helped. New iPad will not send out emails while in LTE or 3g, but will do so in wi-fi. Have checked settings, restarted, reset settings, etc. Any ideas would be appreciated. BTW, I have an iPhone with Verizon and it sends out emails with exactly the same settings as the iPad while on 3g. This has been nuts.

    Just found the answer to this thanks to Chris CA. In outgoing email settings, for some reason, the new iPad must have username and password entered even though it says optional. Once I entered that data, emails sent right out! The Verizon techs or my cable co. techs never suggested doing so after many hours of troubleshooting. This forum always has the real "experts".     What is your brightness setting & how many apps are open?
    The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
    Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

    Please rephrase Your Question - I'm not clever enough to get it
    There are lot's of Cameras that record in lot's of different ways that can be edited in iMovie.
    No iMovie can not use all Video-Codec's in the World - they are zillions and many needs to be converted to something iMovie can open and work with.
    • Still digital Cameras as Nikons - Import into iPhoto and then in iMovie Event's window import from iPhoto-videos title
    • miniDV tape Cameras - connects only via FireWire - then just Import from Camera into Event's
    • SD-Card or Hard Disk Cameras Connects most ofthen via USB and Import from "File or other"
    • from Internet - (out of my range - Guessing) - most will need to be converted into something iMovie likes - I would try
    - StreamingDV .dv - or -
    - AIC (Apple Intermediate Codec)
    So as You see - I don't get it !

    Check the settings in the Accounts for Mail.
    Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Click on your email Account in the left column > What appears under Full Name in the right column?
    If that is the incorrect name you're describing change it to your correct name.

    Hold Sleep and Home buttons until the iPad restarts, so the message won't appear after restarting it

    I have a 64GB iPad Air WiFi+Cellular (Verizon), and I don't see the issues you are describing.  First I would suggest that you update your iPad to the newest iOS update.  If that doesn't help, then you may want to schedule an appointment at an Apple Genius Bar.  If you go this route, I suggest that you let the iPad sleep for long enough for the problem to arise before you go to your appointment.

    When using iPhoto to upload/share to Facebook, if I select certain albums to upload to, I get a popup that says "The operation could not be completed (facebookErrDomain error 10000)"
    I've also noticed that iPhoto doesn't load all of my Facebook albums to choose where to upload. Besides Wall Photos, iPhoto Uploads, and create new album .. it only shows 24 previously existing albums. Which is about 1/3rd of all of my albums.

  • Why new iPad want charge with charger?

    My new iPad want charge with original 10v charger. It charges from my Mac, syncing and any other staff. I tried other chargers and cables, reboot, reinstall iOS. Nothing helped. When I inserte the cable from charger iPad still sleeps, no indication at all.

    Seems like the charger is faulty. Take your iPad, cable and charger to an Apple store.
