New iPad sync

I have a 2g itouch and purchased a new ipad.   I opened itunes and connected my ipad to sync and now
all of my apps from my itouch are now on my ipad....is this OK

If the apps don't fill the screen, this is normal. they are likely Touch/Phone apps only. You will see a button with 2X on it, so you can blow them up to full screen. Some will look better than others, all depends on how high resolution they are.
I started my iPad with my Touch apps on it, saw how each of htem looked then decided whether or not I wanted to purchase the iPad versions of those that didn't look so good.
Touch and Phone apps can run on the iPad, but iPad only apps won't run on the smaller screens. And anything in the app store with a + on their download button are universal apps that work on any of the devices.

  • New IPad sync Problem

I just purchased a new iPad. When I went to sync it to my computer (HP Eletebook 8440p, running Vista 32 bit) it recognized it as it should have.  I went through the standard setup / registration phase. At one point it brought me to a page in iTunes that ask me if I wanted to set up the "Find my phone". At this point I can not progress any further. The three links listed "Learn More", "Not Now" and "Setup Find My Phone" do nothing when clicked. iTunes does will not progress any further.
    Steps taken this far:
    Un installed iTunes 10.2.2
    Re installed iTunes 10.2.2
Uninstalled again and installed older version 9.2 ( I think)
Received error and re installed 10.2.2
I still have the same screen asking about "find my phone". This is all new to me and I'm at a loss.

Can you try to setup the iPad from a friend's computer? Or return to the store and request an initial instore setup?

  • New ipad sync cable

I have a new ipad and several ipads which means I have many 30-pin cables. I'm told when using the new ipad I need to use the cable that came with it bcause it needs more juice than the older ipads, ipods.  Now that I have them all together how do I physically tell which cable is the one that came with my new ipad so I can mark it with colored tape so I can easily pick out the right one?

All of the Apple iDevices use the same 3ft cable. A few iPad users that bought a longer cable from a 3rd party supplier report problems with charging, possibly due to the limitation of the small gauge wire and the 2A charge current.
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. In rare instances when using the Camera Connection Kit, you may notice that iPad does not charge after using the Camera Connection Kit. Disconnecting and reconnecting the iPad from the charger will resolve this issue.

  • Why won't my new iPad sync thru wifi with iTunes? My iPhone 4S has no issues.

Please help? I have set iTunes to allow sync via wifi?? I'm stuck

I find WiFi syncing can be a bit flakey and unreliable at times. I have my own issues at times, but usually, restarting everything will allow me to sync over WiFi again..
Have you tried rebooting your iPad - not while you are connected to the computer with the cable. Unplug the iPad before you reboot.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
Try again after you reboot. You may still have to sync with the cable one more time in order to try to set up WiFi syncing again.

  • Just bought a new iPad, and my highlights and bookmarks will not sync to it through iBooks.

Hey, I just bought the third-generation iPad. I have been reading on the iPad 2 for a year now, and have hundreds of books in my library. Because I'm such an intense reader, and value my highlights, it upset me when I bought the new iPad, synced it to iTunes, and then highlights and bookmarks were not transferred to the new iPad. The books were all out of order when they synced, and I had to rearrange them, but they were in the correct collections. This was my first hint that something was wrong. Next, when I opened my books, I could not find a single highlight in any of them. I checked all the books on my iPad 2 and they're fine as usual, everything is how I left it, including my bookmarks and highlights, and I even went into settings and made sure sync bookmarks was on on both iPads. I am completely confused and frustrated. I even put my new iPad into DFU mode and tried to re-sync everything, nothing is working. They just won't sync. Could someone please help me out, this means a lot to me. Also: is anyone noticing that the multitouch is slightly off with the new iPad? I'll go to tap dictation or drag an icon to another page, and it's just not that responsive. a few times I have clicked the dictation button but I gotten a space in instead. It seems you just have to press harder almost. Lastly, my 30 pin seems to be a little tight. I put a standard 30 pin sync cord that came with my original iPad 2 and iPhone 4 into the 30 pin and I almost had to jam it into the 30 pin slot. I work with iDevices all day long and have never had one that needed to be jammed in before. It doesn't seem good for the iPad. Yes, I am borderline about to return it, but the screen just looks so much clearer, I can't go back to my iPad 2. Wow, again I pressed the dictation button and the spacebar activated instead. If anyone can figure out this whole iBook situation so I can get my bookmarks and my highlights back, I would really appreciate it!

I also tried manually underlining a few things on the new iPad and when highlighting a paragraph, it would skip a few lines and the line would go through a few as well. Looks like a major iBooks glitch needs to be addressed here.

  • How do I sync new ipad to match old ipad

Is there a simple way to have a new IPAD sync in itunes to match the set up of an existing one rather than build it app by app?

    To add a little detail.
Plug in the old pad.  Transfer any purchases to I tunes.  Upload any photos you may have taken on the pad, or uploaded thru the camera connection kit onto where ever you store your pictures.
Then do a back up of the original pad.
Plug the new pad. Into I tunes.  Set it up, and select restore from existing backup.  It will copy all the stuff from the back up of the original device.

  • Why registration screen comes up every time my iPad syncs

i bough a ipad 2 reset my old ipad and registered the new one now every time my new ipad syncs the registration screen comes up

I have the same problem. I keep getting the iPad registration popping up in iTunes even though I have already done it. There must be some way to change a flag somewhere to stop this popping up.

I have a brand new ipad with iOS 6.1.3 and an imac with OS 10.5.8. I cannot update my OS on this machine, but want to sync the new ipad. What can I do?

If it's an Intel Mac, you can upgrade it to Mac OS X 10.6.8.
If it's a PowerPC Mac, you need to use these instructions and/or iTunes Match to put content on the iPad.

  • I have set up my new iPad 2 on my windowsn 7 computer, but experienced syncing problems from the start. It seems that it doesn't recognize the iPad, although it appears in iTunes. It only gives set up as new or restore options.

I have set up my new iPad 2 on my computer (Windows 7), but experienced syncing problems from the start.  It seems that although my iPad is regognized in iTunes as it appears there, it only gives met the options to set up as a new iPad or restore from the backup, no synching options. What do I do?

File>Devices>Transfer Purchases will transfer the itunes purchases to your ocmputer.
You should sync your ipod to your computer regularly.

I just synced my old iPad to my new iPad....the apps show "waiting" and I do not know why.  It has been 2 days.  I wiped my old iPad even?

Connect to iTune; and Check for available download (under Store). When download is completed, sync to iPad.

Not with your current user id.
Far too much uneccesary information in your post, which only confuses things, a vast amount!
    Let's start with iTunes.
Have you updated iTunes to 11.1.5, because the previous version did appear to have an issue about seeing iPods?
With iTunes 11.1.5 installed, look in Edit/Preferences/Devices, (or use the ALT key, followed by the E key and then the F key) and make sure that the box named Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically does not have a tick in the box.
Once you have doen those two things, check to see if the iPod is seen by iTunes.

By the way, what does IOS mean? (I thought IO stood for operating system, but am flummoxed by the S on the end.
    Really?
OS stands for Operating System. (In computer speak, IO means Input/Output.)
iOS originally stood for iPhone Operating System, but it now refers to the iPod Touch and iPhone. The iPod Classic, which you have listed in your profile as your iPod, does not use iOS.
I assume that you have been listening to the Podcast in your iTunes on the computer as you cannot transfer it to your iPod. It's what I'd do.

  • I am a new iPad user who has transferred an iTunes library from my laptop to iPad. How do I sync my iPod touch with my ipad

I am a new iPad user and have transferred my iTunes library from my laptop. How do I sync my iPod touch with my ipad

You don't.  You synch your iPod to your computer.  There's no way to synch from iPad to iPod.  You can tranfer the same playlists to your iPod from the computer.

  • If I transfer content from an iPad backup to a new iPad, are they synced, or can I change one without changing the other?

I have just bought a new iPad mini to use alongside my iPad Air.  They'll be used in much the same ways, just the mini being slightly more portable and the Air having a bigger capacity will have more content.
I'd like to set up my new mini from a backup of the Air (currently the Air doesn't have too much content that the mini will not have enough capacity), but then I'd like them to go their separate ways.  I'd like the mini to look how the Air currently does, but then I'd like to make tweaks to both of the devices, but in different ways to each other.  So, if I set up from back up and then delete an app or 2 off one, will it delete the apps off the other?
I assume they show up in iTunes as "iPad" and "iPad mini" or something different so I can use both devices with my Apple ID?
Or is it better to just set up from new and sync the bits I want to my new mini using iTunes.  That doesn't seem like it'd take so long, so might be easier?
    Thanks!

You can restore the Air's backup onto the Mini - if not already in your computer's iTunes library then copy them over from the Air via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases (your iTunes downloads aren't included in a backup, the restore picks them up from your iTunes library).
Deleting an app off one iPad won't remove it from the other, and yes, when connected to your computer's iTunes they will show up as different devices (you can change the names that they show up as via Settings > General > About > Name) and what you subsequently sync to one of them won't be synced to other unless you choose to sync it.
If you will be using the same iCloud account on both then you can use Settings > iCloud to control whether your Safari bookmarks, contacts, calendars are kept in sync between the two.
