New Ipad Verizon or At&t?

Shop New Ipad Wifi+4G At&T or Verizon?
What I work in Colombia, South America?
Thanks

Does the carrier you would be using in Colombia use SIM cards to access their network? If so, get the AT&T model. All iPads are unlocked so you can use it in South America.

  • HT4571 problem! connecting 3G network with new Ipad (verizon)

    device: new Ipad verizon, 16gb
problem: I got the device from US and I never activate it's original Verizon sim card yet. I tried to use a 3G data sim card outside US.
the dvice get antenna and bring the carrier name on top corner also say 3G beside it.
but when I try to use safari for browsing the net, it says : " could not activate cellular data network"
                  how can i fix it?
my carrier says the sim card is activated and working (the 3G sim i mean not Verizon)
    any suggestion?

Why are you using Windows print sharing with your nice network printer? This mode only supports printing, not scannning or faxing. The better way to do this is to attach the printer to your router with Ethernet or wirelessly so that all PCs (regardless of how they connect) can use all of it's features. Disconnect the USB cable and run the Wireless Setup Wizard (if you want to connect it wirelessly, otherwise, plug the Ethernet cable in to the printer and router) from the front of the printer (Setup >Network menu), then run the HP software to "Add a Device" on each PC.

  • New iPad Verizon Hotspot Failure/Solution - Tech Support Please Verify

    Potential Problem:
Upon initiating the New iPad's Verizon Hotspot, other devices initially see the iPad's SSID, then you receive an "Unable to join..." message and/or the SSID disappears, never to be seen by devices that you are attempting to connect to the iPad.
    Apparent Cause:
The characters used to name your iPad are the default, unchangeable characters used to name your iPad's Verizon Hotspot's SSID (the network name).
You cannot change the SSID, unless you change the name of your iPad.
Apparently, when it comes to naming the SSID, certain characters, maybe including spaces, are not allowed and subsequently corrupt any connection.
In my case, my iPad's name, and therefore it's SSID had a space and an apostrophe in it, one or both of which (probably the apostrophe), would not allow proper broadcasting of the SSID and the connection to the hotspot.
    Preliminary Solution:
ename your iPad using alphanumeric characters without spaces or special characters; stick with letters and numbers.
To rename your iPad, connect it to iTunes, and before doing anything, allow it to sync.
Then, with the iPad's name showing in the left-hand column of iTunes, double click it's name, which will allow you to rename the iPad.
Reboot the iPad, and hopefully, the hotspot SSID, which is your iPad's new name, will reappear among the visible networks on your other wireless devices.
Apple Tech Support should verify this problem/solution, then provide guidance as to allowable naming conventions that won't trip up the hotspot.

    Having the same issue...
After I get the "unable to join" message on my laptop, I turn off, then back on the Person Hotspot and then the second attempt to join from my laptop works...
I did rename my ipad, however i didn't use special characters or spaces...   maybe just renaming is causing problems?
It's stupid that you can't use your own sid!
I really hate these crazy issues.    Why can't it just work!

  • Does anyone else have issues with Verizon LTE service on the new iPad?

I have the new iPad. I have noticed that issues with the LTE signal have gotten progressively worse. When my iPad is sitting in 1 spot it will switch from 3 bars, to no service, to 3 bars, and so fourth. I might be on a website, or in an app that is using data and it works great. Then at random it says No Service again. I just added my iPad to my Verizon account with their new family data plan, so they sent me a brand new SIM card. I feel like I can rule that out.
I just want to know if anybody else has an issue with their iPad dropping service at random and jumping all over the board. I also have an iPhone on Verizon and it is with me always, I never have this problem with the iPhone. My iPad will say No Service but my iPhone will show nearly full service.
Just to add, I have switched off LTE for periods of time to see if things change. (that way both my iPhone and iPad are on 3G so I can compare) Things are no different when just running LTE.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. I am under warrenty and I have Apple Care. I hate taking stuff in and replacing it if I don't need to.
I am also signed up with a developer account through Apple, and my iPad has iOS 6 beta. This problem did not start with the beta software. It was the case before and after. I guess I was hoping if it was an issue Apple would address it with one of the revisions in iOS 6, but now I am starting to wonder if it is hardware.
    Thank you.

  • Can I use my iphone as a hotspot for the new ipad thru Verizon?

I currently own an iphone and have service thru Verizon.  Would like to purchase the new ipad.  I didn't know if I needed to spend the extra money for the wi-fi-4g cellular (verizon) and have to pay for the service monthly or could I use my iphone as my hotspot?  Any advise would be great!   Thanks!

Verizon does offer Personal Hotspot (aka "tethering") for the iPhone. You will have pay extra for the service. Contact Verizon to get pricing.

  • New iPad; Cannot log into Verizon

I purchased an iPad 2 w/ Verizon, and had no problems setting up the Verizon account or connectivity (I know for some that has been problem w/ Verizon). However, due to an issue w/ my first iPad 2, Apple gave me a new one.  At the store, they said whenI restored the new iPad it would find my Verizon account.  Therein lies the problem.  It did not work, and when I go to check my account, rather than getting the screen to log-in, I get the sign up for new account fields.  Any suggestions appreciated (before I burn a bunch of time w/ apple and/or Verizon).
    Thx,
    Scott

I have the same problem, as my iPad2 was replaced yesterday due to defect and when I tried to setup the Verizon account I had with the last one, the message says the account is already in use and to use a different e-mail account.  NO help from Verizon or store on why this one won't let me activate the Verizon service on this unit.

  • How easy it is travel abroad with the Verizon model of the new iPad?

On the specs listed on Apple's site for the new iPad, it lists GSM frequencies under Verizon model as well !!!
I am sure that one can't use AT&T SIM on the Verizon model, something must have been locked to prevent that.
But does anyone know how easy it is to pop in a foreign country 3G GSM micro-sim when travelling abroad into the new model Verizon iPad?
I have already ordered an AT&T model, but later realized that even the Verizon model shows GSM capabilities. If I could find conclusively about the foreign 3G GSM freedom on Verizon, I will definitely exchange my AT&T model for a Verizon one.

I don't think CDMA uses SIM card at all, hence no SIM slot in ipad 2 VZ model.
But LTE requires a SIM card, the VZ model of the ipad 3 is forced to have a SIM slot.
Here's an FAQ page from VZ site talking about LTE SIM:
    http://support.verizonwireless.com/information/4gsim.html
It's good (I am hoping truly that's the case) that Apple also allowed 3G GSM capability, this means one can pop out the VZ LTE micro-SIM and pop in any 3G micro-SIM.
I think there might be some lines of code from Apple to at least prevent an AT&T micro-SIM to work on a VZ ipad 3 just to prevent VZ from getting upset.
But other 3G micro-SIM's should work on VZ model. We can only find out on the 16th.
Here's one article that talks in details on this topic:

  • I have a new ipad min2.  I have the verizon activated.  but cannot find phone number.  I checked view account.  How do I get my phone number  asscoiated with my Ipad?

I have a new ipad min2.  I have the verizon activated.  but cannot find phone number.  I checked view account.  How do I get my phone number  associated with my Ipad?

Your ipad has a cellular access number in settings under cellular data.
it is not a phone, and that number can't be used to phone calls.

  • I have a Verizon card for Internet service and am trying to set up my new iPad. During the setup iPad recognizes my wireless but can't connect.  Any suggestions?

Updated product info .  Trying to set up Internet in new iPad using a Verizon wireless card.

A wireless card won't help. For set up, you need to connect to a wireless router, or via cable to a computer running itunes.

  • HT3574 on the new iPAD 4G Verizon has anyone been able to make the Hotspot work with the USB Cable to a Windows 7 PC ?

On the new Ipad 4G (Verizon) - I am unable to Hotspot it with the USB Cable. I can do it with Wi-Fi and Blue Tooth just fine - but not directly connected from the iPad3 to a Windows 7 PC. It detects, it even opens up the Folder os that I can see the DCIM but no internet on the PC (but works fine using Wi-Fi or Blue Tooth hotspot). Any ideas ?

Attach the cable to your iPad and then to the USB, than go to settings chose the third option "personal hot spot" turn it on, a notification will pop up asking you if you want to use wifi or Bluetooth just select no and automatically work.

  • Can't sync Verizon email with my new iPad

I have Verizon Fios Internet service for our PC.  Am unable to sign up for email on my new iPad using my Verizon.net address.  (Tried both POP & IMAP)  The MSG back to me asks if I want to continue without SSL, which I don't.  Does anyone know of an alternative Verizon address or what I am doing wrong?   Anyone else have this problem?  Thanks for any & all help!!!

Thank you for weighing in so quickly Robofrost! I happened to read another post on this and so I had turned off the iPad, turned of the wireless router - then started it up again and the iPad liked it! It always saw the signal but wouldn't connect for some reason! Cheers!

  • How do I set up my Verizon email on my new ipad

I have a new iPad and want to set up my Verizon email account for access. My home unit is an iMac running Tiger, 10.4.11. I would like to keep the mail on the server until I download them  on my home computer. I would like to be able to send mail also from my iPad.
    Cheers, Jack

You will not be able to sync your ipad with that computer. The minimum OS X is Leopard, 10.5.8. You'll have to set up your iPad manually and you will not have any really easy way to back up data or copy pictures and music to your iPad.
To activate your Verizon Account go to Settings > Cellular and tap the Account button to get started.

  • New iPad: AT&T or Verizon?

I've preordered a new iPad with Verizon and must admit that I'm not sure if that is the right choice. To me anyway, the 4G LTE coverage maps for both AT&T and Verizon are nearly meaningless. I don't plan to use data while in my own city (Madison, WI), but will when traveling on business - primarily to San Francisco, Denver and NYC. My reason for preordering the Verizon version is that they are allowing for Hotspot use now and Verizon has 4G LTE in Madison now, while AT&T won't have 4G LTE in Madison until summer 2013. I'm just wondering how everyone else makes their choice, based on what criteria or experience with the two carriers? I must admit I find it quite confusing.

I chose Verizon on my iPad 2. Have just used it once on a vacation trip.

  • If i buy a new IPad 4 on Amazon, can i use it verizon

I want to buy the new Ipad off Amazon.  Before with the Ipad 3 you had to pick the specific one for your carrier.  With the Ipad 4 I do not see any that say 4G or that are carrier specific.  If I buy the Ipad 4 will I be able to use it on a carrier even though it doesnt say specifically it is 4G in the title of the item?  Are all Ipad 4's able to be used on Verizon or AT&T?

Amazon is not an authorized reseller for the iPad. All the iPads they sell are from affiliates and many if not most of those will also be unauthorized. I'd strongly suggest you buy only from an authorized iPad dealer. If you have an Amazon credit, make a deal with someone who wants to buy something they can get from Amazon. They can then reimburse you so you can go out and buy your iPad from a valid source.
    Regards.
