New ipad:white on black theme broken?

this is my first apple product.
Anyway,i change the theme for the ipad to "white on black" and all the photos and videos appear to be in the negative mode. i contact apple and they say it is normal. i dont belive it is normal. did not want to argue with support, as they may be only telling the customers what apple management has told them to.
for me this is arrogance on part of apple,(not the support person i talked to).
is this not a bug. and im not sure if this exists on ipad2 as well.

Then change the theme and see if that fixes it.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • Tablet publishing on the new iPad White Paper

    http://blogs.adobe.com/digitalpublishing/files/2012/03/DPS_iPad3_bestpractice.pdf
I was reading through this article and most of it makes is pretty clear.
Can someone go into further detail on Overlays (resampled and pass-through) - specially in regard to resolution of assets (72 and 144)???
What is the best resolution to use for different asset types and for different iPads?

It would help if you provide a more detailed question. I'm afraid a rambling answer might might this seem more complicated than it is, but here's my take.
If you create a 1024x768 folio (no renditions), you don't need to concern yourself with resolution of assets. Use 72 ppi images as always.
If you create separate 1024x768 and 2048x1536 source files with two renditions, use 72-ppi images.
Let's suppose you're using one set of source files -- 1024x768 -- to create two renditions. When you import the articles into the 2048x1536 folio, the background content and overlay view areas are scaled up. What happens you have a slideshow, an image sequence, a video, and an image pan on a page?
Slideshow -- The slideshow is not a pass-through overlay, so the content on each state is scaled up and resampled as a PNG file. (If you're using the PDF image format, text and shapes in a slideshow are rasterized, unlike text and shapes that aren't part of an overlay.) In other words, you don't need to make any changes to slideshows or other resampled overlays (buttons, audio skins, scrollable frames).
Image Sequence - An image sequence is a pass-through overlay. That means if you created 400x300 72-ppi jpg images, these images are not scaled or resampled on upload -- they're simply passed through. For the hi-res folio, this is the equivalent of scaling up 400x300 images in an 800x600 frame. But with the retina display, image sequences look good on the iPad 3, though not as clear as if you use 800x600 72 ppi images. As I see it, you have three options: (1) just use the 400x300 image sequence, (2) create 800x600 source images and scale them down to a 400x300 view area, which looks great on both devices but increases folio size, and (3) create two sets of assets and put them on two different layers (or create separate 2048x1536 source documents).
Video -- Videos are pass-through overlays. Like the image sequence, a 400x300 inline video appears in the equivalent of an 800x600 area on the iPad 3. The same options apply.
Image Pan - This is the tricky one. Suppose you have an 1200x1200 72-ppi image in a 400x400 view area. On the iPad 1, you pan the 1200x1200 image within the view area. On the iPad 3, you pan the 1200x1200 image within the equivalent of an 800x800 view area -- the image pan overlay is restricted. For Pan & Zoom images, the best approach is to use different images. In this example, you would use the 1200x1200 image for the iPad 1 and a 2400x2400 image of the iPad 3.

  • My brand new iPad 2 goes black/unresponsive when I plug it in to charge.

I completely restored it to manufacture settings, even though I just got it today.
When I plug it in the screen goes black, and it is non responsive to home and sleep button.
Even when I unplug it i get nothing.
A soft reset solves it ... until I plug it back in to charge.
Is this a settings issue maybe?
    Any help is appreciated!!

  • IPad white or black

I have an iPad 1, but I'm gonna sell it and buy the iPad 2, but I don't know what color to get, any requests? Silver is out of the question!

No.  You are wrong, and you should be ashamed!
(Nah, just kidding.  The white does look pretty slick, too.)

  • New Ipad replaced for refurbished?

Hi all, a week or so ago , I got a new Ipad 64gb in black, all was fine for a while, until I saw a miniscule white dot on the lower left side of the screen.
I tried to clean it off, hoping it was some dust or whatnot, alas it didn't come off. Iassumed it was a dead pixel. Later that day I phoned applecare and booked an appointment at my local Apple Store.
The genius that was there was very helpful, stating that indeed it was a fault with the Ipad and not a scratch and would be replaced with a 'new' Ipad. So, off he went and brought a box down which wasn't like the ones you get new Ipads in.
At the time, I took a quick glance over, all looked fine so signed agreeing to erase etc etc and came home. Upon inspection, there are several scuffs to the sides with minor paint chips.
My question is this, can I take this one back, and also, if yes, can I demand for a new Ipad as opposed to a refurbished one. Yes, I'm partly at fault for not checking it out properly, but I'd paid quite alot of money and surely a new one isn't too much to ask is it?
Sorry for lengthy post, and I hope this is the right section.
    James

Hi Demo, thankyou for replying. I suppose I don't have an issue with it being refurbished, so long as it actually has no real defects to it.
It has a case and you can't really see the scuffs when its on, however I suppose I was abit taken aback when I wasn't really at fault, and they didn't offer a new one, seeing as I only purchased not to long ago.
I know I'm nitpicking, guess I should've looked it over bit more closely at the store.
Will let you know what the outcome is

  • Can the Galaxy SIII have a white on black Settings/Setup Screen?

I was at the Verizon store yesterday comparing the Galaxy SIII to the new  iPHone5. I need a white on black theme, like my iPhone4 has. The Galaxy had a white on black theme, except the Settings page. Could someone please verify that this is correct? I couldn't find a way to make the Settings or Setup page white on black.
I would appreciate anyone's input, the Galaxy would be my choice because of it's larger screen and feature's, but it's not having a white on black Settings page is a show-stopper for me.....

Thank you for replying! I guess I missed it when spending time with it, at the VZW Store. The bigger screen makes it my preference over the iphone5. Apple's only lengthening the new iphone by a half inch, just doesn't cut it.

  • Screen New Ipad

I dropped my new ipad and the screen is broken. The touch still works normally but the glass is cracked. Will the apple warranty cover this for free and if not how much would a repair or screen replacement cost?
    Tks

Accidental damage is not covered by the warranty, only manufacturing defects are covered. I don't know what country that you are in, but in the US the price for repair (i.e. replacement) is (from here) :
    iPad model
    Out-of-Warranty Service Fee
    New iPad
    $299
    iPad 2, iPad
    $249
And here in the UK (from here) :
    iPad model
    Out-of-Warranty Service Fee
    New iPad
    £256.44
    iPad 2, iPad
    £206.44

  • Need help with new iPad Air not turning on

My new iPad screen is black when I tried to use it this morning.  It charged all night.  There was a 'ding' sound when I unplugged and plugged in so I believe it has power.  Any advice? Thanks,

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

  • Removeable Anti-Glare screen for new iPad?

To clarify, I am looking for something that is meant to be taken off and on. For those infrequent ocassions when I'm outside or in a very high light environment and want to read.  I do not want something that applies like a screen protector. I already have a clear screen protector.  What I have in mind would be a snapon plastic overlay that can be removed and stored in a briefcase.  I've seen some that stick on the border, but they have to be washed before reuse, whereas I'd rather go outside, pull the anti-glare overlay out of my briefcase or backpack, use a spritz of screen cleaner and a cloth, and snap it on.
I realize a rigid plastic overlay would affect touch responsiveness significantly, but as long as I could turn a page in iBooks, I'd be alright.  Basically, I'm trying to make my Kindle obsolete.
Does such a thing exist on the market?

Have you looked at the Moshi Screen Protector?
Its removable, can be washed, no-bubbles, and it doesn't have any glare at all. Its got a matte-finish.
I love the concept of this screen protector, but I found the screen to be a bit fuzzy. Definently worth trying out though.

  • Is there anyway to import and edit 1080p50 video on the new iPad?

I've had a look around and I can't see any apps that allow this. I have a Panasonic SD900 which shoots AVCHD at 1080p50 and would really like to know if there's any way of getting those *.m2ts files onto the new iPad and then editing them.
    Thanks.

You'll need to remux those MTS files into MP4 / MOV / M4V files on your desktop computer with, say, iVI. THEN you'll be able to import the files. Please read http://www.iphonelife.com/blog/87/review-video-converter-ivi-pro-ipads-iphones

  • How to get apps on to new iPad when old one was defective and exchanged.

I purchased an iPad3, downloaded some apps that I had to payf for. The iPad had to be returned and exchanged because it was defective. How do I get the apps that I have paid for on to my new iPad without paying for them again. Thanks.

    Either...
If you have a backup for an earlier sync, set the new pad up from the existing backup.
If you did not get that far, no sweat.  As long as you are using the same apple id, go to the store, select the purchased button on the bottom.  You can reload those apps for free.
