New iPad 16gig wifi won't connect to Orange Livebox router...
I can see the router available as a choice in a list of wireless routers(presumably the neighbours' as well), I can select it, it changes from Gray to Black but then removes itself from the window...
I DO get a message about the 'base station', does this indicate a router issue?
I have a G5PPC imac working and a G4 powerbook and an iPhone all on this wireless connection - I can switch iPhone wifi on and off and the Livebox is readily found...
I also have access to a 10.6 macbook and it's network choice behaves in this fashion also - ethernet OK but no wireless....
I had the same problem. Unfortunately it seems that the Orange Live Box, which was previously the Wanadoo Live Box, is not compatible with a Mac. You can confirm this in the instructions for the Live Box. Completely rubbish and hopefully after mass buying of Apple products will convince Orange to upgrade their technology.
The solution that I use is to use a second router plugged in to the Live Box and connect to that instead. I can recommend the FONERA SIMPL from http://www.fon.com/en/product. I've now bought 2 as my parents also use the Orange Live Box at their house.

Turn Bluetooth off in Settings > General > Bluetooth
Having Bluetooth enabled while using Wi-Fi can cause interference.
Now tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
Restart the iPad. Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi. Make sure Wi-Fi is switched on.

New iPad won't connect to Mobile Hotspot using WPA or WPA2
I have a new iPad running iOS 6.01. It connects to wifi networks perfectly. I also own a Blackberry 9790 that is capable of running a wifi hotspot. When I try to connect my iPad to the mobile hotspot when WPA or WPA2 Encryption is used the iPad cannot connect. If I change the Encrypstion to WEP I am able to connect the iPad and wifi works on it.
Is there a reason the new iPad won't connect to a mobile hotspot that's using WPA/WPA2? Is there a way to resolve this issue?
I am able to connect my MacBook Pro to the mobile hotspot using WPA/WPA2 so I know that it's not my phone or the hotspot not working properly.
ThanksIt appears as though I fixed my own problem...I hadn't yet tried restarting my blackberry or my iPad since I had been trying to setup the mobile hotspot and connect the iPad. Anyways, I restarted both devices and then tried connecting using WPA/WPA2 and it worked.
iPad is now connecting to my mobile hotspot using WPA/WPA2 with no problems.
Maybe try doing the same if you haven't. -
I have a modem, and a separate (hard wired from modem) router in a part of my house that gets poor reception from the modem.My iPad won't connect to the auxillary router like my laptop does with ease. *Same thing happened with my perfecctly perfect dual G5 tower...motherboard burned out for no reason. Paid 1200 to replace that...then a year later the other main board fries...on a computer that barely ever got used...ended up having to literally give it away on Craigslist and buy a new iMac...which then made all my expensive music software and projects unusable. So I have about three years of special music project files sitting on a harddrive that will never be able to be used.
...I'm beyond frustrated since all we wanted the iPad for in the first place was to be able to check some websites and emails...help me help me.If the iPad works on other Wi-Fi systems then I'd have to agree that it is your own router causing the problem. To be sure take your iPad to a Starbucks or your library and a few other places than have Wi-Fi and test it out. If it works in those locations you'll need to talk to Comcast some more and be assertive. Something could have failed in your router.
Regarding your hard disk full of music. Put it in an enclosure and connect it to your Mac. Other World Computing sells all sorts of hard drive enclosures that you can install your drive in.
Computers can be frustrating but solutions are sometimes just around the corner. -

Hi, I was using my Ipad one day on the inrternet and it stopped connecting. It hasn't connected yet. I have wiped it reset it and all of the above but it still won't connect.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

My iPad won't connect to the iTunes store, I've never had any problems before. Also I have the sling box app and it isn't working either. It now says remote streaming is not enabled on this device and I have used sling box in the past with out any problems. Any help would be appreciated.

My iPad won't connect to my home wifi.
I took my ipad out for the day and when I got home it won't connect to my home hub. Says it is in settings but then the status icon just keeps turning round and there is no internet. I have two iPhone 4s' in the house and they are fine. Tried forgetting the network and then re entering the password, tried restarting iPad, tried rebooting iPad, tried turning off and resetting home hub. Nothing is working. Any help please??!!

IPad won't connect to WiFi network, but macbook pro & iphones will.
Both of my iPhones and my Macbook Pro easily connect to the wi-fi network. I feel like I've tried everything to get my iPad to connect. It used to connect perfectly fine and I'd watch Netflix, but then it started crashing. I work for a non-profit so it's a company network, not my personal one, but it's the only network I have considering I live here! Such a pain!
I've reset my network settings.
I've click "Forget Network"
I've done a hard reset of the iPad multiple times.

I get online via wifi. My iPhone connects fine as evidenced by this post. But my IPad just hangs there. After three or four minutes it connects to my printer. Well it thinks it does. I've never had this issue. I'm wondering if there is a setting I redid but I checked all and they seem fine. I was on my Windows laptop and all was good. Closed down and ate dinner. Tried iPad but it just won't cooperate.
I only have this connection with no backup. So it's vital I fix it. All suggestions welcome.Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)

• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

TS1398 I followed all your ideas above but still Ipad won't connect
MY ipad will not connect to the bt wifi box at home. It tells us that the password is incorrect but isn't. We have followed all of the ideas above but none will work. Thanks

New iPad 3 cannot connect to wifi
I've had a 3rd gen iPad for 2 years, and yesterday, after it sustained screen damage, I exchanged it for a new one. After setting the new one up, I'm incapable of connecting to any wifi connection. I've tried my home network, a friend's, my iphone's hot spot, and nothing works. I select the desired network, enter the correct password, and it seemingly attempts to connect, but the gray circle will just spin and nothing will happen. I've closely followed any and all advice the internet can offer: I've turned off/restarted my iPad and router, I've forgotten networks, reset network settings, I've gone into airplane mode, everything is updated, you name it, I've done it repeatedly, but nothing has worked. I'm baffled by this and at my wit's end. Has anyone else experienced anything this? Is there some trick that I might be missing? What is going on?

The New iPad will not connect to my wi-fi
I bought The New iPad yesterday. I have iPad One next to it. One will connect to my wi-fi network, the other won't. The New iPad won't.
The problem is the password to the wi-fi network. TNiP seems to want a longer password. My password is 4 characters long (I do not want to hear a word about security and my password) and after I type it the submit button does not highlight unless I key in more characters.
Is there anything I can do?

Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.
