New ipad2: touch screen does not respond

Hello, my name is Alessandro, I'm from Italy.
I bought a new iPad 2 from Apple Store. After a day of use the touch screen does not respond and sometimes executes commands at random. I updated the OS, I restored as a new device, but nothing has changed.
Someone can help me?

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • My phone freezes and the touch screen does not respond to my touch.

My i-phone 4 has been freezing up on me as of late.  The buttons will still work but the touch screen does not respond to my touch.
Is my phone hooped or can I do sometinhg to fix it?

First thing to try is a reboot of your iPhone. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the iPhone restart. See if that fixes your problem.

I cannot use it. I can get calls and text messages but I can't respond because the screen is locked and I can't "slide to unlock" because the touch screen does not work.

  • IPad touch screen does not respond even after full restore and update

    I have an iPad 2 64 GB
It has for a number of months intermittently stopped responding to any touch screen inputs. This issue began almost as soon as I opened the iPad for the first time. As it was happening very rarely and normally responded eventually, so I thought nothing of it.
This week the iPad will not respond to any touch input at all (Home, On/Off, Volume and Mute buttons still respond). I have tried the hard reset process a number of times and still nothing.
I backed up the device to my machine and applied the latest update 5.1.1 and still no response. I then did a factory reset and still nothing.
I have never dropped or damaged my iPad in any way.
Does anybody know of any ongoing issues with the touch screen or a solution to this problem?

    Thank you.
I've already booked myself in to the Genius Bar this week.
I suspect it is a hardware failure and more specifically a loose internal connection.

  • I dropped my phone and the very bottom of the touch screen does not respond. would i need to get the screen replaced or is there another way?

I've dropped my phone quite often, and the back of the phone is cracked, but I haven't bothered to fix it. I dropped my phone again today, and a tiny bit chipped off near the top edge of my phone. Later when i got home, I couldn't unlock my phone except when I slid my finger across the very top of the arrow and it JUST opened. but I can't use the bottom now, so on the keyboard, I can't type with the space bar and anything else at the very bottom of the touch screen.

At Apple Store for $149 you can get a replacement iPhone 4 which will be just like New. Everything will work perfect and the there will be no chips or cracks. New battery and buttons too. Make Genius Reservation and take iPhone to Apple.

  • My Q10 Screen blacks out & touch screen does not respond randomly

Hi Gang. Hoping someone can help... I've got a Q10 (only accessory is a screen scratch film) and recently the problem with the screen randomly going black has untenably increased after updating to the new OS.
    Key facts: T
he ONLY two ways the screen will come back is:
A: I restart by either removing the battery or pressing the power&mute button for 8 secs (and currently its now going black as soon as the hub initialises) OR
B: It <always> comes back when I plug in the USB cable connected to either power or pc and this seems to job it back to normality for a hour or so.
The phone is still operating when this may happen: for one example in the middle of a phone call (usually when i activate speaker phone) the screen will go black whilst still talking fine… but if i try and end the call/deactivate the speaker phone/do anything I hear the error beeps when i inevitably start mashing the whole keypad - but the screen will not reappear or read <any> finger gestures or singular power button pressing.
Btw. The phone passed all tests on the BBVirtualExpert App.
I have just installed the new OS 10.3.1.1779 (but it was happening before)
Anyone have any ideas? Anything to try or should I repair or get a new one. Thanks in Advance.

I have the exact same problem. Can't find a fix or answers anywhere

  • IPhone 5 touch screen does not respond when laid flat on a table. What do I do?

I just started noticing this when a friend sent me a text and I was unable to "slide to unlock" the screen to reply. I tried swiping through the apps, up and down, left and right--every gesture that an iPhone was built to detect. Even the assistive touch didn't respond! What's interesting now is that whenever I pick up the phone and it's no longer lying 180º on a table, it responds normally. Should I be worried?

I wouldn't be "worried" but it warrants a trip to the genius bar I would think.

  • Multi-touch Screen Does Not Respond to Tapper

My Ipod touch 64gb 3G just recently got problems with its multi-touch feature. It's a subtle flaw and I only noticed it while playing Tap Tap Revenge. I used to have 100% scores in some songs but now I can't even get anything above 96% in the same songs.
I observed that while there will be two notes coming down at the same time, one a simple note and the other one, a tapper note, or two concurrent tapper notes, the screen doesn't pick up the two notes, or picks up only the simple note, and drops the tapper note. It used to be able to pick up both just fine.
While playing other apps, I also noticed that there will be times when the same thing happens... while making bubbles in the Spongebob app, there are times when I couldn't make two bubbles at the same time, or when I tap two spots at once for a long time, only one registers a response. On other accounts, the screen would work just fine (i.e.: sliding, tapping two spots quickly).
I did restarting, resetting, re-installing the apps, restoring, but it still doesn't work. I will appreciate any comments on this matter. Thanks.

I just got my unit fresh back from the shop. They fixed it!
They have isolated the problem with my unit and they told me that it was too full (I have 63 gb worth of songs, movies and apps of the 64 gb) and this according to the technician was the reason for my problem. They removed all the contents of my Ipod, I re-installed the bare essentials, and lo and behold, the apps are working perfectly now.
    Thanks for the help!!!

  • My ipad2 is nearly useless since the instalación of ios8.0.2, the screen does not respond to touch, wifi freezes

SInce the installation of IOS8.0.2, my iPad 2 is nearly useles. The touch screen does not work, wifi freezes constantly, I am requested continuous to input my iCloud username and passcode. And the system is soooo slow that I have started to use again my old pc to do Internet searches. I have tried the iPad turning off and on but the problems restart shortly afterward. Any suggestions what can I do ? Is Apple doing anything in this regard?

    Try some basic troubleshooting:
    (A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    (B) Try reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
    (C) Setup as new (data will be lost if you do not have backup)
    Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings

  • I have recently upgraded from my iphone 5 to a new phone. My iphone 5 's touch screen does not work anymore. I need to backup my phone, but I can't do it on itunes without my password. Everything besides screen is ok. Is there a way around it? :(

I have recently upgraded from my iphone 5 to a new phone. My iphone 5 's touch screen does not work anymore. I need to backup my phone, but I can't do it on itunes without my password. Everything besides the screen is completely fine-the screen will not recognize my finger anymore. I am not trying to fix the phone, but I need to have my contacts. The pictures have already synced, but I need my password to do a full backup. Unfortunately, I can't type in my password. Is there any way around it? If I take my phone to the apple store, will they be able to help me? I am not willing to replace the screen just to do this, however, so that is out of the question.

Someone else may have a workaround, but, as far as I know, if you cannot interact with the screen on the iPhone, there is no way to unlock it so you can get to your contacts.
Were you saving them to iCloud by chance? If so, you can restore them to your new phone.

  • Is it possible to lock the camera so the screen does not respond to touch?  Everything else works but camera screen seems frozen.

My camera screen acts like it is locked.  Everything else on the phone is fine and I only have fourteen photo's on the phone, one day it worked and the next day the screen does not respond.  Have I done something?

    Hi there,
I would recommend taking a look at some of the troubleshooting steps found in the article below.

  • HT1414 touch screen does not work on my ipod when playing music on itunes, but works fine on every other thing on ipod

touch screen does not work on my ipod when playing music on itunes, but works fine on every other thing on ipod, can anyone help or what is the cause

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Feedback screen does not respond to input

I have a probklem with the new Firefox 9 upgrade (none of the images are shown in my yahoo emails, they are all blocked. I have tried everything that has been suggested in the forums re Page Info, etc etc, but none of it has helped.)
I tried to send a message about this problem to Mozilla via their Firefox Feedback screen using the option for those "not happy", but the screen does not respond at all to any input you type in. You can hit "Submit Feedback" as often as you like, but nothing happens!
    I am running XP Pro.

Yes you can still try webOS doctor by holding the volume up and the power buttons while you connect your USB cable. Go to this following web site to get the webOS doctor and follow the steps on the web page.
