New iPhone 4 keeps asking for voicemail password?

Hubs new iPhone 4 that he upgraded from 3G keeps asking for his voicemail password everytime he wakes it from sleep. He just hits cancel and moves on but it happens all the time. We don't even know what his voicemail password is and he never had to do that before on the 3G so what is up with that!
How can he get rid of this prompt?
Thanks!

Press and hold the "1" key or your phone's keypad & follow the prompts to reset your voicemail password, or dial 611 from your phone & have an AT&T CSR reset it for you. Once done, the prompts will go away.

  • IPhone 5 keeps asking for voicemail password, I do not want to give it

5-10 times per day, and usually while I'm driving and have GPS up on the screen, my iPhone 5 / iOS 7 will pop up and ask for a voicemail password.
I do not use voicemail. I do not want to set up voicemail. I do not want to have voicemail. I do not want to have a voicemail password. And even if I had a voicemail password I do not want my phone to have this password.
How can I stop iPhone from continually asking for this piece of information which is obvious that I will not give?

Voicemail is a function of the cellular account that you have with your cellular provider. Contact your cellular provider to have voicemail turned off.

  • I changed my email address for my Apple ID but my phone doesn't recognize my new email it keeps asking for my password for my old email

I changed my email address for my Apple ID. When I want to use iCloud my iPhone doesn't seem to recognize my new email it keeps asking for my password for my old email. I can't update the new address it keeps defaulting to my old one.

    Hello TirEoghain,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
First I would like you to try the instructions below to sign out of your iCloud account, and then sign in with your new Apple ID.
iOS 6 and later: Go to Settings > iCloud.
If you signed out before changing your Apple ID, enter your current Apple ID to sign in. The data from your iCloud account will download to your device.
If you're still signed in with your previous Apple ID:
Scroll down and tap Delete Account. Depending on what iCloud options are turned on, you'll be asked to confirm that you want to delete data from your device. To confirm, tap Delete. (If you're using iOS 7 and have Find My iPhone turned on, you'll be asked to enter the password for your previous Apple ID. Enter the password, then tap Turn Off.) The data will be deleted from your device, but not from iCloud.
Enter your current Apple ID to sign in. The data from your iCloud account will download again to your device.

Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Go to Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
Scroll down and tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
Tap “Keep on My [Device]” or “Delete from My [Device].” In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.

  • My new MacBook Pro keeps asking for my password in any application that I am in. I transferred from old Mac Pro via Time Machine

My new MBP will randomly ask for my password. It doesn't matter what application I am in, it could be in the middle of watching a dvd. The window will pop up.This is my second MBP, my last one kept crashing, and it was finally replaced. Can anyone help, please?
    Thanks

    Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select Change Settings for Keychain "login". In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.
    From the menu bar, select
Keychain Access ▹ Preferences ▹ First Aid
If the box marked Keep login keychain unlocked is not checked, check it.
    Select
Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid
from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access.

  • HT201272 How to retrieve previous iphone backup from laptop to sync onto new iphone?  Keeps asking for a passcode before it will restore the backup.  No idea what the passcode is.

I backed up my previous iphone the other day in anticipation of it being replaced (wifi stayed grey non stop) and now I have my new phone and want to put all of my old data on but it keeps asking for a passcode before restoring the backup.  I've put in what I thought it would be but get nowhere.  How do I get the password or change it?

If your iPhone was passcode protected, check out the first section here.
Or it could be that the backup itself was encrypted in iTunes; that is discssued further down in this same article.

  • HT1267 keeps asking for voicemail passwords how can I remember all these passwords

Phone keeps asking for a voicemail password, i cannot remember all these passwords and have never set one up what do I do..the phone is a 4s upgrade from 4

If you never set up a voice mail password, you need to contact your carrier and find out what the default they use is (often it is the last 4 digits of your phone number, but it varies vy carrier, so call them and ask).

  • Keeps asking for voicemail password

After installing iOS7 for iPhone 5, the system shows a screen that says voicemail password is incorrect. It appears for any function I try to do. How do I get rid of this annoying screen?

Really?  if you check the weather or open Safari, you get this message?
Anyway, I'm guessing you have not set up visual voicemail on your iPhone. The default voicemail password is often your telephone number (in the U.S., that would include the area code).  If that doesn't work, contact your cellular carrier for assistance.

  • Why does iTunes keep asking for my password when I want to listen to my music on my iPhone?

When I want to listen to music on my iPhone, iTunes keeps asking for my password.  I am not purchasing anything.  It started today.  Why is that?

I've been having the same problem on my iPad and iPhone. I talked to Apple customer service this morning. They had me do the following on both devices in the Settings:
    * Sign out of iTunes & App Store
    * Sign out of FaceTime
    * Sign out of Game Center
    * Delete iCloud account
They also had me restore my iPad due to some glitchy behavior in the Music app.
Things seemed to me fixed for a few hours until I went into the iTunes Store app on my iPad and added a movie to my Wish List. When I went back to the Music app, the dreaded "Sign In to iTunes Store" popup started showing up again on both devices. Suspicious!
So, I cleared out my Wish List in both the iTunes Store and App Store. I've been poking at the Music app on both my iPhone and iPad since then I haven't seen that popup once since then. I'm not going to declare victory yet since it's only been an hour or two, but I thought that this was worth mentioning.

  • I have gifted an airport extreme to a neighbor and I assumed she would be able to connect and "create a new network" with a new password on her iPhone. That didn't happen. It keeps asking for my password. What next? Thanks!

Have them perform a complete power recycle of their networking hardware. Please check out the following AirPort User Tip for details. Also, make sure that they perform a "factory default" reset on the AirPort (as described in the tip) to be sure to return the AirPort back to its "out-of-th-box" configuration.

  • I was told to restore my i phone as my battery wasnt working well. I made sure i backed up my iphone and transferred my purchases before restoring it. When i try to restore it to my back up settings it keeps asking for a password which i dont know?

My battery was not working properly (kept running out over a few hours.) I was advised at the apple store to restore my iphone which i did. When i try to restore it to my back up it keeps asking for a password but i have  no idea what this password is? could anyone help?

If your backup is encrypted, you cannot restore without the password.
You can continue to backup but you cannot restore without password.
There's no way to retrieve the password.
Warning: Make sure it's a password you will remember or write it down for safekeeping. If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and forget your password, you can't restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable.

    Hello steveod2
The main thing to do is to sign out all services on your iPhone, like iCloud, iTunes & App Store, iMessage and FaceTIme. Check out the article below for more information.

  • Accidentally merged my iPhone with my partners iPhone library now when she adds new app she is asked for my password

Accidentally merged my iPhone with my partners iPhone library now when she adds new app she is asked for my password, when she restores phone, my apps download onto her chosen wallpaper/phone 5c, she still has her content too, it's like we have two accounts merged into one even our music is one big jumbled mess! please help!?!?!

Yeah we thought about just syncing straight to her itune library...  But the problem is she had used her iphone 3gs to purchase a boat load of new music and apps during the past 30 days or so... And those now only show up in my itunes library...
Also - I want to be careful not to wipe out all of my content by syncing her phone with my itunes again... Are there any precautions to take to make sure that the sync ensures content writing to her iphone ... rather than the other way around?
    Thanks!
