New iphone 5 - no current access to home PC

I just bought a new iphone 5 and need to sync my 4s then start up my new phone - problem is i dont have access to my home computer - can i set them up on a second PC? Dont mind if i lose my music. I will be going back to home PC when i get it back.

Welcome to the Support Communities. You can easily back up your current phone to a new computer, then restore that back up to your new phone. There are a few steps to go over first. Make sure that no phones are plugged in.
Open iTunes Preferences and select the Devices tab. Select the option to prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically. Make sure the box is checked so that the phone will not sync when plugged in.
Then follow the steps on this article on the back up process.

If you have connected to other wi-fi successfully, then your wi-fi should be working. Try power cycling the router. Disconnect it from power for about 30 seconds and then restart it. After it has come back, try connecting again.

Stephen Spark is right - your best alternative is to use a simultaneous dual band wireless router like the AirPort Extreme. Your Cisco Linksys2000 is not a dual band router, meaning that it will be constrained to operate at the slowest speed of all the devices on your network.
The AirPort Extreme's dual networks will support all your 802.11n devices as well as all your 802.11b/g devices on both the 2.4 and 5 GHz frequencies simultaneously.

New iphone 4s will not connect to home wifi. Says password is incorrect, but it is not.

make sure your home wireless network is not "hidden." Settings -> Wi-Fi -> select your home network, it it's hidden, select "other" and manually type in the network name, password, and select security type.

How can I store my iTunes library on my new iPhone 6 rather than access it remotely through iCloud?

My old iPhone actually stored my iTunes music library so I could play it on my sonos system. the new iPhone 6 stores it remotely on iCloud which is not supported by sonos. Means I can only use my iPhone to control my music through my iMac meaning it has to be on all the time- a real pain!
Any help to overcome this would be brilliant

To change the ID for iTunes (including app updates) go to Settings>iTunes & App Stores, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with the correct ID. For iMessage, do the same thing in Settings>Messages>Send & Receive. For FaceTime, do this in Settings>FaceTime.
If you need to change the ID for iCloud, you'll have to delete the account, create a new account with the other ID, and migrate your data to the new account. Before deleting the account, if you have any photos in photo stream that are not in your camera roll or backed up somewhere else save these to your camera roll or you will lose them. To do this, open the photo stream album in the thumbnail view, tap Edit, tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll. Once this is done, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, be sure to select Keep On My iPhone. Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID (if you don't have one, tap Get a Free Apple ID at the bottom). Then turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On, and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge. This will upload the data to the new account.

My iphone and my pc both broke around the same time (unrelated incidents!). My iphone was sent away for repair and returned working but set to factory default no apps etc, I've now got a new pc too. How do I access the apps / audiobooks that I had downloaded before? Does this situation mean I've lost them as they weren't backed up anywhere? (Maybe I've learnt the hard way )

You can use the option Assistive Touch (Settings > General > Accessibility >AssistiveTouch On) for use the buttons that be broke. You can turn up and down the volume and use the Power off button.
If it doesn't work, I would go to carrier shop and if they can't fix it, Surely I'd buy one.

AT&T and new iPhone Question

Hey everyone, I had a quick question I was hoping someone could help me answer regarding upgrading to the new iPhone. I currently have a family talk plan with AT&T and have unlimited data. I am the only one on my account who plans on upgrading to the new iPhone. Because it seems like the new iPhone will have LTE what does this mean for my data plan? Will I now have to make the switch to the shared data plans and lose my grandfathered unlimited data plan? Is there any way to avoid this? Thanks in advance for the help.

What I'm trying to tell you is that for all practical purposes, you're now paying $30 a month for 3GB's of data. What you need to do is compare that to AT&T's new offerings. As an example, when iOS 6.0 is released, it will enable FaceTime over 3G. However, AT&T has already announced that only customers on their new "Shared Data" plans will be able to FaceTime over 3G on AT&T's network. Shared Data also enables Personal Hotspot..."unlimited data" plans do not.
You really need to compare apples to apples & get this "unlimited data" out of your mind, because the fact is you really don't have such. So, you pay $30 a month for 3GB's of data with no FaceTime over 3G & no Personal Hotspot. Now compare that to AT&T's new offerings & make your decision.

To sync contacts to your new iPhone you want to first
1: Connect iPhone 3G to computer with the latest version of iTunes (11.0.4.)
2: From there click under the device summary and look for your iPhone.
3: You should be on a page that should say summary on the top part of your phone where it'll say "Summary, info, music, applications, etc.
4: Click on Info and then you should see a box where you can put a check mark next to the words, "Sync Contacts."
5: Sync your contacts
Option 2:
1: Go to the summary page as described above and make a backup of your iPhone 3g onto your iTunes
2: connect your iPhone 5 and then open up the summary page
3: ON the summary page you want to click on "Restore backup" and select the backup you JUST made today (check the time stamp)
4: THis should put all your contacts, pictures, and settings from your old phone onto your new phone with no issues

Restart your WiFi router by removing power for 30 seconds.
Use Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your iPhone 5c.
Attempt to connect.
If you are still having WiFi problems it is necessary to isolate whether the problem is with your network or your iPhone. Note: Do NOT consider your network to be blameless if some other devices can connect to it.
First, test your iPhone on some other WiFi networks: a friends, Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, etc.
If it works well there then the problem is probably with your network. Check for a firmware update for your router. If none exists which corrects the problem consider replacing the router.
If your iPhone does not function well on other networks it possibly has a hardware problem. Contact Apple Support or visit an Apple store for evaluation. They can provide a replacement if your iPhone is bad.

New iphone 5 is hung in recovery mode.

After acivating and setting up my new iphone 5, I plugged it into home computer and it asked me to install the latest version of itunes onto the phone. I ok'd that and the download seemed to progress fine. When it started to install, it looked like all was proceeding until the end where I got a message that itunes could not be installed. Then got another message that before itunes could be installed the phone would have to be "restored". After reading that restored meant going back to factory defaults, I was reluctant since I had gotten emai accounts, and other stuff set up throughout the day. But, the phone wouldn't function. All I get is a graphic of a usb cable feeding into the itunes logo!!!!Grrrrrrrrr! So i ok'd the restore and after a couple minutes got a message that it was in revovery mode and couldn't be restored.
Help!

If it's not working and the lock button isn't functional, it's not likely you're going to get it working. Make an appointment at the genius bar and see if they can either fix the lock button or replace the phone.
