New iPhone 5s booting from apps

My iPhone is only 2 weeks old and has all its updates, I shut it on and off regularly but it boots me from various apps for no reason. I've had the problem with Facebook, the Weather Network, Instagram and a game.

Is this a new iPhone?
If so, when connecting a new iPhone to iTunes for the first time that has been used to sync with another iPhone or iOS device, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device to the new iPhone, or set up the new iPhone as a new iPhone.
If you don't want to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device, select set up as a new iPhone. No existing data or settings will be erased or changed when selecting as a new iPhone. Not that difficult or difficult at all.

You may need to update the software. For now, set up as a new iPhone and then go to Settings > General > Software Update. Update to the latest iOS (5.1.1), then go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings to go through setup again and see if your backup appears.

Sounds like you did the former and if so, this did not include backing up the new iPhone first. All data on the iPhone was replaced with the backup for the iPod Touch. The data that was on the iPhone at that time is gone.

Thanks for the straightforwardness roaminggnome - I wasn't sure if this problem qualified as deseving a reset. Unfortunately, for some reason I can't explain, your response remained undisclosed to me for a while, the next reply after yours took preference and I ended up doing as Meg St.Clair's susgested and initiated download, installation and syncing of Smartsync which is now taking ages to finish... If problem persists shall do the resetting and restoring.

You may do whatever you like.
If you want to set it up using the backup of your old iphone then choose that.
If you do not then choose as new.

You must be trying to sync it with a different computer than the one it used last. No, there is no other way to do this.
The iPhone may be synced to one and only one computer at any given time. If you choose to sync it to another, you can do that as often as you wish, but its content is erased first.

Actually, they will both accomplish the same thing on a new
(different). The difference is that setting up new will lead
you through all the questions and such and restore from backup
will just do it.

If you set up it as new, you will lose the settings, but not your apps. You can try to restore from the backup because you will recover your settings and your apps automatically

I think I am following -- I was able to upload to my iPhoto and all photos and videos are there that is a plus! I tried to create an Event in my iPhoto and put all of my photos in that event but for some reason, now my iTunes it not recognizing that Event in my iPhoto. It is not allowing me to import just that event at the moment but I may be doing something wrong. At least all of my pics and vids are in iPhoto so that is a plus and I know they are at least saved somewhere. Just for some reason, my iTunes it not locating the event that I created with only those photos.

Also, I had no clue that my iCloud could be backed up via cellular data! However, is this a new feature with the most updated iOS?? Unforutnatly I am like 2 iOS updates behind because I don't have enough storage on my phone. New iphone but far from my itunes

I just got a new iphone 4 but my pc which has iTunes on it is in storage 2000 km away. I'm currently still using my old iPhone 3G.
Can I use the new one without connecting to iTunes and once I have my PC synchronize from the old one through iTunes to the new one so that I don't lose any data (contacts, photo)? Or is there any possibility to transfer what I have on my old iPhone to the new one? Would it be an option to download iTunes again to my netbook which I'm using right now? As for the apps + music, can I download them again for free on the new phone? Soory many questions... Thanks in advance

Thanks. I messed up with my husbands iphone because I was told the wrong thing. Now everytime I sync his phone it makes it look just like the other phone I had. Do you know how I can fix taht for his phone? Any settings I can turn off that will prevent all of my apps/contacts, etc from auto populating his phone?
