New iPhone 6 Plus battery standby time is 12 hrs

I bought my iPhone 6 Plus directly from Verizon website about a month ago. Since than, I am having constant battery problems and it is practically burning during a charging process. ( I am using the charger that came with the phone). I checked the battery standby time today and it is less than 10 hrs when the battey is at 76%. (only used for 2 hrs and 46 min after last full charge).
Iphone 6 plus suppose to have good battery time (10days standby time) while my brand new phone has standby time of 12 hrs. What should I do?

Maybe you should  contact Apple Support and talk to them. They can check the battery online.
You can also visit this page to do that: iPhone - Contact Support - Apple Support
Click on Apple Support, then on ->Battery, Power &Charging ->Battery questions and troubleshooting, and follow the instructions.

  • Battery Standby time difference: Why iPhone 4 has more than 4s and 5?

How come the iPhone 4 has more to it when it comes to the standby time for it's battery than iPhone 4s and 5? it shows on the device comparison that iphone 4 has 300 hours for standby time and the other two had less (225 and 220 hours). Would there be any specific article number in the Apple support page that would explain the reason for the battery standby time difference?

I got a new iPhone 5 about 3 weeks ago. I notice that from time to time in my pocket it heats up high enough I can feel it trough the material, but not as to burn.  I read in a post in this fuorum that this hapened for some iPhones after they updated to the new IOS either when is recharging or some blame it on heavy gaming. Mine was not recharging and no game apps open, just the usual iTunes, Messages and phone as usual when I carry it. It happens about every other day, I can feel it through my pocket and soeme times when I am holding it it is quite hot. After a couple of minutes it seem to cool off again. it just does not seem right. (Im posteing in different discussion to see where I get an answer before taking it to the geniuses )
PS: Dave049 I'll try your suggestion and try re-adjusting the SIM card . if it works I let you all know. thaks for the idea

  • Is my iPhone 5s battery usage time normal?

Hey there, I would like to find out is my iphone 5s battery usage time normal? Last night before i plug it in for charging it was recorded 4 hours and 33 minutes of usage time and 13 hours of standby.
is that normal? The most usage time i have tried before is up to 5 hours.

are you using it on wifi or cellular data? if wifi then it just the same on me. 4-5 hours.

  • HT4528 My new iPhone has a lag time before it turns on?  I need to make an appt with Tysons to get it repaired.

My new iphone has a lag time before it turns on.  I think it may need to go into Tysons for support.  Do you have any other options for me?

What exactly do you mean by lag time when tutned on?  If you startup from a shutoff condition you have to hold the power button for a few seconds before the startup sequence begins...and then the apple logo will stay on-screen for a minute or so as it powers up.
If you are talking about waking from sleep, how long is this taking?
If you are concerned, by all means take it in for testing...but Apple does not repair iPhones, they replace them if defective.

  • My new iPhone 4S restarts several times a day...

My new iPhone 4S restarts several times a day...
    I have iOS 6...
    How can it be fixed?

Same issue here.  I'll be using the phone and the screen will all of a sudden go completely dark to the point where I can't see anything.  But the phone still works as I can hear the click sound when I click the sleep button or slide the bar at the bottom.  But the screen is completely blacked out.  I have the shut the phone off and turn it back on to solve the issue.  This happens at least twice a day.  What is the solution?

  • Brand new iPhone 4 battery drain

I know there are many posts regarding this subject but my issue is very strange.  I had a 3GS for 2 years and it had IOS 5.01 but beginning last Friday the battery began to drain.  I went to an Apple store and the tech told me that the problem was that the usage time and the standby time was exactly the same.  So he tells me to do a restore and set it up as a new phone.  I tried everything...restore from backup, restore as a new iPhone...no change.  So I am thinking that the battery is toast.  Time to upgrade.  I go to ATT to get my new iPhone 4 on Wednesday and get home to set it up on iTunes.  Now my brand new iPhone 4 is doing exactly the same thing as my former 3GS.  I opened a case with Apple today and was told to do a backup then a restore from the backup.  I did not sync any of my apps or music.  Left work at 5pm with a 100% charge, did not use the phone at all for 2+ hours, checked the charge at it was at 74%.  I checked the usage and just as I suspected the usage time and standby time were exactly the same, as if I had been using the phone for 2+ hours.  Apple says they will send me another phone but I really don't think the problem is the phone.  The only common denominator is iTunes.  Any thoughts?

Dlwynn, this is a crazy issue. I can only immagin how frustrating this issue could be for you!
One thing I have found when dealing with any possible hardware or software issue, that I need to get isolated is to scrap the whole back up/restore from back up, and restore the device as new, and see where you are at without all of your stuff on it.
When doing this procedure its important that if you DO have important stuff on the phone you do not want to lose that you back it up in another way...Contacts into windows contacts or use iCloud. You would stand to lose application settings, text messages and call history ..because these are things that are only stored in the back up.
You can save your pictures to your computer using Auto play.
Another way to go about it would be to navigate to your hidden back up folder, copy it to your desktop..restore as new...and if that does not resolve your issue, you put your back up thats on your desktop back into the hidden back up folder, and restore from your back up.
Anyways with all of this being said..If your batter drain issue persists with restoring your device as new in itunes...that would prove a hardware failure.
If the issue goes away after you restore as new. that means that something within your back up was the source of the issue.
The other common thread here is that you keep restoring from your back up.
Anyways I hope this helps you

  • My new Iphone's battery does not hold charge for long; do you have the same problem?

Greetings, I had a new iphone 4S -  bought March 2013, died suddenly September 2013. Iphone replaced by a new one, which seemed to work fine. Suddenly, noticed three days ago that the battery does not hold, even for one day, even with very little use. Charged battery yesterday morning, as it was dead, used phone a few times during the day, still had half batery full at bed time; this morning there was no battery at all - had discharged completely overnight doing nothing. Has anyone had this problem?
It means that I will have to travel a long way to the nearest store to have it looked at. Had already done this last September to replace a dead phone. One would have expected better quality and reliability from a Company like Apple.

Sounds like the battery needs replacing.  Bring the phone to Apple for battery diagnostics.

Your one-year warranty includes replacement coverage for a defective battery. You can extend your coverage to two years from the date of your iPhone purchase with the AppleCare Protection Plan for iPhone. During the plan’s coverage period, Apple will replace the battery if it drops below 50% of its original capacity. If it is out of warranty, Apple offers a battery replacement for $79, plus $6.95 shipping, subject to local tax. Apple disposes of your battery in an environmentally friendly manner.

im seriously losing so much hope ive been wanting this iphone for ages and THIS *****.
a few of my frineds have this problem too but some say their battery is better than ever
my iPod touch gen 4 even lasts longer, and i need my phone.
Please help, dont tell me to retry any of the above because i have about a million times for all of them

There was a bug in iOS 6 that introduced a bug with Exchange calendars that was plugged with 6.0.1. 6.1 introduced a new problem with calendar invitations, i.e. if you refused a calendar invitation for something like lunch every third Thursday, or the invitee withdrew it, then it throws it into a calendar loop where the server and your iPhone are contantly talking to each other. This will rapidly drain your battery, heat up your iPhone and, if you have enough iPhone users affected, impact the Exchange server. Try disconnecting from the Exchange calendar, or delete your Exchange account and reenter it without activating the calendar, and see what happens to your battery.
Apple is aware of this issue and working on an update.

  • New iphone 5c battery stuck at 50%

I let my new iPhone charge all night and re-started it several times but the battery is still stuck at 50%

Perform a "hard reset" on the device by pressing down and holding the home button and the sleep/wake button for up to 30secs. until you see a black screen with the Apple logo, then release.
Then test to see if it solved the problem.

  • New iphone 5 , battery wanting charged at 14% remaining

hi guys recd my iphone 5 in last couple of days turned it on this morning and showed 14% then cut off and i got the charge icon, i then left it 5 mins and hit on button again andi ts now come on at 11%
is this normal or am i better getting swapped over as within 7 days?

An expired warranty does not mean the phone has no support.  I'll try rewording my post:
Apple will replace the battery in the phone, for a fee. No warranty required. They do not sell batteries.  If you buy a battery anywhere else there is no guarantee as to its quality, and if you fit a battery yourself you forfeit all future support from Apple, the most important being the out of warranty replacement service which would save you hundreds of pounds/dollars if your iPhone fails at any time. Out of warranty means no warranty required.

  • My new iphone 5S battery drains very quickly

I just purchased an iphone 5S in January 2014, but the airdrop was not working and the phone was not recognizable to anyone else. Other than that it was great. I took it to the Apple store and they determined that it was some sort of bug and unfixable so they gave me a "new" iphone 5S.  airdrop worked immediately and I was on my way.  This "new" phone seems to start draining the battery as soon as I take it off the charger.  I use it for 5 minutes , check email, write a quick email, and 5% is gone immediately.  It drains much faster than my first phone.  Is there anything I can do or reset to fix this issue.  Rarely does my phone's battery last the entire day and I am not a heavy iphone user.

  • Brand new iPhone 6 battery life dropping very fast and charging even faster

my brand new iPhone 6 that I have just recently started using the day before has a surprisingly bad battery life. whrn first turning on the phone to use the battery life only last 1-2 hours with average use. when the battery died this morning I pluhe'd the phone into charge and the battery is charging very fast already at 25% and only being charging for about 15-20 mins. I would like to know if anyone else has experienced this problem and if it is normal or if I have just recieved a faulty iPhone 6?

    Can you check:
    1. What apps show on settings - general - usage - battery usage?
    2. How many apps have permission to use cellular data?
