New iPhone - How do I move everything from my old one?

In my left hand I'm holding my old iPhone 4. In my right hand I'm holding my new iPhone 4S.
How do I do to make an identical copy from my old phone to the new?
I'm asking you because I have had a lot of trouble with this recently, and now I want to do it correct.
Please advise.

Thanks for the answers. This is the obvious way to do it, but unfortunately doesn't work.
I have some third party apps whos information doesn't come along (eg Filemaker, Downcast, Omnifoucs).
Furthermore, my messages (SMS) and call history doesn't come along.
What am I doing wrong?

What I mean is still track my stolen one. I don't know if this will make sense to you but I'm thinking that if I restore the back up data on this phone..on my stolen phone it will like forget the icloud account or something and think this phone is the stolen one so when I go to track the stolen one, it will show that phone as the one I have now because I restored the back up from that phone.

As long as they are already ticked in your iTunes then yes. Just to check do a sync and as long as everything stays the same you are good to go.

Perhaps the fastest and simplest way would be to just take both devices to the nearest AT&T corp. store and get them to do it. Then you can sync the iPhone with Contacts on your Mac (or outlook on your PC) or with iCloud to back them up for safekeeping.

That's actually bad. Peruse Pondini's Setup New Mac guide and seriously consider starting over.

You cannot move or copy software between computers. You must reinstall. You will need the serial number. Check your account details on Adobe's site if you registered.
