New iPhone phone number not showing in iTunes

Hi,
I bought an iPhone 5s today and after syncing my iTunes content from iTunes to the new phone I've noticed that my new phone numer isn't showing like it did with the 3GS. The phone itself is showing up ok, as is my music content and apps,  but the phone number isn't. Its not a big deal but I thought I'd ask all the same as it might help someone in the future.
Thanks.

This happened to me also.. Got me concerned when I didn't see my number in iTunes.. After a couple days (could have been less, I didn't notice) it appeared again. It was working fine so I didn't really mind. I don't think though that it has anything to do with the VM seeing as my VM had been working fine when I noticed the number missing.
Anyway, it works now so...

  • Why is my phone number not showing up in iMessage?

I have a MacBook running 10.8.2 and iMessage does not have my iPhone number as part of the account.  I'd like iMessages sent to my iPhone to also show up in iMessage on my MacBook.  How do I get my phone number to show up in my Apple account on my MacBook?
I tried logging out of my Apple account on my MacBook, then logging out of the same account on iPhone, then disabling iMessage on iPhone, then enabling iMessage on iPhone and logging back into the Apple account, then logging back into the Apple account on my MacBook.  That didn't bring my phone number into iMessage on my MacBook.

    Hi,
    Actually that is not true
The Message Beta app Synced Apple ID iMessages but not iMessages sent to the iPhone Number.
This effectively made those iPhone to iPhone conversations private.
It did seem the Mountain Lion advertised that the iPhone Number syncing would happen on release but we had to wait to OS X 10.8.2 and iOS 6
I dis the Mac OS first and then the iOS devices.
I got pop up messages to say the Message app on the Mac would be using the iPhone Number (with Accept or Not options)
I was able to keep my second iPhone Unlinked from the Messages app.
I know some people are waiting on updating the Mac OS for some non Apple Apps to be updated.
Others are waiting on the iOS front for something to replace Maps with.

  • My iphone 3gs is not showing in itunes despite restarting and reloading itunes, please help!

I have re-loaded itunes but my phone is not showing. I have run diagnostics on it as well but the tests show that the ports cannot find the device. Any suggestions are gratefully received.
    Thanks.

when all else fails, take it to the apple store. They are very helpful and are fast! My iphone 4 is now acting up. It said it needed to restore to connect, so I restored it. Now it is saying that there is no sim card, ugh. I will be making my way to the apple store very shortly.....

  • MY phone number not showing above phone keypad

When I was at the Apple Store tonight, buying my new phone, Mr. Orange Shirt did something so that MY phone number would show above the phone keypad. It's gone now and I'm not sure what I did. It's a new number, and I liked having it so accessible.
Help! How do I get it back?

The number that shows above the keypad is the number you dial. Your own number will show at the top of the contacts list. A quick way to get to the top of the list is to tap the top bar where the time is shown.

  • My new Iphone 4s is not recognized by itunes

I have two other iphone 4s that are 16g and they both have the latest OS and show up in itunes as a device. Using the same connector, the new 4S 64g that I just received ( bought on ebay) is not recognized by itunes. Wi fi and phone work ok, charger, etc. I've restarted the phone, updated the OS,  rebooted the computer, checked online for advise but nothing has helped. Thinking there may be something wrong with the thing which is a drag because I bought it for the extra capacity to store music from itunes.
    Any suggestions?

Answering my own question this time since posting, found similar query and fixed it.
Went to control panel in Windows 7, printers and devices, down at the bottom shows the device
right clicked and chose troubleshoot. Turned out that the device drivers had not installed and the troubleshooter did
that automatically. Problem solved. Then the device showed up in itunes.

  • New i-phone 4 not showing up when I try to sync to i-tunes

I just purchased the new iphone 4 today. When I came home to sync it, it said my desktop was too old of a model and I would need to upgrade. Called the store and they said I had to come back to purchase a Mac Box Set to upgrade. Brought that home and installed successfully. When I plugged my old i-phone in to sync first, it will only come up as a camera. When I open i-tunes, it is not showing up on the left side as a device. It's not recognizing it. They are telling me I have to either call tech support at 8 in the morning, or drag my desktop and phones in to the store at 9. I am going on a trip tomorrow and would love to get this solved tonight!!!! Anyone out there know how to tell me how to get the old phone to show up and sync it?

    1st: Try uninstalling iTunes
2nd: Restart your computer (to make sure all iTunes services shut down).
3rd: Install iTunes (using the newest version from the apple website)
    Then try again. Good luck

  • IPhone 6 does not show in iTunes when using WiFi

My iPhone 6+ shows up in iTunes when connected via USB. But if I disconnect the cable and turn off iTunes and then come back later it does not show up like my iPhone 5 did using OS 7.
I have the option selected in iTunes to "automatically connect using WiFi".
I have tried turning off my phone and restarting iTunes but it does not help.
    Any suggestions?

    Greetings Paul,
It sounds as though you are attempting to sync with iTunes via WiFi, and are running into some complications. After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice concerning iTunes WiFi sync:
    Sync using Wi-Fi
    Open iTunes
To set up Wi-Fi syncing, connect your iOS device to your computer with the included USB cable.
Click the Device button in the upper-right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button first.) If you don't see your device, choose View > Hide Sidebar.
In the Summary tab, select "Sync with this [device] over Wi-Fi."
When the computer and the iOS device are on the same network, the iOS device will appear in iTunes, and you can sync it. The iOS device will sync automatically when the following conditions are true:
    The iOS device is charging.
iTunes is open on the computer.
The iOS device and the computer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
While the iOS device is in the left-hand column of iTunes, you can select the content tabs and configure sync options.
Click Apply or Sync to sync the iOS device.
If the iOS device doesn't appear in the Devices section or you can't sync, please try these steps.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    BobbyD
