New iphone (replacing an old one) keeps asking me for an old friend's apple id
I just replaced my old iPhone 4s with a new one (new number, new job, etc.) After downloading all of my info from the cloud and setting the new one up with my apple id, everything seemed fine. Now, everytime I wake the phone up or open my messaging app or frankly any other app, it asks me for a very old (like 5 years ago, I guess there are songs in iTunes??) apple id. I don't have, nor do I want, the password to that account- is there a way to figure out what needs that password so I can delete it??
Thank you!
Chelsea
There is no easy way to do this.
You can take all of the apps and music off the phone and sync bits back to the phone to determine which song/app requires the other Apple ID.
You could also try viewing the properties of each download in iTunes to find out which Apple ID made the purchase.
In iTunes go to your library > Click on a app or song > Right Click > Get Info > Summary view which Apple ID made the purchase.

Hey there i downloaded apps using another apple id than the one am using right now and i need to update the apps they keep asking me for the old one that i dont have any more what to do please
Apps are permanently tied to the ID used to purchase them.
Go to https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/ and re-set th password for the old one.
Then, log into the app store with it and update the apps purchased with that ID. -
=I got a replacement iphone 4 and now it keeps asking me for my kids passwords for the apple id. How do I remove their accounts without messing up their passwords?
An iTunes account cannot be transferred to or created on an iOS device by itself.
Did you sync your iPhone with iTunes when iTunes was logged in with your kid's iTunes account - did you transfer any iTunes content to your iPhone including apps that were downloaded with your kid's iTunes account?
If so, this is why you are being prompted for the password for that iTunes account. -
I'm trying to make a payment on my iPhone to AppStore but it keeps asking me for my security code from my card and now it just tells me to come here for support
The "backup password" refers to a password you created when you elected to encrypt your iPhone's backup. If you cannot remember the encryption password, you will not be able to access the backup.

/Could be that you need to update an app. All apps are tied to the apple id that was used to download apps.

i thought i did but when i go to actualize the app it keeps asking me for his password cuase his apple id shows ....
what should i do? do i reset it completly and lose all the muisic and pictures?- Go to settings>Store and sign out and sign into your account.
- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account. -

TS2446 I made a new ID but my old one keeps poping up everytime I try to download an app.
I can't download any apps because they keep asking me for the password of my old profile an I don't know what it is
Have you tried getting the password reset for your old account : http://iforgot.apple.com ? All of the content that you downloaded with that account will remain tied to that account, so only that account will be able to redownload its content and/or download updates to its apps.
What id shows at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app on your phone ? If it's the old one, and you don't want to use that account, then tap on it and log out of it and then log back in with your new account. -

I am trying to download my contacts from my iTunes to my new iPhone. I never did a back up on my old one. So I tried simply downloading whats on my itunes contacts list and that didn't work either.
iTunes does not have a contacts list and only stores contacts in a back up file. You need to check if there is a back up that was made when the contacts were on the phone. If you do locate one then you would need to restore from that back up to get the contacts back on the phone.
Follow the article below to do this:

I ran out of space on my time machine because I bought a new I MAC to replace the old one. So I copied the old one on the new one and in addition to that I own a macbook. So what should I do erase the old IMAC on my Time capsule ? Shall I reset it?
Go to the airport utility and erase the TC disk.. a quick erase is fine and takes less than 1min usually.
A one pass erase takes several hours depending on how big the hard disk is.. but is somewhat safer in that it tests the drive condition. I normally don't bother for a TM backup.
When you start over you should be able to fit both backups on the TC.. assuming the disk is 2x larger at least than the space used on both the MB and the iMac.
If not you can also add a USB drive to the TC, and use that for one of the computers.
The slowest one is best.. as USB is slow.. but fast enough for wireless you won't notice much. -
I am trying to update my apps using a new user ID. I have changed it and I can't get it to change in the App Store. It keeps asking me for a password for my old ID??
YOu can't update your apps with the new apple id. All apps are tied to the apple id that was used to purchased it, you will need to enter your password from you old id to update.
