New iPhone update issue

I updated my iPhone 4 to the new 5.0.1 update and any new contacts I save don't stay on my phone. Can anyone advise what to do please

So is the iOS 8.2 update not downloading to your iPhone, computer or both?
You have synced it to iTunes, that is an option to update if it's not updating wirelessly. Please see if other steps help.

Recent iPhone update - issues connecting to server

when i connect the iPhone to the computer & tell iTunes tod download the new iPhone update, it says it cannot connect to the server? anyone else having this problem?
i'm trying to figure out if this is just an issue due to a crowded server or settings on my end that can be changed.

Looks like neither of public key and password is accepted by the server. Assuming you put the right keyfile in ~/.ssh/id_rsa and you used the right password, I think the server is rejecting your account (as opposed to your authorization tokens). Does your account exist on the server? Is allowed access in the sshd config file? Or if you're trying to log in as root, is PermitRootLogin enabled?
SSH is known for being difficult to debug client side. If you keep having trouble, could you post the server side log?
By the way, AFAIK it's not possible to do two factor authentication with SSH. If you permit authentication with passwords and keyfiles, anyone can login with either. Exclusively allowing public key logins (and guarding your private key well, protecting it with a strong password) is the strongest authentication scenario you're going to get.

The iphone will sync itunes content with one computer at a time. If you sync to another it will erase the current content from the iphone and repalce with content from the new computer.

Problems with SMS after new iPhone update

After downloading the new iPhone update my SMS messages started getting scrambled up. A few of my friends that also own iPhones are having the same problem and i was curious if there are others out there? And also if there is going to be anything done about it?

Search the forums for "Re: SMS conversations 1.1.3", this has solved that problem for a majority of the folks having it.

[iTunes 8.0.2]: I cannot download new iPhone updated applications

I am suffering something very weird since three days ago. Well, I have iTunes 8.0.2.20 with QT 7.5.5, so everything is up to date.
I can connect to iTunes Store, I can buy/download new songs and I can buy new iPhone applications at the iTunes Store. But the problem is that the iTunes says that I have 55 Applications updates (and this number grows everyday because there are new updates released), but when I press the button: "55 Updates available" at the Applications section the iTunes says me:
"We cannot complete your iTunes Store request. There is an unknown error (-50)."
And I have been trying everything: Re-install iTunes and QuickTime, flush the DNS with the WinXP 'ipconfig' command, disconnect completely the firewall, etc.
But, it continues happening, although 3 days ago didn't happened and I didn't changed anything in my PC. But suddently began to happen this issue.
Can you help me, please?

New iPhone 5 issues

My New Iphone 5 has some issues, firstly the battery indicator does not tell me how much battery i have used, i have the % set on and it stays the same, if i then power off/on the device the % updates to show how much battery has been used but then doesnt move again until i reboot again.
Second issue is that it reboots randomly? even when syncing with itues it just reboots on its own, so far it does it 7-8 times a day...
Can anyone help?

I have tried both as new and as a restore from backup.
The phone started doing the reboot as soon as i turned it on and started configuring it (before connecting to PC).
I think it might be a hardware issue.

If you restore from backup.
You should have made sure that everything was on your computer bef ore updating anyway. Did you fail to do that?
All pics taken with iphone should be imported to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera, most especially before any update/restore/etc. Did you fail to do that?

Iphone updating issues

When a new iphone software update is released i download it and then whenever i install it it always has an error occur and has to delete everything on my phone then restore it after the update is finished. Is this normal or is there something wrong with my phone/computer that is causing this?

anyway i get an error 9 code coming up everytime i go to restore it, about 30 times iv done this and when i plug my iphone into the computer i get the following message displayed - itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode you must restore the iphone before it can be used with itunes"
next i click on restore and the following appears a box with the option to restore and update i click that option and it goes into extracting software, the verifying update with apple, the preparing iphone software for restore then my iphone goes into the mode with the white bar going across the screen gets 3 quarters of the way and then freezes and comes up with error 9

Download new iPhone update - CRASH

i just downloaded most recent iPhone update (for the old 2G phone). it downloaded everything correctly and then when phone reset it came back with an error that my SIM card is not in properly and wont activate my phone. Itunes wont recognize my phone so i can't restore.

Try removing and re-inserting your SIM. To do this, insert a paperclip into the small hole on the top of the iPhone, then push the tray back in.

New Iphone updated with wrong user

just got a iphone 5 and i just went to get some apps and some thing poped up and it said new iphone and i went threw and it said to backup on my moms phone i said yes and all her contacts are on the phone and songs.
how can i get it to say that it is my phone and i get all my contacts back and songs?

So what has been your phone before you get iPhone5?
If was an iPhone, did you have created a back up before in a computer or iCloud?
If your phone has been a iPhone and you backed up somewhere, you should sync your device with.
1. To get the back up from iCloud: In your iPhone 5, open Settings>>iCloud, then sign in with your Apple ID and password. Wait for a while and Voila';
2. To get the back up from your PC: plug your device in your pc and open iTunes, then select your device and click restore.
If you never backed up your old iPhone, I advice you to back up your old iPhone by iCloud. Then you can sign in iCloud in your new iPhone and all contacts, photos, calendars, notes and so on goes to your new iPhone automatically.

I am trying to buy some new ringtones on my new iPhone 5. every time I click buy, the store asks for my apple-id passowrd, after that it asks me confirm my payment information and after I finish that and click done, it gives me a message that the session has timed out. this is happening even though it barely takes me 5 seconds to confirm the information.

They will be gone from the iphone, but you should be syning all contacts to your computer regularly and should be importing all pics to your computer regularly, particularly before any update.
Have you failed to do this?

the new update 5 isnt coming up on my itunes, when i check for updates it just says the the 4.2.1 is the latest! how do i install the update?

Remember you need itunes 10.5 first. Instead of using the update button on the summary screen, go up to Help then Check for Updates. A window should pop up checking the version of itunes first, then for the iphone. I suggest selecting Download Only for the iphone file update, then clicking Update later after the download.
