New iPhone user - Unable to sync podcasts to iphone

I've subscribed to several podcasts from itunes on my PC - however they will not sycn with my iPhone. Why is this? Do I manually have to copy and paste them in the Podcast folder for my iPhone? As this is what I have been doing, but I would like to have them sync and update automatically.

Did you subscribe to the podcasts through the iTunes store?  If so, they should automatically be downloading to the Podcasts folder of your iTunes Library (located on the left sidebar).  Once there, you can sync them to your phone by connecting your phone, when it appears in iTunes on the left sidebar click on it, click on the Podcasts tab to the right and check to Sync Podcasts.  You might find it helpful to read the help file on syncing in iTunes: Help>iTunes Help, read the section called "Sync your iPod, iPhone, or iPad".

  • Unable to sync podcast videos to iPod

    I downloaded some podcasts from the iTunes store. There are some audio pieces as well as some videos. I tried to sync them to my iPod classic, yet only the audio ones and a few videos managed to be synced. Some error message poped up, saying the format of the video is not supported by iPod, but I have no problem playing them directly on iTunes. So why cannot iPod support those videos? What should I do to sync those videos to my iPod? Thanks a lot.

    Yes, I too have been experiencing the very same error message. I have an 80GB iPod Video (which was later rebranded Classic) that when I first got it played ALL of my video podcasts. Over the past year or so, several of those podcasts now will not sync with the iPod, giving me the error message stated in the original post.
    The podcasts in question are all iPod versions, no high def, no strange formats, all found in the iTunes directory.
    I too tried to "create iPod version" through iTunes. I compared the specs for both the original and the new iTunes created video, and in most cases the new video was larger!!! Go figure. But the new videos do not always sync with the iPod, in a few cases they do, but there appears to be no rhyme or reason to it.
    I wonder if
    a) the specs for video playback have increased over time with the addition of new iPod iPad iPhone models to the lineup that content producers are creating content with baseline specs set for these later models. They simply have ignored the 'Classic' market either thru ignorance or strategic decision
    b) iTunes has also increased its baseline spec for what it defines as an 'iPod Version' of video. In the name of progress Apple no longer supports Classic-spec video when creating iPod friendly video from iTunes
    I have not tried Handbrake to convert these yet but I will try today. This is a huge PITA as I have hundreds of video podcast files through dozens of video podcasts I sync to the 80GB iPod. To have to batch convert every new set of videos downloaded will be a totally unecessary extra step to my media management. Yuk.

  • Yet another user unable to sync to Creative Cloud

    I am the administrator of a 6-member team using Creative Cloud for Teams. We have one user who is unable to sync their files. Constant "server error". I have wiped their machine clean, reinstalled OS X Mavericks and Creative Cloud apps. However, still running into the same error. It doesn't appear anyone at Adobe is responding to the posts regarding this issue. Its bad enough you can't even share folders with other members of your team as promised. But not even being able to backup your files is totally rediculous.
    I EXPECT A RESPONSE FROM SOMEONE AT ADOBE CLOUD SUPPORT TODAY.

    OK, I've narrowed it down to 3 Project Folders that are causing the entire Creative Cloud Files sync to bomb. The first project folder had a "space" at the end of the folder name. Once I removed the space, the sync worked. On the second project, I've got 90% of the job to sync. I've got 10% more to move into the Creative Cloud Files folder. If that bombs, then I'll start looking at each file to see if there is anything strange in the name that is keeping it from syncing.
    What's really frustrating is the fact that ONE file name problem causes the entire Creative Cloud Files sync to die with a server error. Why not just have the troubled file not sync without stopping the entire process. Plus, why not say "Hey, the sync bombed because of a problem with "this" file.
    This syncing process is a mess and definately NOT a safe backup solution for files.

  • Why are new directory users unable to login to iChat/jabberd?

    I have a couple of new users I've added to our directory recently. They are unable to connect to our internal jabber (iChat) server. Users that have connected previously are experiencing no difficulty.
    A quick overview of the layout of the system: two XServes, one is OD primary (aspen) the other is OD replica and iChat server (vail). I've modded some config files (long ago) to allow user IDs for jabber to be [email protected] instead of [email protected] It works quite nicely.
    Excerpt from the logs shows a failed login attempt followed by a successful login attempt. Successful logins are happening from Messages (beta), iChat under Snow Leopard, and Pidgin under windows. Failing logins are all from iChat under Snow Leopard. Please ask questions, I'm happy to add any other pertinent data!

    Tim, thank you for jumping in! I was afraid this question was going to languish.
    Snow Leopard is indeed listed twice. It is listed once as being successful as our existing users are able to login to the jabber service from there. It is also listed as being the sole operating system from which logins are failing as our new directory users are only using that platform.
    Only one machine is using Lion and that's the one using the Messages Beta and that's working just fine. I provided all of the client information, but I don't believe it's truly relevant. I'm pretty sure that the issue is on the server side. ...I just have NO idea what the problem is!

  • Unable to sync podcasts and tv shows to my iPhone and iPad.

    This happened with the update yesterday.  I have an iPhone 5 and iPad3.  Before I installed the update but after it was available, both devices showed they were over capacity with "other".  Updating iTunes and ios resolved that issue, but now, neither device is syncing correctly.  For example, iTunes shows that my iPad has the specific episodes of a tv show synced to my iPad, but the iPad itself only has the episodes that I had on the device prior to the updates.  Any idea?

  • Unable to sync podcasts to my nano

    Update iTunes with latest version. I am able to sync my music to the nano but not the podcasts. I have tried resetting and restoring the nano. Nothing works. Every time I click on the Podcasts tab everything freezes. Help! Thanks.

    They are there some older episodes of the podcasts ... but the new ones doesn't appear...
    I've also tried to uncheck the podcast at itunes, so it should clean up the older podcast. But it doesn't work.
    The old podcast episodes are still there, the new ones no.
    This happens only with the radio podcasts in the music app.
    the video podcasts are ok.

    I haven't used Firefox in a very long time, and downloaded it to my Macbook Air. I cant have any cookies or cache yet, can I, that would block me from accessing the Gmail page? FF says the page is unable to load.

    Could you try two other tests:
    * Load the page in a private browsing window, assuming you are currently in a regular window. You can do that by right-clicking the link (or long-pressing, if more applicable to Mac) and choosing Open Link in New Private Window. This will bypass any existing cached files and cookies set by Google in your normal windows.
    * Try the site in Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]]. See below.
    You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
    * "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run
    After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset).
    Any difference?

    Hi, I'm trying to use the fax to send out but it won't let me choose a modem, even after trying to select print & fax preferences, to set up modem there is nothing to choose. Can someone help me out please?

  • Unable to Sync Quicktime Movie Clips with IPOD

    I am a new ipod user having difficulty syncing Quicktime movie clips to IPOD.
    Clips are saved as .mov files and Itunes will play.
    However I cannot get them to sync woth IPOD.
    Any ideas - Do I need to convert to annother format?

    First you need to import your movies into iTunes. Do this by opening iTunes <File> <Import> <Movies> then choose the movie you want to put on your iPod. Make sure the movie has .mov at the end otherwise it won't be set up the way it's supposed to be.
    Once the movie is imported into iTunes right click on it so a pull down menu appears. Click on <Convert Selection for iPod/iPhone>. It should begin converting it on its own and when it's done you'll hear the typical sound that happens after importing a cd, telling you the operation is complete.
    After it's converted, you will have 2 identical movies in your menu. If you <Get Info> on each, you should be able to see which is newest version; that is the movie you are going to want to sync.
    Then plug your iPod in to iTunes, go to the movie tab in iPod summary and check off the converted movies you want to sync to your iPod. Press <Sync> and that should add your movies to your iPod.

  • I recently upgraded from my iPhone 3 to iPhone 4S. My old iPhone had been unable to sync for some time and I blamed it on the faulty cable. With my new cable I tried to sync the 3 before advancing to the 4S to be sure I had all my data. Will not sync.

    I recently upgraded from my iPhone 3 to iPhone 4s. My old iPhone had not completed a sync in some time because of a faulty cable. But the old phone still will not sync properly even with the new cable.
    Now that I have my new iPhone, I would like to first sync the old phone so all the data will be available for the new phone. I would also like to have an extra copy of my audio ebooks on the old iPhone so my husband and I can both listen at the same time using earphones while driving long distances in the car and then discuss the book. We have been unable to do this with the old iPhone alone due to constant road noise.

    I'm not sure what made the difference, but I tried again and it worked this time. ???????????

  • Unable to sync new iPhone 4s. I have iTunes version 10.6.1. Using Windows 7. My device appears on iTunes but I am not able to select the sync option and it does not automatically start the sync option when plugged in. Ive tried reseting the device.

    Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
    (If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.)

    iOS 6 (which runs on the iPhone 5) requires iTunes 10.7, which requires OS X 10.6.8 or higher.
    Upgrade OS X on your Mac.
