Cindy,
Windows Address Book is what Outlook Express uses for contacts. If you put everything into Outlook 2003, then you will want to change the pull-down menu from Windows Address Book to Outlook.
For more information about syncing the contacts to your iPhone, please check out these articles:

Hope this helps,

  • Nano won't update new songs from library

When I first connected nano, my itunes copied all my songs to the ipod very well. But if I add new song to my library, connect ipod nano to my computer, it says updating, done. But the song isn't in my nano. Whats going on? PC user.

Have you tried Restoring iPod to factory settings with the Latest iPod Updater?

  • Iphone 2g wont sync video songs from library

No videos are appearing in iphone-videos list, although i have them in my library.
(mp4 files, i can play them in itunes, but unable to sync to iphone)

One thing that might help out.
First, check to see if you have set itunes to sync videos to the iphone.
This can be done with the tabs across from the summary tab.
If the videos are still not syncing, right click, or control click, on the name of the iphone under devices.
Click reset warnings from the pop-up menu.
Now try to sync the videos again.
    What warning do you get.
If the warning that this video cannot be played on the iphone, right click on that video.
Now choose convert selection to ipod or iphone.
    Hope this helps.

  • Ipod will not update new songs from itunes

My ipod will not update new songs from itunes. I've purchased several songs from the music store, updated my playlists and as added some from my CD collection and they are not transfering from my library to my ipod.
I've tried numerous configurations under the preferences - ipod menue but still can't get them to transfer.
One error I occasionally get is "ipod cannot be updated because there is not enough free space to hold all of the songs in the itunes music library"
There is plenty of room on my ipod so I can't figure out why. It almost seems as if it is trying to copy all of my songs not just the new ones because all songs in my librbary are checked.

    Thank you for responding.
Doesn't it have to be on either manual or auto update? What other option is there?
I will try downloading latest updates.
I know it will work if I reset it (have done it a few times already). I just hate having to restore factory settings everytime I want to put a new song onthe ipod.

  • I recently bought a few new songs from iTunes and they transfer to my iPhone, but not into the Playlists I dragged them into

I recently bought a few new songs from iTunes and they transfer to my iPhone, but not into the Playlists I dragged them into

Do the problem songs play in iTunes on the computer?
Is Settings>iTunes and App Store signed into the account that purchased them?
Can yo redownlod them directly to the iPod by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Do they show up in the Purchased list?
Do you have any Restrictions (Settings>General>Restrictions) set that would prevent syncing/loading those songs?

  • I now have itunes for windows 8 on my laptop and I cannot transfer a new song from my library to a playlist on my iPad mini using IOS 8.1.3

I upgraded to iTunes for windows on my Windows 8.1 64 bit laptop.  I have not done any iTunes manipulations for many months.  I just purchased a new song.  I now have IOS 8.1.3 on my iPad Mini and I tried to move the new song from my library from my purchased file to a playlist.  I can no longer click and drag the song from anything to the playlist.  In addition, when I sync my iPad to my laptop none of my music from the iPad shows up in iTunes on the computer.  Why does Apple continuously mess around with the simple actions of the program.  It is very disheartening to be treated like this as a long time customer.  This has happened so many times that I am getting the feeling that they seem to enjoy screwing up the users ability to use the program

Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then  "About This Mac".  Write down what it says about "version"and report that here.  Now continue to "More Info..."  Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).
    Check system requirements:
    Snow Leopard 10.6 Technical Requirements - http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
The main issue might be having too little RAM.  Most computers run newer systems more smoothly with more RAM than Apple says is a "minimum" for running that system version
After installing 10.6.3 run the updater to 10.6.8, then upgrade iTunes.

The new system should install on top of the old one.  That said, things have been known to go wrong and it makes sense to do a backup before installing the new system.  In fact you seem to care about your files and things so you need to always have a backup because one day you will wake up and you hard drive will be dead and everrything on it gone.  Buy an external hard drive and start using Time Machine or something to back up. The other risk is when you install the new iTunes.  It doesn't happen frequently given the millions of users but there are daily posts here from people who for some reason the installation wiped out their whole library.  If you have a backup then there's nothing to worry about.
This is well within what many people can do at home.  It's a matter of inserting an optical disc and clicking you way through menus.

My old computer crashed and I can't sync new songs from my new computer to my IPod without erasing all of the existing content on the IPod.  Can new songs be added without erasing?

    Yes by:
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers
However, you can make this computer the syncing computer by:
    - Transering iTunes purchases to the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    - Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
    Copy music
    - For synced photos you need a program like TouchCopy or PhoneView. The do music too.
    - After everything is on the computer connect the iPod to the computer and make a backupo by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
    - Restore the iPod from that backup
Note that the backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media like apps, music, synced photos.

  • I just uploaded my iTunes library to the cloud using iTunes Match. When I buy a new song from iTunes, is it automatically put in the Cloud or do I have to push iTunes Match. I certainly don't want to upload the whole library again. Thanks

I just uploaded my iTunes library to the cloud using iTunes Match. When I buy a new song from iTunes, is it automatically sent to the Cloud or do I have to click on iTunes Match? I certainly don't want to start the whole upload process over again. Thanks

It should do so automatically, if not check it's staus this way.
In iTunes press "Command J" or select "View Options," under the view menu. In the popup window check iCloud Status. It will now appear as one of the columns in your main iTunes window.
This column will show which of your songs are matched, uploaded, ineligible, etc.
When you navigate to the song you downloaded you will see it's iCloud status.
If the status says, "waiting," and you want it available on Match now, then in the iTunes "Store," menubar pulldown, select "Update iTunes Match."
It will scan your drive, and update all status'.
You will not have to upload everything again.
Even if in iTunes you turn Match off, and back on again.
    Match remembers you!

  • Can't sync new songs from recently-transferred music file on ext HD

I recently moved my Music folder to an external hard drive pursuant to iTunes article 305451, but now I cannot sync my iPod with changes made to my new playlist which has new songs from a CD. I get the following message: "Some of the items," (actually, all) "in the iTunes library including..."(i.e. all the new songs) "were not copied to ... iPod because they could not be found." I created a new path per article 305451 and followed every detail of that document. What am I missing?

I found the link below and it worked. I added the songs manually.

Do you have the right boxes checked to sync the music to your iPod?

Do they play in iTunes on the computer?
Have you successfully synced music form this iTunes library/computer before?

  • Two new songs from itunes store.  1 syncs, 1 doesn't

I purchased two new songs from the ITunes store from Nellie McKay. One song syncs with both my IPod Touch and IPod Nano just fine. The other will not. 'Bodega' syncs just fine while 'Do Do Do' refuses to sync (although I can play it from ITunes on the pc). I even tried removing from my itunes library and re-adding and it refuses to sync with my either of my IPods. Please advise.

I don't know why it's doing that. Is there any message from itunes about not being able to sync it?
You could convert it to MP3 format and see if that will sync.
If it does, report it to itunes support.

  • My 3G iphone won't update from 3.1.3.

My 3G iphone won't update from 3.1.3. Was running iTunes 10.2.1 and had to turn off wireless for iTunes to recognize the phone. Have installed iTunes 10.4, but now it doesn't open right away. When it finally does, it recognizes the phone and reminds me it needs updating. I can back up/sync normally, but when I try to update the software, I get the back up status bar for 24+ hours. It never installs the software. As a result, I have not updated the phone's software.

  • My ipod mini won't update the songs anymore.

After updating the software per a prompt when I plugged in, my ipod won't transfer the songs over form itunes.
I have done a lot to try to fix this problem. What was happening is that when I connected the ipod (with the same USB that had always worked before) it suddenly decided not to add any of the new songs in my library.
    Useful info:
*I had it automatically update all songs
*The library wasn't bigger than the space on the Ipod
*The ipod would say that it was updating, and in itunes I could see it saying coping 1 of XX, 2 of XX etc. After a few minutes, it said all songs transfered and I went and sure enough, nothing on the ipod.
Things I did to try to fix the problem:
    *5 R's
    *Reinstall ipod software and itunes
    *change the drive name
*clear all songs out of library and update it so that no songs would exist and then try again (But all of the songs never cleared)
I would really appreciate anyone's help with this.
I have tried restoring, updating software, it's not the letter drive since the system recognizing it (it shows up in iturns) -- the real problem seems to be when I go to move songs over.
Now my entire ipod is empty and I can't get any songs to copy over.
    thanks, Michelle

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
First off, is everything updated? (Did you restore with the latest updater?)
    http://www.apple.com/ipod/download
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download
Also, with the iPod connected and showing in iTunes have you ever tried going to file-->update iPod?
Finally, with the iPod connected go to edit-->preferences and click the iPod tab. Be sure that automatically update is selected, otherwise iTunes may be waiting for you to do something.
