Okay I cannot seem to figure out how to get my ipod screen from going black after about 2 minutes. I also cannot get the videos to show on the full screen. Any quick help would be appreciated!

You restore the media to your new computer using the backup you made of your old computer before it died. You did backup your computer, right?

This is not true at all. The iphones wi-fi capability are exactly the same as the ipod.
The iphone can also connect via the cellular network as it is a phone. The ipod does not, but there is no difference in the wi-fi capability.

WON'T RECOGNIZE NEW IPOD - 5th Gen.

I just purchased the new 5th Gen, 30 GB - after having had TWO 3rd and 4th Gen IPODS - both malfunctioing on me and of course, not being able to replace them with an actual NEW ipod, and not a "refurbished" one.
I have been trying for DAYS to load this new ipod with my music and my PC won't even recognize it??
I have gone through trouble shooting, restarted my pc, uninstalled/reinstalled software, unplugged/replugged wires. It keeps saying something about the USB connector...??
I am SERIOUSLY frustrated and on the verge of bringing this thing back for a refund b/c i have HAD IT with apple.
PLEASE, DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT'S WRONG?

It's saying "Firewire cables are not supported. To transfer songs, connect the USB cable provided"??? But that is what I've been doing?! I have been connecting my ipod to my pc with the wire that came with the ipod.
Then I even tried using the wire that came with the previous generation ipods - which has the little square piece that goes into the ipod and then the wire splits in two, and one wire goes into (what I think is) the firewall socket in my pc, and the other wire goes into this other socket.
That is what use to work with my other ipods. WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH THIS ONE?? Do I need another USB wire??

The way I had to transfer my music from my 4th Gen. to 5th Gen. ipod touch was and still is iCloud. Look up iCloud and how you use it. You'll need to Download iCloud onto your Labtop(Log in, follow the steps ect.). Make Sure To Activate iCloud on you're 4th and 5th Gen. In both Ipod settings.(Just a note this was my personal way of doing this. There is other ways im sure, just sharing my way hope it works.

Upgrading new ipod (5th gen)?

i was bought new ipod touch 16gb. on the plastic sleeve there is a camera app. as i opened the box and see there is no camera. shop wont exchange as the box is opened (not apple shop). does anyone have a suggestion how i can go about upgrading to the 32gb model with camera?

If you turn on your iPod so will see that the camera app is actually there. Its for the front camera. You can take pictures and videos with your front camera which the 16GB model have.
The back side camera is only available on the 32GB & 64 GB models.
You can't exchange your product through Apple, try to sell your iPod so you can buy the 32GB version with the refund.

I've transferred magisto app from ipod 4 to ipod 5 but it's come up as basic account. I purchased the upgrade for £12.99 2 months ago and this does not appear on the ipod 5. I went through the motions of verifying my apple ID on ipod 5 and to purchase the upgrade again but a message came up- You have already purchased this subscription. New ipod 5th gen 30 gb won't synch library

My desktop(xp) says my ipod needs to be retored. However, I get the 1418 error message. I removed everything from the usb, printer, etc.
I called apple. No help. They say it needs to be restored and I should find a way to do this. Try a laptop.
I go to my laptop and transfer my itunes library from an ipod that was stolen. The message says my ipod needs to be updated (running itunes 7.0.2). It supposedly updates. It will not synch my library. It did synch 19 songs from a cd.

A way to turn it off is to wait for it to run out of power, that way it will have to turn off eventually. Then restart it, and restore again.

I have an older iPod (5th gen, 30GB+video) that I had connected to my computer with iTunes. That computer crashed and the only place my music is stored is on my iPod. How do I move that music to the iTunes program (version 8) on my new computer. When I connect my iPod to my new computer the music shows up in my iPod's music directory but I can't move it to the library.

I can't sync playlists from my iPod 5th gen to my iTunes library on new laptop

I have a new laptop and have managed to move all my music to it and install iTunes and all the albums are correct and present, but it was a bit complicated. I'm not sure if we missed a step in moving everything via a larger hard drive, but my playlists were not transferred and even though my iTunes recognises my iPod 5th gen it won't actually sync. I have run the diagnostic test, it says it's all fine. It won't sync new purchases and I can't copy playlists from my iPod back into the iTunes library. I have 15 playlists and I don't want to do it all over again. Does anyone have any ideas?

I did find that if I bought new songs from iTunes that I could transfer them to playlists on my iPod, but otherwise when I connect the iPod, under settings (on the left under the device icon) if I select music, it brings up the tick box for sync music. If I try to tick that box, it asks if I am sure if I want to remove existing music and sync with this iTunes library.

see what has happend is i bought my daughter a new ipod and we used the old apple id to set it up witch is my wifes email address.we also bought her itunes gift cards witch she reedemed.but the problem we are having is because its my wifes email when i send her a message its going to my daughters ipod as well.so is it possible to change the email address on my daughters ipod so she has her own account.and then transfer the balance of the gift card.
