New ipod 60 gb Video Microphone

The manuel states there is a voice recorder feature and the "ipod-compatable microphone" can be purchased at the ipodstore. I cannot find the microphone. Has anyone been able to locate this accessory?

That's the only voice recorder I know of that is out now and compatible with the 5G iPod. More should come out in the future.

  • New Ipod (with video) crashes my Windows PC

I have just bought the new Ipod and have to say I am generally very impressed. However, whenever I connect it to my PC (Dual core AMD64 with 2GB RAM) after about 10 mins of streaming music, video, or data transfer my machine either freezes or reboots itself. This is the first time a usb device has done this to my pc and I use a few. Therefore I strongly doubt that it is something wrong with my pc. Does anyone else experience something similar? Anyone found a way to stop it? Do Apple recognise these sorts of problems if they dont affect Apple macines? For example if it doesnt crash a mac, it must be the PC. If anyone can offer me some answers I would appreciate it

How many other USB devices do you heavily use? If you can copy all that to a USB HD (other than the iPod) for 20 minutes and it doesn't hang then perhaps the iPod/itunes combo has a problem. If its a bug in the firmware as you suggest, then many more people would be having the issue. Also just try copying data to the ipod as if it were a HD and see if it hangs, that mostly removes the iTunes portion of the equation.
New devices can sometimes bring to light driver and other issues that weren't there before. For example: On my iMac G5, I had just connected up a new Firewire Pioneer dvd burner and I was burning coasters left and right and locking things up. It wasn't until I noticed that having the iSight on the same bus caused the crash. Granted, it shouldn't do this period, but it showed that a combination of circumstances caused my issue.

  • SHOULD I GET THE NEW IPOD WITH ViDEO?

I was wondering if I should get a new iPod. Can you give me some help. I wanted to know the pro and cons.

I was wondering if I should get a new iPod. Can you
give me some help. I wanted to know the pro and cons.
It depends. Do you have an earlier version of iPod? If you do, and it still works well, then I would wait. The only reason I would recommend getting a new iPod is if you had an earlier iPod break; you have a low capacity mp3 player; you want to have a color screen. I recently had an unofrtunate event happen with a 6 gig mini iPod. I have done all I can to try and fix it, but to no avail. So, I ended up looking to buy another iPod. I did some research, and found that buying a new iPod was a good choice. I did think about the nano, but only one will hold the amount of songs I have. The one that does is the 8 gig black mini. However, it costs $249. I then noticed that the 30 gig video iPod also costs $249. Since I am was not worried about size, I purchased a 30 gig video iPod. I am glad I did. It is just a little bigger than my mini, but holds 5 times more music, and also videos, and has a color screen. The one thing I liked about the mini was that it had an aluminim housing. If you get a video iPod, be sure to get a good iSkin case for it to help keep it safe. After owning the 30 gig iPod for a while, I have really enjoyed it. I haven't had any issues with it at all.

  • Got a new Ipod(With video) AND NEEDS TONS OF HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I NEED HELPOk, so I just got a new Video ipod for my birthday(recently had a mini) and I downloaded about 10 videos. I was so excited but when I downloaded the videos it said
"There was an error downloading your purchased music. The disk could not be read from or written to.Use the check for Purchases command in Advanced menu to try again later"
And so I did and it said the same thing. I have been trying for 5 days now. We called the apple store and one of the "geniuses" said to check and make sure The music store is updated. And yes it was. So he said if it was then to email them at apple.com and so I came here. Then I went to support thinking it would be there and there was no way of contacting them. SO I came to you guys. I really can't bring it down until this weekend, which I was going to go on a trip and listen to it the whole week, SO I would REALLYappreciate your help, like REALLY lol thanks so much.
Help is appreciated So much, so thanks again ~Danielle
    HELP

By any chance are you trying to download from the store to a network drive? If you are, try downloading to the "C" drive, then move your purchase over.
    EDIT:
I think I may be misreading your problem & want to clarify what is going on. Is this error occurring when your trying to download the purchase to the computer or when your trying to sync the purchase to iPod. If it's happening going to the computer, then the issue could be the network drive.

Restore using the previous updater. This update has created some problems for some users with video playback.

  • Recording on the iPOD with video

I am still not sure how to record on my new iPOD with video. I would appreciate your suggestions.

According to iLounge, XtremeMac and Belkin have developed devices that allow you to run a microphone from the iPod's dock connector. From the initial information it sounds like you will be able to connect any microphone with a 3/4" plug and record using the iPod voice recording functionality. The products should be ready for sale in the next few months.
Although this is a great addition to the iPod, I still wish that Apple hadn't limited the sample rate to 44.1KHz...

  • New iPod to old iTunes library

I have succumbed to the tempation of a new iPod with video. I have an old 3G iPod and a decent music library built up, including some ITMS stuff, in iTunes.
I presume it is straightforward to sync this with my new iPod? Will iTunes recognise the new iPod as a foreign user?
    Any advice?

It won't be a "foreign user" if you're connecting it to the same Mac user account. iTunes will try to give the iPod the same default name (like "Martin Toal's iPod.") You will probably want to assign the new iPod a different name, to avoid any possible conflicts.

  • Transfer music from iPod mini to iPod with video

I'm going to be spending a few nights at my friend's house and they plan on giving me their iPod with video. I currently have the iPod mini and I was just wondering if there's a way (in Windows XP) if I can get my music and playlists from my iPod mini to my new iPod with video at my friend's house so I don't have to wait until i can go home and connect it to my PC.

    Actually Problem solved!
if anyone wants to know the steps here they are
*make sure your iPod is enabled for hard disk use*
-on your PC, export the library and any playlists to a flash drive or CD (in this case, I'm using a flash drive)
-create a new user account in Windows
    -open and setup iTunes
-connect the iPod that has the music you want
-go to FILE then IMPORT, and select all your playlist text files along with your library xml file and import
-when done, connect your NEW iPod and format it
-then sync the music and there you go! all your songs on a new iPod when you don't have access to your PC!

  • New iPod/Old Computer

I'm a newbie to all of this...I have a new iPod 80G Video that I can not sync on my old computer. I had a 4g mini that I used and recently upgraded. When I first plugged in the new 80G to my computer iTunes goes through the process of initializing and showing the new iPod under "devices," and it looks like it has all of the music synced but it does not. There is nothing on the new iPod. Is there some process I need to go through to get this to work?

This Apple knowledge-base article may help address that issue.
Windows confuses iPod with network drive.

  • New iPod TV out resolution

Do the new iPods output video at the newly supported 640x480 resolution or do they output the scaled version of the video that they display on their own screens?
Same question for the old 5G iPods with the updated firmware.
    Thanks.

    All G5 Ipods with the 2.1 patch can play both 640 X 480 and 320 X 240 resolution files.
Itunes upgraded the quality from 320 X 240 to 640 X 280 on all video avaliable on Itunes past and present.
The Ipod will only play at 320 X 240 on its screen because that is the screen used in it's design.
The ipod's video will play on your computer and TV at the new 640 X 480 resolution as long as the original file was purchased at that resolution after Sept 12.
    Hope that helps.

  • Any Issues w/ trying to sych iTunes w/ a new iPod

Unfortunately, I may need to get a new iPod 60gb (video). If I end up getting it - can I synch all my songs from iTunes to this new device without any problems? If so, how would you suggest I go about doing this? I checked the online Apple support/FAQ and it wasn't very helpful.
Thanks in advance for your help.

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? (For example, 8007000B.)
