New iPod nano? What's this?
Hi, I just purchased a new iPod nano for the wife and when we opened up the plastic jewel case, there was a piece of white plastic which looks sorta like a stand? However, it doesn't stand up when you put your ipod into it. Does anyone know what this is used for? There is nothing describing it in the little manual you get. Thanks.
Dell XPS Windows XP
THe link has the big manual for 2nd gen iPod nano.
Hope this helps. It's an Acrobat PDF file and you can keep it on the computer for reference.

Will the New Ipod Nano works with this accessorie?
Hey guys
i was wondering if the New iPod nano will work with the Belkin Tunebase for iPod nano ..

http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B000EEZ2R8.01-AIWHEFKG4HT6N.LZZZZZZZ.jpg
does anyone knows something about??
thank youIt does not work..though it isn't mentioned anywhere. I called Belkin; they recommened another of their products. I'm not sure who I am more disappointed with...Apple for not mentioning that their second generation nano isn't fully compatable with all of the first generation accessories...or Belkin, who had a difficult time figuring out their accessories aren't compatable with the second generation nano.
Either way, be very careful when you purchase anything for a second generation iPod nano. Or don't buy the second generation nano if you plan on using a lot of accessories. -
I have purchased a new iPod Nano and have tried repeatedly to set it up but iTunes will not recognise it. I have 5 other devices connected to my itunes account so is this the problem and what can I do?

AVFoundationCF.dll" I cannot acces my itunes or download a new versiona as this keeps flashing up. Any ideas? Please help, my life is meaningless without my music!!Also I now can`t access any of my itunes library and am concerned that if I remove it from my computer I will lose everything as I have no option of accessing and therefore backing anything up. I got a new iPod nano 7th gen, but when i tried downloading a video from my iTunes library a message popped up that said: Soem of the videos in your iTunes library were not copied to yor iPod because they cannot be played on this iPod. What should I do?
I kept having a similar problem - 3 out of the 10 videos I had on iTunes wouldn't sync. They were in the right format and I KNEW they worked on my iPod because I'd RECORDED them on my iPod. I finally figured out what to do! Go to the movies in your iTunes library. Click on one that does not sync. Click on "Advanced" at the top of iTunes and choose "Create iPod or iPhone version". Once that's finished, be sure you delete the old version so you don't keep getting the error (or have 2 copies of the same video) and sync. This should eliminate the problem. At least it did for me!

Bought a new iPod nano. Trying to download and install latest version of iTunes. When i try to install downloaded program, I get a message that says OS10.7 is required. I have OS10.58. What to do?
Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu.
If you have a PowerPC Mac, buy a new, secondhand, or refurbished Intel Mac.
If you have an Intel Mac, phone the online Apple Store and order a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD.

I have OS X 10.4.11 and I just got home with my new ipod nano 6th generation and I have after searching threads etc discovered I need to update my OS! How do I do this - all of the posts on this subject are a bit out of date I think? I have a mac book pro 2.2 so I know I can run Leopard, I just have no idea how to get it...? Please help!
Check your Mac against hardware specs to find out what version of OS X you can upgrade to.
Then buy DVD for that version.

Hi, I just got my new iPod Nano 4th Gen. and the screen is blank... It's not on and its plugged into my Mac OS X Mountain Lion. I don't know what to do. Help!?
If it is plugged into a USB hub (or the spare keyboard port), try connecting it to a direct USB port.
Also, try doing this Reset procedure, while it is connect to power.

I want to put all of my real old songs in my PC library onto my new IPOD Nano 7th generation. How do I do this?
Import them into an iTunes library if needed, and then sync the iPod with that library.

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I have been able to trick my ipod into letting me in but I still can't get the touchscreen to work this is extremely annoying and I was wondering if i should just get a new ipod or what?
You need a computer with iTunes and an internet connection
Try:
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

My new Ipod Nano 7 does not come up as a drive on my computer. The computer clunks to acknowledge a new device is attached but it is not shown in explorer. ITunes DOES open as it should, but it gives me a message "An IPod has been detected but it could not be identified properly. Please disconnect and reconnect the IPod and try again. If the problem persists, please uninstall ITunes and reinstall ITunes." We did all that, several times. The new IPod does work correctly on our other laptop, of the same generation, with similar security. Could this be a block specific to some security on my computer? We tried all ports on my computer. I can't troubleshoot using my previous IPod because I put it through the laundry - thus the reason for a new one.
Hi MartyP680,
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It appears that you're receiving a message that your iPod nano can't be identified properly, and you've already tried removing and reinstalling iTunes. You've also isolated this behavior to only one of your PCs.
If the issue persists, there are some additional tips in this article that may help, including verifying that the Apple Mobile Device Support service installed properly and is running:
iPod nano: Error message saying that iPod could not be identified properly - Apple Support
The "Learn More" section also mentions some other potentially conflicting software to look for on your PC.
