New ipod need help with songs from old one NEED HELP!!!!

I got a new ipod nano 3rd gen. but it wont let me take all of my old songs from my old ipod(nano 1st gen) and put them on my new one! I dont want to lose my songs so PLEASE HELP!!

When I did that on my old ipod and it said doing so will delete all the songs on it and replace it with my library. When I did it on my new ipod it just put the songs that was already in that playlist back on the ipod, not the songs that i need from the old one.

I think I had it on the iCloud, I just changed computers and had part of my old computer backed up, where are the default iTunes info saved like the pictures and I know my contacts were backed up cuz I kept getting updated stuff that I wasn't sure about, but it was contacts where some belonged to my wife's contacts....but anyway, if the cloud backed up contacts, it should have grabbed pictures too? Like I asked before, if they were backed up to the computer, is there a default iTunes folder they are saved to? I had a crap load of pictures on there that I usually could really access if I was connected to wi-fi. I turned off my data stuff as I only have 4GB and between me and my 2 kids, we seemed to use up a lot of it. My son would play music from Pandora during work, and use up all our data til I limited him to only 3GB, my daughter and I barely used 1GB. Anyway, thanks to everybody that is answering. I thought I might have done good finding the dang sim card, but pointless I guess.
Ralph - F.Y.I. I would be happy to back up the iPhone if I could turn it on LOL......I am pretty positive I did, but what about Text messages? ANY of those saved too or not? Sorry guys, I don't know a **** of a lot about cell phones, but I do know about memory cards, but not sim cards that act like memory cards or look like them anyway. What is the purpose of a sim card if I may ask a stupid question since they don't hold any data from my phone stuff. I just hope my stuff comes back on the new replacement phone once I get it up and running. Again, thanks to everybody for the edumucation.

Brand new Ipod touch G4 with sound only in one earbud

I have a brand new Ipod touch G4 with sound only in one earbud. I have tried different types of headphones, but get the same result. If I jiggle the connector pin, I can get sound on both earbuds, but only on one side when the connector pin is push all the way in.
I have an older Ipod g4 without this problem
any suggestions?

Try on your ipod going to Settings-General-Accessibility. Scroll down into Hearing and see that Mono Audio is off. Maybe that's the problem.

You cannot gift with a gift balance. You must use cc to gift

Getting a new G5 - need help with software from old G5

I am about to purchase a new G5 for my home... However I would like to have all of the exact same software and programs that are currently installed on my work computer that is being retired. With out having all of my original software disks, Is it possible to simply transfer all software from old computer to new computer? Or do I have to reinstall everything from original install disks?

You could swap the drive.
Apple does include the Migration Assistant with all of their machines. You simply hook up the two machines via a firewire cable, boot the old machine into Target Disk Mode while holding down the T key, and the Assistant does the rest.
In fact, when you turn the computer on for the first time it should ask if there is anything to transfer and then walk you through the steps.

Downloaded new songs to my ipod touch but deleted ALL the old ones. Help!

I just bought new songs, and i clicked sync to ipod, but when it was done syncing only the new songs remained on the ipod and my itunes account and the old ones got deleted. How can I get my old songs back onto my itunes account?

Add files to iTunes so they are in the library then sync iPod. When syncing iTunes the files must be in your library.

How to set up a new iPod Touch and transfer data from old IPod Touch

ok, it's Friday night, I finished the cheese and about 1/2 a bottle of wine (myself... not ideal for a smurf my size) and I still can't find the answer to my question after searching [to the best of my most current ability] all over the forums (I even searched long before I started drinking wine). I appologize right now for my ignorance and inability to find the answer on my own.... but could someone PLEASE, just tell me the best way to kill my daughter's Ipod Touch 2nd Gen (advertised as Gen 3, ha, ha, on me), and set up her new-(to-us) Ipod Touch Gen 4? I've already backed up her old device to my computer? (it's a PC - sorry, it's free from my husband's office)
Do I set up her new-ish Gen 4 as a "new device" or "restore from back up?" She's young enough (grade school - & why she gets old/cheaper HW) that we both still uses my iTunes acct for her device and mine so that I own & can monitor/manage the music that we both listen to... but this time I'll set up her own iCloud acct. Although the new device (let's call it device B) has been wiped clean from the last user, how do I set it up? New device or restore from bk up? Now that she saved up the $ I paid for it, to pay me, she's driving me crazy about getting it going for her. Her orig/current device, iPod Gen 2ish (we can refer to that as device A) has been backed up to my computer and I'd like to port all of her data (calendar, contacts, pictures/movies, etc) to her new device. I have a laptop that I was using while my main computer was in the shop for repair. In that time I got an Ipod 30 Gig. I connected it to the laptop and downloaded quite a few songs. After I got my main 'puter back, I installed all the relevent software and so on for the Ipod. I downloaded some new songs and videos to this computer, but it will not go on to my Ipod. I plug in and it asks if I want to overwrite my old library? Well heck no! I want to merge them..so to speak. Well, I let it overwrite but it didn't put any new songs or video on it. Said I was using another library at this time. !!! This is getting very aggrevating. Does anyone know how to get all my songs/video's on one computer and all of them on the Ipod as well???

The iPods will not auto sync betten mulitiple computers. You will have to set it to sync manually. Search for iPod multiple computers there are lots of posts telling you how to do this.

4 itune libraries are authorized to an old account; my ipad is linked to new account but wont play songs from old account_how to solve?

one very old 1st gen mbp (grampa( must not upgrade past itunes 8 or it doesnt recognize my ipod shuffle. it's running tiger 10.4.11
the macbook from 2009 runs snow leapoard as does the mac mini. they both recognize the new iopd nano and have itunes 10. neither recognizes the old ipod shuffle
all 3 are linked to a dead account, which doesnt even have a password. so i cant buy songs. it just has a death grip on songs i want to share . it was an aol account, which i havent used im years, but it appears in the itunes store.
the ipad 2 is running snow leopard, it is linked to my new mobile me id. when i tried to import songs purchased with the old account, the ipad was not authorized to play them...even though the songs are on hard drives and ipods. AND purchased legally by me -- just under an old account.
also --an extra mac seems to be authorized -- i'm up to my quota of 5 wit the 5th mac not authorized yet! --is there a way to determine which mac is authorized twice?

What is the solution for getting songs to deauthorize from a old account that is no longer active?
I recently used migration assistant for a new imac. I have found that some of my itunes library wont play for they want the song to be deauthorized by using and old account password and email. What is the solution to this problem?
and yes I have deauthorized the new imac.
Any help would be appreciated!!

If the songs were purchased using different accounts, you need to authorize your computer for (all) the accounts that were used to purchase them. Each purchased song has the account id embedded in the file info. Each track must authorized according to the account credentials with which it was purchased.
