New ipod - skipping songs bought from iTunes

I recently bought a new ipod 30GB. The library has sync'd to the new iPod, as has the songs pucrhased from the iTunes website. However when I play these songs (the ones purhased from iTunes), it skips through them very quickly without playing any of them?
Can anybody help me? Should I take it back to Apple?

I have a 60GB Ipod and it is doing the exact same thing.
Puchased songs just skips right thru. I went to apple store
where I purchased and they wern't much help. I was told to
go home and do a restore. Didn't help at all so I called
the applecore support and they had me do another restore.
This did not work either so they had me ship it back to them. Once they received it they claimed it was fine. Well
they must not have tried going into my purchased from itunes directory. They had the nerve to not replace it.2 weeks and 6000 miles later it still will not play the purchased songs from ipod. I want to say that originally
when i purchased the songs from itunes they played. So it's like one day it just stopped playing all purchased from itunes music. Just wanted to let you know it's not you
there is a major issue here and it started around 3 weeks ago. I beleive they know there is an issue but won't admit it. Shame as I almost was gonna convert from windows to an
apple computer not now though. Like I said they have given me the runaround here and im more than dissatified im really ****** @ this point. So for now all we cando is listen to music that we bought from CD's & added to ipod.
You would think that they would want this type of problems
fixed as they stand to lose money if I can't play purchased from itunes music Im sure not gonna buy it from them to have it start to play and then skip thru the 60 sonfs I purchased from them. Sorry to give you the bad news, but I think we are screwed.

  • IPod and iTunes library skip songs bought from iTunes

I just bought the song "Wanted" by Hunter Hayes and a few other songs from itunes. All my other songs play just fine, but Wanted won't. Everytime I go to play it in my itunes library it says: "This computer is not authorized to play 'Wanted'. Would you like to authorize it?" so I type my username and password and hit the "authorize" button, and it says: "This computer is authorized" so I go to play it again and the same thing happens all over again. Then when I go to play it on my iPod, it skips over it and won't play. Does anyone know what to do? It annoys me that a song a PAYED for won't work.

Remove the downloaded purchase and then redownload it at no cost via iCloud. This has fixed this authorization issue for a number of users.

  • Can't update ipod with songs bought from itunes store

I buy songs from itunes store and can't get them on the ipod. they are on the itunes library just fine - just can't get them over to the ipod. Get the message "some of the tunes in the library were not copied because your ipod software is too old.... - but I have the up to date software on the ipod - I get the message - "your ipod software is up to date" - - too frustrating - I buy songs but can't get them on the ipod - - any suggestions??

    Please help!!
For some reason yesterday, whilst browsing on iTunes, a computer error message came up and closed the site automatically..
After that, the computer 'froze' on me, so I had no other option than to run System Restore, which, after 2 hours, got my system up and running again, although I had JUST remembered at that point, that ALL files etc would be completely deleted.
I opened up iTunes and looked at my Library, and to my horror, I also hadn't originally thought about backing them up, as I knew they were all 'safely' on my iPod.
I have just tried this morning to 'try' to upload tracks from the iPod onto iTunes. I tried this, BUT, it has completely deleted the tracks off there as well - all 985 of them!!
Does anybody know WHETHER I will be able to recover all these tracks, short of contacting iTunes themselves?
I feel so awkward about it!! Any sensible advice would be appreciated!!

Since all of your music came from your computer in the first place, then it should still be there and should be included in your backup copy of your computer.
" it told me when i pluged hers in 2 ipods could not use the same account"
This is not true.  You have misunderstood.
You can sync as many ipods/iphones/ipads as you like to one one library.

You don't have any choice but to restore your phone.  If the phone is still working, be sure to back up your contacts first.  Since iTunes can't read your phone you can download the app My Contacts Backup, which will back up your contacts as an email attachment.  Send this email to yourself; you can later open it on your phone and tap the attachment to re-import your contacts if necessary.  When done, click on Restore (on the Summary tab) and let iTunes do its thing.  Be careful to watch the progress information at the top of iTunes as well as your iPhone screen so that you do not interrupt the restore process until it is completes.

  • Songs Bought from Itunes on my new iPad won't transfer to iTunes.

I have a major problem. I have never been one to download music for free. I dont have a problem with other people that do it, its just a moral ethical thing for me as I am an author who sells digital property and wouldn't want someone stealing my books. Anywho, All of my music is bought from my iPad on iTunes.
Today, I went to back up my new iPad onto my PC and it kept comming up as "these songs couldnt be synced" or somthing to that effect. Which I just figured at first, it was a glitch. But then As it kept going, I realised it wasn't downloading ENTIRE boughten-on-itunes Albums, including one I just purchased, and two i purchased about a week ago. My friend just kept telling me it was because it was shared music, but it wasnt! All my music is bought off itunes!
To make matters even worse, When I checked my iPad, The music I bought was GONE! It's about 30 bucks worth too. I'm aware that I can just redownload it onto my iPad because it comes up as purchased under my account. But I really don't wanna have to do that every single time I sync my new iPad. Is there any way to fix this? or does anyone know whats going on? Does this happen to you? I don't honestly know what it could be.
    Thanks!

If your iPad is set up to sync normally with your iTunes library any purchases you make on the devce should automatically transfer to your iTunes library at the next sync. Alternatively you can set up both computer and device to automatically download any purchases made on other, even if you don't get around to syncing them for ages.
If for some reason the iPad doesn't really treat your iTunes library as its "home" library, and threatens to erase content when you bring the two together, then see Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

Have you actually played it in iTunes?
Select it and then click File>Get Info>Summary and copy the results here.

  • IPod will not play songs bought from iTunes more than once

None of the songs I have purchased from the iTunes Store play on my iPod. They play on my Mac, my wife's Mac and my wife's iShuffle, but not my iPod. My iPod is running the lastest software version, and i have the latest iTunes version.
If I format, reset, restore and reload my music, HOORAH!! they play...ONCE. Then I have to do that all over again if I want to play them again. The songs say they are there, they say they are taking up hdd space, but if I try to play the iPod just thinks about it for a second or two and then skips over the song.
I have never had any problem with songs ripped off my CD collection.
Apple are completely useless and offer no assistance and what i have been able to find on their website tells me to do what I've done. Does anyone have any ideas how to make my iPod compatible with the iTunes store?

This just happened to me on one song I purchased from iTunes (it plays fine on iTunes on my MacBook). I'm on iTunes 8.0 (haven't yet upgraded to newest version). Everything else works fine so should I do this for only one song - or is there another easier fix? I did copy the song to a cd so would it work if I just deleted the one song and imported it? Or is this a sign of a deeper problem?

  • Left new iPod to charge --- disappeared from iTunes.

I have a brand new iPod 160gb that I just bought.
When I first plugged it in, I went through all the set up areas..In iTunes, I clicked where it says get updates.. I then got an error messge with that, which told me to eject my ipod and plug it in again. (The update went through fine when I plugged it back in.)
I did that and I SAW it come back on iTunes. Since it was brand new, I wanted to let it power up the battery for four hours. I left it running and was planning to add all my music before unplugging it..
BUT when I came back after 4 hours, it disappeared from being listed on my iTunes. I had an old ipod and it NEVER did this.
I had to go in an manually eject this new ipod (in My Computer).
Is there a reason why it did this? Should I restore the ipod just in case (to be on the safe side)? Still have not added any music.

  • My Iphone won't sync my CD audio files, after having them on my Iphone for years I updated the other day and they all dissapeared, all that's left is songs bought from Itunes.

I've had an Iphone 4 and I have been listening to hundreds of songs no problem for the past year and a half I've owned it. The other day I decided to sync my Iphone to my laptop to get two songs from a CD. After doing this process and approaching it like I usually would (without causing any problems) I checked my Iphone to see if the two songs had downloaded after the sync. I discovered that my Iphone had lost every audio file that was not bought from the Itunes store leaving me with a sliver of songs to listen to. I immediatly checked my laptop (a Windows device) to see if my music was still there, thankfully it's all on my laptop and the songs play without a problem. So I attempted to sync the songs to my iphone several times, but the CD songs would simply not sync (When syncing your Iphone it consists of 5 steps, the progress bar skips steps 3-4, those are the steps when your music syncs). I'm not an idiot, I checked the small details (checking all albums and songs I wanted and checking the 'entire music library' option) as well I checked the big details (making sure my phone and Itunes were up to date, changing the USB to Iphone wire with another just like it). After a couple of hours of tinkering with different ways to sync I was stumped so I decided to restore my Iphone to factory settings. After doing that and setting up my Iphone newly I still could not download those CD files from Itunes to my Iphone. I called apple support and they recommended that I uninstall Itunes and re-install it. Again no success, all my music is still on my laptop working fine, but I can't seem to sync my CD songs from itunes to my Iphone. If anybody has any info please help. -A college student who needs something to listen to everyday on the hour long bus

Amazing steps you've done so far! The great news is this is very unlikely an issue with your iPhone.
I've run into a similar issue lately as well. I narrowed it down to one song that was causing 30 songs not to sync. I removed the song from the sync list (unchecked it) and all 29 songs were able to sync.
You may be running into a similar issue. This may be a problem with this version of iTunes, an issue with one song or a group of songs; hard to know for sure. It's important to narrow down and isolate the cause. Most imporantly get that music back on there!
The way to narrow down the casue add just a few songs at a time (even 1, just to get that first sync finished). Manually syncing is what you'll need here.
Plug in your iPhone, on the Summary screen (shows a picture of your iPhone, the iOS version, Restore iPhone....; etc). Under the Options area at the bottom choose to Manually Manage Videos and Music then choose Apply in the lower right. The music that's on your iPhone now should be removed from your iPhone now. You're now able to sync music manually.
The link below explains how to drag the songs from the iTunes library on the computer on to your iPhone which will start the sync. Add just one song just to see if you can get 1 of those hundreds of songs on there. If you can, awesome! Keep adding until you find the song or group of songs that are causing this issue.

  • I tried to sync some new songs bought from iTunes into my ipod using my laptop, (for the first time).  It would not add the new songs to the ipod.  I tried several times, with same result.  I never had this problem using my desk top computer.

I also am having a problem with the songs I purchased using the laptop not showing on the desk top itunes, even though it is authorized to do so.  The new songs did show up on the iPad iTunes, however.  Have no idea why.  I thought this happened automatically.

  • Skipping Songs Bought From I-Tunes

So I am having a problem with 4 songs from The Tragically Hip's Live At Austin City Limits Album. And I know of 3 other people and 4 different I-Pods from regular to Nano that will not play these 4 songs. It just skips right over them. The first 3 songs:Courage, Lonely End of The Rink, and Gus The Polar Bear all work fine. Then the next 4 Bobcaygeon, Poets, At The Hundreth Meridian, and Blow at High Dough will skip right through and not play a thing. All the songs play on our I-Tunes, but only the 3 work on our I-Pods. And we purchased the album through I-Tunes.
    Why wont they work?
(And I have tried all the 5 R's and well I am still here asking the question so they obviously didnt work)

    Hi danrather108,
I know this may sound basic, but have you tried the suggestions from this Knowledge Base article?:

  • Combining tracks on songs bought from iTunes

How do I combine tracks once the music is in iTunes? I lsiten to mainly classical music and although iTunes breaks each piece up into individual tracks, i want to keep each piece as a whole - makes the library easier to access

You cannot combine music in iTunes, other than at import from an Audio CD.
If you bought music at the iTMS, your only workaround is to burn it on an Audio CD (not data or mp3) and re-import them.
Choose 'Join CD Tracks' from the Avanced menu in the menubar.
