New ipod suffle 4th gen will not sync with cd import

my new ipod suffle 4th gen will not sync with cd import, through itunes, other computer has no itunes

I'm not sure how the "other computer" is relevant, but on the computer with iTunes, you probably need to update the iPod's settings for automatic syncing, or load the new songs from CD manually.
In iTunes, if the sidebar (along left side of window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.  The shuffle appears in the sidebar, under DEVICES, when connected.  Select it there.  The shuffle's Summary screen is shown to the right.  There is a checkbox for Manually manage music there.  Is that setting currently checked or not checked?
If it is checked, your iPod is set to add and remove songs manually.  It does not use automatic syncing to update content.  This is how to manually add and remove songs from an iPod.
To add songs manually...  Show a song list in iTunes.  For example, select Music under LIBRARY in the sidebar, to show your main music library list.  Drag a song from the song list to the iPod in the sidebar.  You can do this with more than one song selected, such as the songs from that "CD import."  Alternately, right-click on the selection and choose the command Add to Playlist -> [name of your iPod].
To remove songs manually...  Click on the small triangle to the left of the iPod's name (in the sidebar) to drop down its content list, indented below the iPod.  Click on Music there.  The list of songs on the iPod is shown to the right.  Select the song you want to remove and press Delete on the keyboard.  You can do this with more than one song selected.
NOTE:  If Manually manage music is currently not checked, your iPod is set to use automatic syncing.  Please post back for info on setting up or updating the iPod's automatic sync settings.  When automatic syncing is enabled, you make iTunes responsible for keeping your iPod "in sync" with your iTunes library.

  • My brand new iPod Touch 4th generation will not sync with iTunes on my Windows Vista computer!  Please help!

I have tried every trick in the book and read every thread on why my version of Windows Vista will not allow me to get at the iTunes Store.  I cannot even get this new iPod Touch to sync with iTunes.
I've rebooted, soft restart, hard restart, removed iTunes and re-installed iTunes.  Nada...nothing!
Does anyone else have the same issue and can they offer me a solution?

  • Ipod Touch 4th Gen will not sync with Itunes 11.1

I upgraded my Itunes to the latest version, now I can't get Ipod touches to sync that are 4th gen. Any help?

I FINALLY got it to sync. I had to unplug and restart my computer 3x's then it worked and went like a charm. It was getting to step 2 of 5 in the sync then just freezing. I let it run for 15+ hours the first day.
I do have to ask though since I have a knowledgable person:
My son's Ipod touch broke so I bought a refurbished one. How can I change the ID on Itunes or his touch to reflect his Ipod?

  • IPod Touch (4th gen) will not sync music after the latest iTunes update

I'm using iTunes on a PC with Windows 7 and after the latest update (iTunes 11.2.2), it will not sync with my iPod touch 4 (also updated to the latest possible version - iOS 6.1.6).
Before the update there was no problem with the sync. And this iPod has always been synced only with this computer, and this iTunes library.
After the iTunes update, several songs on my iPod were greyed out and unplayable (the library plays fine in iTunes).
Now, when I try to sync, iTunes goes through all the steps, saying it finished syncing, without any error message but there is no actual change on the iPod.
I've tried deleting all the music on the iPod, to resync the entire music library anew.
Again, iTunes went through all the steps, finished "syncing" and nothing - and, of course, all the music on my iPod is now missing.
When I check the "On this iPod" option in iTunes, the entire song list shows up there but appears greyed out and unplayable.
On the actual iPod device, there is absolutely nothing in the Music app - no songs, no playlists.
The iPod always shows "no data" in the Music app.
Sometimes iTunes shows that I have 18GB of music on the device, sometimes it shows 0GB ...at one point it showed "no space available". But it has plenty of space - 23.5 GB of available space out of 32GB.
To fix this I've tried the following:
    - automatic sync, manual sync, manually adding/deleting songs on the iPod, autofilling and replacing songs;
    - resetting my iPod by holding the (on/off and home buttons) and resetting through the "reset all settings" option on my iPod;
    - reset and restore from backup;
    - uninstalled and re-installed iTunes on my PC.
    - I've run the diagnostics tool in iTunes - all tests passed;
...plus various other suggested solutions I have found in the similar topics around here.
(I've checked and there are no restrictions to the songs, the computer is authorized, etc.)
Absolutely nothing works and it is very frustrating, as I usually only use the iPod for the music.
    Please help.

  • IPod touch 4th gen will not sync newly added music, why?

I uploaded all my CDs to iTunes and it will not sync to my iPod. What am I doing wrong or how can I fix this?

What happens when you try to sync?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

Do you have any Restrictions (Settings>General>Restrictions) set that would prevent syncing those songs? (iTunes purchases only)

  • IPod touch 4th generation will not sync with iTunes, but shows up in Windows 7 64bit(Acer Aspire laptop)

Hello all, I am writing this message in the hope that somebody can help me to solve my issue with my iPod touch fourth generation. It has been unable to sync with iTunes, but shows up in windows as the iPod touch. I also had this problem with my older iPods as well (Ipod nano 4th Gen, iPod touch 2nd gen(Batteries done for that one)) I can sync music with iCloud, but I have a bunch of songs that are not in the store, and I sincerely want to add those, alot.
I've checked the "iPod appears in Windows but not in iTunes" with the link here: (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1363), and followed that process, but to no avail, it does not solve the problem. I've tried to reset the entire ipod by making it enter DFU mode and then rebooting the entire iPod (shows up in iTunes in temporary mode) but once restored, does not appear in iTunes, but still in Windows detected still as a iPod, looks like the iPod and everything. I also have the most uup-to-date iTunes installed (10.5 I believe, just got it today)
This is extremely frustrating because that is why I purchased the iPod (and for the games and apps, those are great too). The iPod was also purchased three days ago, and the setup still didn't detect it.  I am not mad at anybody here or the Apple company itself, but I have not found any help online with the browsing option (for support of course).
Please, I would absolutely love the help, i'd be eternally grateful for it.
    -Tyler

Never mind, turns out that by uninstalling the programs "Megakey" and "Megaupload" it had resolved this issue.

  • My ipod touch 4th gen will not sync apps to ipod from itunes

I've restored the ipod several times; reinstalled itunes a few times and restarted my computer a number of times.  Ipod will sync the first time after restore and not again.  I'm tired of restore the ipod every time I want to sync it to itunes.  Is there a better solution???

I'm having the same problem with my girl's ipod 4th generation's. I have restored them 4 times now. It works fine after the restore but the very next time it will no longer sync and I have to do the restore again. It's becoming very frustrating.

  • My iPod classic 7th Gen  will not sync with my new computer. itunes is installed and updated.

    fellow iPod classic owners,
the problem is a failure to sync with the new computer. the conditions are as follows: the new computer is a pc. it has the latest iTunes software installed. the iPod is installed properly. i'm fully recognized by my iTunes account. there is nothing lacking other than my iPod's refusal to sync with my new computer. what have i left undone? i could be suffering from a duh, but i'm not the only one. nothing in the apple world is as difficult as this one is, at least on the surface. if it were that simple an issue, no one would be having any problems with it. any more information needed can be provided by request. by the way, the computer being used has been authorized. that is a non-issue.
                                                                                                                 your help is appreciated,
                                                                                                                     hardphil.

I believe the IPOD (Classic) uses USB 2.0,  and my new laptop uses USB 3.0.  I think they are not compatable because of this.  If you find a solution to this please let me know.
    Thanks,

  • IPod touch 4th gen, will not sync music or movies but plays everything else. This has been since 2 updates ago. We have reset, restored and done everything told but no good has come of it. The identical 1 we have has no issues. It is now on 6.1.5.

This 16gb model number is ME179BT/A if that makes any difference. It still plays apps and games with ease but will not download media from either the computer or iTunes store. We have restored and reset the thing but it will not work.
This has been playing up since October. It started with it refusing to switch on/off or do anything so I rebooted it then restored it but it didn't download any media. We have tried several times since to fix the issue but it just won't work.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know as the uncertainty of this device is killing me. What has happened to Apple??? We have all had Apple devices for over a decade but suddenly the whole thing has gone mad, constant updates and need to buy newer devices...... I think Samsung may be the better option the way rhis is going? We were always happy to pay the premium for the assurance of quality but that is no longer the case!
Please let me know if there is anything to be done with this so called media player??
    Thank-you.

  • My Ipod touch (4th gen) will not sync, My Ipod touch (4th gen) will not sync

I was trying to add more music to my ipod. That's when it would not sync to itunes on my computer. I have tried uninstalling Itunes and refreshing my ipod, none of that worked. Can anyone help me?

Placing your device into recovery mode
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Note: If you see the screen pictured below, let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then start with step 2 again.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
I just clicked on the Recevery Mode link in my previous reply and cut and pasted the above.

  • Any apps restored to new iPod due to service will not sync with iTunes.

I had to have a retail location replace my iPod and they restored my music and apps from the old one to the new one. Since then, when I plug my device into my computer the 'Apps' tab in iTunes will not allow me to manipulate the screens of my iPod. The image remains dim and I cannot switch to different screens or touch the apps. Any apps purchased since the restore are syncing with iTunes without a problem. There is the option to sync iTunes to my iPod but that will cause me to lose the apps not synced into iTunes. I hope this is specific enough! I don't want to lose my apps, please help!

Never mind, turns out that by uninstalling the programs "Megakey" and "Megaupload" it had resolved this issue.

  • Brand new iPod touch 4th gen will not sit on dock of Sony Dream Machine

    model ICF -C1iPMK2
I even wasted money on the three pack of inserts to ensure my touch was resting properly
I have no idea why it won't rest down on the dock - it is like it's two different sizes of 30 pin connectors? is anyone else having this problem? I don't want to be too forceful with it for fear of breaking something irreplaceable

Im having the same problems with the latest ipod touch not sitting into a bose portable sounddock.
Sure, the portable sounddock has an aux port in the back which I can use once I find an audio cable with male ends on both sides.
After reading this thread, I took an x-acto knife and tried to remove/thin the piece of silver plastic at the back of the ipod touch. didnt help much until I took the same knife and tried to thin the grey plastic innard of the sounddock connector. That worked.
so basically, i removed a thin bit of grey plastic from the inside of the male connector on the sounddock.
    was worth a try.
I've also emailed Bose support. They're generally very helpful with these things and the last time when I upgraded from an ipod mini to ipod touch, I called them and they sent me (for free) a set of new dock inserts for the ipod touch.

  • My iPod Touch 4th gen will not sync

When I try to sync my iPod, iTunes recognises it is connected and goes through all the sync stages 'successfully' with no error messages, but no music ends up being synced onto the device. I have tried restoring the iPod, and syncing automatically and manually without success, and I'm pretty sure my iTunes and iPod software are all up to date. Please help!

Uncheck the SYNC MUSIC box and click the SYNC button on the lower right window to allow itunes to remove all music from your iPod.  Then recheck the SYNC MUSIC box and SYNC button to transfer all music back to the iPod.
