New Ipod to replace Old Ipod

I just recently purchased a 64G Ipod to replace my 32G Ipod...how do I sync my new Ipod to my computer to download all the music, audiobooks, etc. that I have on my old Ipod and my computer?

Hi Linda: All your music, audiobooks, etc should already be on your computer. Yes? All you need ot do is plug in the new iPod, give it a distinctive name and sync as you did with your existing 32gB iPod. You can use multiple iPods on a single account/computer.
Hope this helps

  • New WSUS-SUP replacing old WSUS-SUP

I have SCCM 2012 R2 and I am needing to replace our old Windows 2008 R2 (master) WSUS server with a new Windows 2012 R2 (master) server. I have 9 other downstream SUP's that are replica's of the master.
I am needing some help locating the steps needed to remove the master WSUS/SUP and replace it with a newer version.
The only part I am truly stuck on is how to remove only the master SUP server and then replace it and have the new server become the master.
I am afraid that the only way to do it is to remove ALL of the SUP's and place the back in the order i want them (master first then the remaining in any order).
Am I going to have to tear it all out and reproduce the setup for the new server?

Yes. Having that many SUPs is problematic at best because you cannot control which one a client will use -- clients do *not* choose them based upon boundaries or location.

there are two ways to restore your data from a TM backup.
the first is the one I described. you don't need to do anything, just follow the instructions during the setup assistant when you first turn the computer on. it will ask you if you want to import your data from a TM backup. say yes and follow the instructions. this method only restores your user data and applications but does not touch any system files.
the second method is different and it was suggested by the other posters. it wipes the hard drive and restores the entire computer including system files and everything to the exact state it was in at the backup time. this should only be used when restoring on the same computer or on the same EXACT hardware model. the fact that your new computer is also a macbook is not enough. the processor and the graphics card may have been upgraded since you bought your old computer. this happens all the time. if they did then the old install will lack necessary drivers for the new hardware and it will not work if you restore the entire system from the old computer to the new one.
Bottom line is, unless you are absolutely sure that your new computer has exact same specs and exact same hardware as the old one, use method one outlined above.

  • Imessage on Macbook - New number wont replace old contact number.

I have a Macbook Pro which has my imessage set up on it. I recently got a new mobile number, and on my computer imessage it still has my old number on it ( to send and receive), how can I change my 'caller ID' number to my new phone number on my macbook? My phone has already adjusted to the change.
I have tried signing out of imessage, restarting my computer etc.

Associate your mobile number with your Apple ID, if you haven't already done so.
Sign out of iMessage on the Mac:
Messages ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts ▹ Sign out
    and on the iPhone:
Settings ▹ Messages ▹ Send & Receive ▹ Apple ID ▹ Sign out
    Then, on the phone, tap
Use Your Apple ID for iMessage
Sign back into iMessage on both devices and test. If there's no change, you may have to wait for a change in network conditions.

  • Firefox crashed. tried to delete old to install new. won't delete. tried to replace old with new, but tells me i need to close it first but it's not open

Fire fox crashed. I deleted it and installed new version, it worked fine. Got an email with possible virus, so system restored to an earlier date. When I did this, it brought back the old firefox. I tried to delete it, but it won't delete. When I tried to download new version to replace old version, it says I have to close firefox first, but it's not open. What do I do now?

    Hi jposes
Before installing the new firefox go to Windows Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Supr), go to the Processes tab and search for any "firefox.exe" (or firefox.exe*32), give a right click and select "End Process Tree". This should be enough to let you install the new FireFox.
Take care and hope this had been useful to you.

  • Got new iphone to replace broken one-cannot access apps and songs

i tried to syn new phone to replace old phone, but my apps are not syncing/running and my songs are not playing

Make sure you phone is signed into the same Apple ID in Settings>Store>Apple ID that the iTunes store is signed into in iTunes on your computer.  If it isn't, tap the ID shown, sign out, then sign back in with the correct ID.

  • Apple sent me a new iPod touch to replace the one that stopped working. The new one has the same problem as the old one. Should I send it back?

I bought an iPod touch 4th genertion in August 2013. About 3 weeks ago, iTunes told me an update was available for my iPod so I clicked update. It then said it had detected an iPod in recovery mode and I had to restore my iPod. I tried to restore it when another pop up appeared saying an unkown error occured and it was unable to restore my iPod. I talked to someone on the online help page and they said I needed to talk to someone on the phone because it was too complicated to explain. The first person I spoke to on the phone could not identify my problem so she got her supervisor who said I needed to send it in for repair. I sent it in and yesterday I received a brand new iPod in the mail with a letter saying they could not fix my old iPod and this was a replacement. I plugged the new iPod into my computer to restore it and everything was fine. It said my software was not up to date so I clicked update and the exact same thing happened with the new ipod. It told me to restore my iPod and then said it was unable to be restored. They replacement arrived yesterday. Should I send it back?

What is the exact wording of the error message? It may be that there is a problem with your computer and is causing the problem, not a problem with the iPod.

  • I bought a new ipod touch to replace my old one that did not have icloud.  How do I erase my old ipod?

I just purchased a new ipod touch to replace my old ipod touch.  The reason I bought a new one is I wanted one that had the icloud that I could sync to my ipad and iphone.  I am going to give my old one to my husband.  I plugged my new ipod touch into my computer and put my musice library on it.  I then tried to clear my old ipod touch.  I went to General Settings and told it that I wanted to clear the ipod touch.  It went thru a few things and then it said to plug it into itunes.  I do not understand why?  On my itunes it does not list two ipod touch's on there as devices, so I am scared it I plug the new one into itunes it will clear both.  Please help!

    Yeah, what planb77 said.
Just connect your iPod to your computer, let iTunes come up, and then select Restore to Factory Settings.  This will clear off every thing and install the current version of iOS for that generation.  You can name the device and then set up iTunes to synch the items you choose.
If you have more than one computer, let hubby set up his own iTunes account and Apple ID so you don't get your stuff mixed up.

  • Tech challenged; have new iPod to replace old iPod....loading issues

    Hi all,
I just received a new iPod classic, 160GB, to replace my old wheel-type iPod, which froze up last year. I still have my iTunes library and software from the previous iPod, and wish to transfer that library to my new iPod. When I hook up the new iPod to my PC, it does not go to any sort of set-up process....just sits there saying 'connected'. Battery is charged.
Do I need to download newer version iTunes software? If I do, will this hurt my existing Library?
    Thanks for any help.

You need iTunes version 7.4 or later (the current version is 7.7). You can download that here.
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
The music in your current iTunes library will remain unaffected.

  • Just got new ipod to replace old one. Can I transfer songs?

I just replaced my broken ipod mini with a new one. I want to transfer my old songs if I can, but I don't know how. When I plug my ipod into my PC it continually says DO NOT DISCONNECT. Also, it told me to restore my ipod, but that it would erase everything I had on there. Itunes still has my old songs, but I can't figure out if or how to transfer them. I click restore but I am still not able to get my songs or buy new ones. Do I need to go through the whole process like I did when I got my first ipod? And is there a way to transfer all my old songs onto my new ipod?

If you have all your songs on iTunes, then you need to setup the new iPod and then sync it to iTunes.
First, make sure that the iPod is fully charged.
iPods come pre-formatted for Mac, so you will need to format it for Windows.
Make sure that you have the latest iPod Updater software
You also need to install the Updater software by double-clicking on the file that downloads.
After you install the Updater to your PC, reboot your computer.
    After rebooting, run the Updater.
Go to: Start ==> Programs ==> iPod.
It should initialize then ask you to connect an iPod.
Connect the iPod when asked (not before) and you should have two options available: Update or Restore.
-- Choose the Restore option and it will update your iPod's firmware to the latest version
    b and
    format your iPod's hard drive.
Disconnect the iPod from the PC when permitted. Reconnect it and iTunes should open and register the iPod. Then sync it as normal.

  • Replace an old ipod on itunes with a new ipod

I want to buy a new ipod. But I already have hooked up 5 different ipods to my computer which I thought was the limit. Is there a way for me to replace my old ipod with a new one?

The 5 limit you are referring to is a limit of 5 authorized computers to play purchases. You can use as many iPods as you want.

  • Is there any shop in texas ,austin where we can replace an old ipod touch 3G and get a new ipod touch 4G ??

Is there any shop in texas ,austin where we can replace an old ipod touch 3G and get a new ipod touch 4G ??
    pls help mee

Sorry but I am pretty sure there isn't a shop which offers such a service.
Apple stores offer a 14 day remorse period where you can return a purchase for a full refund without having to give a reason however this has probably expired - unless you bought from a different store with a similar system which you still happen to be within the time limit for.
Your best bet would be to sell your iPod 3G and put the money towards a new one. If you are having trouble selling it an Apple store will take it and give you 10% off a new iPod.

  • When attempting to purchase a song from i-tunes that was on an old ipod that I had to replace, the song is marked as 'purchased' and grayed out.  Is there a way that I can download these previously purchased items onto my new ipod?

    Lori,
If you upgrade to iTunes 10.3, you can redownload your past purchases from the iCloud.  Just go to the home page of the iTunes Store and click on "Purchased" under "Quick Links."  It will bring up a list of your past purchases that are not currently in your library, with a little arrow icon that lets you download.
