New ipod touch 5 not turning on

Hello! recently, i have bought a brand new ipod touch 5th generation. i used it for two days and it was working quite well and the next day, my sister took it to her school but it was taken away by the principal since her school is very strict and does not allow devices such as phones and ipods to be brought during a school day. its been a month since it was in school and i got it back today, it was turned off of course because the battery had died, i plugged it in and left it there and the next day i came and found it STILL charging? i pressed the home button and it just showed me that battery logo with a little red in it in the middle of the screen. is this normal or does this mean its not working? please help.

Even being off for a month it should not take a couple days to start to charge...I would take it to an Apple store genius bar for testing.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • New Ipod Touch not being recognised by itunes

    Hi, can someone please help!
I purchased a new iPod touch (the one with the camera )the other day and yet so far iTunes nor my computer has recognized it.
    I have tried many things:
    Updating itunes
    Uninstalling and reinstalling itunes
Unblocking itunes related software in my firewall
    Trying different USB ports
Turning ipod off and on in different ways
    Restarting computer
    Using different usb cords
Nothing has worked so far! My computer meets the requirements i think. Its a windows professional with a service pack 3 and it has usb 2.0 ports. I have a working itunes account and store and i have itunes version 10.1. My ipod has full charge also
My computer makes the noise when something is plugged in, yet my ipod is not appearing under devices on itunes. My old nano is being picked up fine yet my new ipod touch isnt!
I dont know whether i should return to the store i purchased it at or if it is a computer malfunction thats the probelm.
Please please help! I've reached a dead end!

    Try it on another computer.

  • New iPod Touch not working with G3 iMac

I got a new iPod Touch (4 gig) for Christmas. Tried plugging it into my iMac Power PC G3, and I get an error message. ( error OxE000001). Is my iMac too old to work with the iPod touch?
Also as a second issue, I have a wireless network, but I don't have it broadcasting it's name for security. When I turn on my lap top, if it doesn't automatically find the wifi network, I just type in the network name, and it pops up.
Any way to do this with the iPod Touch? (Type in the network name, even though it's not broadcast)
I'll also list this question on the WIFI section.

    Ken;
I AM running with iTunes 9.0.2. in my slot loading G3 iMac. There is no special Hack.
You tried to help me earlier, when my G3 just would not work after I upgraded Safari and iTunes. I ended going to the Genius bar, where they worked on it for hours to get it going again. They installed earlier versions of both programs.
I was going to keep it that way, until I was given an iTouch for Christmas. The iMac just did not see it. I was resigned to updating my iTouch through my son's iBook.
In a question I had about upgrading my wireless network, John Galt said his 500mhz G3 worked OK with the iTouch. Over two weeks I slowly installed what he had, (or close to it) I think Safari has a G3 version, that I may have missed when you were helping me.
The last thing I upgraded was iTunes 9.0.2. After three or four tries, and plugging in the iTouch USB cable directly into the iMac, the iTouch was recognized! It seems to work fine over the past week or so.
Some odd things I have to live with. When I plug in the iTouch, iPhoto will start and ask about downloading pictures from the iTouch. I have to manually start iTunes if it is not already on. It does not automatically start like it does with my iPod nano.
Also I did not realize how slow this machine is, I thought down loading a CD through a La Cie DVD/CD player at 1.3x speed was fast. My son's iBook downloads a CD a 9 x speed! Oh well... slow but steady.....

  • IPod Touch Not Turning on and IS NOT Detected by iTunes!!!!

Hello, recently I bought the new iPod Touch 4g! It was all fine and working for about 12 days, but then it started getting really hot and the battery lasted less than an hour while listening to music. I took my iPod Touch in, and a genius told me it was a software problem and I had to do a clean restore (as a new iPod.) Since the clean restore, my iPod has been working fine... until this morning. I had it syncing with my Mac overnight, but when I came to turn it on... I got a black screen... nothing. I unplugged the iPod and tried to turn it on again, but I got no response! I tried plugging the iPod into my wall charger, but nothing happened! I finally gave up and plugged the iPod back into my Mac, but iTunes didn't do anything! HELP!!!!!

Since it does not charge anymore, there's no way that iTunes will recognize your device when the battery is empty. You're still under warranty, make an appointment at your next Apple Store and bring it in again.

  • Just got a new iPod touch..turned it on and it says to plug it into iTunes...it didn't ask for my user password to connect into my network

Just got a new iPod touch...turned it on and it automatically told us to plug it into iTunes...it never asked me for my password to connect to my network...Help!!

    This one is really simple.
Just make sure that the "only sync checked songs" box is checked under the music tab. Then select the songs that you want synced. Once you then click "sync", it will remove any of the songs that were automatically put there and add or leave only the ones that you put check boxes next to.
    Have fun!

  • Ipod touch not turning on anymore.

    Hello everyone,
I have a problem with my Ipod touch 8GB.I have it for  7/8 years now, and it was working fantastic till yesterday morning...
I left it in my bag all day, and when I came back home, the Ipod was messing up, the tactile screen wasn't working, I was trying to press with my fingers and I couldn't use it. The lighting of the screen was going a bit wrong, so I did nothing a part from assuming it was probably the fact that the battery was low, so I put it on charge on my laptop hoping my Ipod would recover.
This morning, I tried to use it and it won't even turn ON! So I tried to connect it with the white cable to Itunes hoping this would turn the Ipod ON.
Nothing... not even itunes detects the Ipod. I really don't understand what happened to it seriously, it was working fantastic yesterday and suddenly out of nowhere it stops working for no reasons (how can the Ipod gets damaged in a bag seriously?)
Any advice to give me ? I really cherish my Ipod, I have all the music on it, and I can't afford to get a new Ipod
    Thank you !
    Alexia

  • Brand New ipod Touch wont turn on and isnt recognized by windows or macbook

I just got my ipod touch and macbook today. When i press the button on top of the ipod, it wont do anything. Also, when i plug the ipod into my macbook and my other PC, they both dont recognize it. Nothing has come up on the ipod's screen. Should i take it to the apple store in my area? Thank you all!

    Hi--
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Sorry to hear about your iPod. If you're close to an Apple store, then I'd definitely take it in and have them look at it, especially if it won't turn on when it's plugged into the MacBook or the PC. Even if the battery was drained out (unlikely on a brand new iPod), it should start up when it's getting power from the USB bus.
It's probably best to check out this list of Apple Stores:
    http://www.apple.com/retail/storelist/
Pick the one closest to you, then make a reservation at the Genius Bar. It's been a while since I had to do that, but I think I had to wait until after midnight, or maybe until around 6 AM the day I wanted to go in.

  • Ipod touch not turning on or connecting to computer

Recently tried to update my Ipod Touch 2g, and during the update process, it went to restart, but my itunes got an error and had to close the process on the computer, and my ipod ended in a black screen. Now it will not turn on or connect to my computer.
What can i do to fix this?

My ipod died last night and I plugged it into my computer and it won't recognize it at all. I've put it in different USB ports, unplugged the ipod and obviously the cord. I've tried resetting the ipod and doing everything I can to get the computer to recognize it. What do I do?

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
You need to download and install the latest version of iTunes:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Ambie12, You should probably start a new thread for your issue if downloading iTunes 7.5 doesn't help.

  • New IPod touch not working on Play station / Speaker

I'm having trouble with getting connection from my new ipod (slim) and my docking stations. My old one connects fine but new slim does not...any suggestions?

That is the exact same problem i am having. Exactly on the spot. There is a major bug in this new version and others are having similar problems. I tried going back to the 7.6 version but that didn't work as my library data file was already written with 7.7 The only thing i can think of is wait till another version, as of right now i haven't been lucky in finding a solution. I am still working on it, though and will let ya know if i can solve it. So far i've tried all the solutions that helped in the past, and nothing
it does work with my other ipod so, it seems that iphones and ipod touch are the ones effected at this point. Some people have said that it deleted their library, but that hasn't happened to me so i have no idea whats going on.
