New iPod Touch 64GB not syncing photos

Hi, I am really excited to have have just bought my 2nd iPod (ran out of space on my older, 2nd Gen, 16GB iPod). This one is a 3rd Gen 64GB iPod. I have spent a ton of hrs transferring all my music, movies, contacts, fave sites and links, Kindle and B&N books, calendars etc etc etc.
I went to sync my photos today (and I still have 45.97GB of free space right now) and I keep getting an iTunes box pop up and none of my photos sync at all. The message reads: 'Some photos were not copied to the iPod "name blah blah" because there was not enough room on your computer to hold optimized versions of your photos and albums'. Well, none of the photos were copied, not 'some'....
I have been browsing the forums for tips. Tried deleting the ipod cache files, syncing less photos, creating a specific folder in which to hold the photos I want to sync. Still getting that message. It comes up as soon as I try to sync now.
Please, any advice/tips/help would be appreciated. I would hate to have to go through all the hours I have spent on putting everything on my new 64GB Touch if I have a dud here! Thanks.

I see what's going on now. I was using my backup drive to access the photos and it's almost all used up so it wouldn't do whatever the heck it's supposed to do so I took them off the computer's hard drive instead. Now have to transfer a ton of photos from my backup drive to the hard drive and sync the rest of the photos. Phew!!! Now, I can enjoy my new big girl 64GB iPod!

My new Ipod touch will not sync to my dlink.  My two laptops, and Ipad are already on.  I have tried resetting and still it will not sync.

What happens when you try to connect to the Wi-Fi? Any error messages? Have you tried a hard reset of the iPod?  To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

  • New IPod Touch will not sync with Itunes-updated to iOS 7.1.1 for new IPod

Just purchased new IPod Touch (purchased 6-3-14 - had a Classic until it fried). After setting it up, I tried to sync to ITunes and it says it syncs but does nothing. No music transferred to IPod. I have a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.6.8 if that means anything. This is very frustrating as I am not a computer whiz and really want to use my IPod in my really long commutes to work. Thanks for any insight...

    Hi abbeyesque,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like your iPod touch is recognized and syncing, but it isn't transferring the content that you expect to be transferred. Take a look at the article linked below, it will show you how to select the iPhone in iTunes and where the tabs are (second picture) that control what is synced to the iPod.
iOS: Syncing your data with iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1386
    Sync using USB
    Open iTunes.
Connect the iOS device to your computer using the included USB cable.
Click the Device button in the upper-right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button first.) If you don't see your device, you may need to hide the sidebar. Choose View > Hide Sidebar.
Some tabs may not appear if you don't have the corresponding content in your library. For example, if you don't have any podcasts in your library, the Podcast tab won't appear.
Click Apply, in the lower-right corner of the screen, to sync.

  • New Ipod Touch will not sync correctly

I had an Ipod Classic that was recently stolen, apparently by AirTran employees.  Anyway, I got a new iPod Touch to replace it and it will not sync.
There are problems even getting it to connect.  The first time I got it connected, I thought it synced.  I could see the list of songs, but I couldn't get any of them to play.  I finally realized that they were greyed out and not clickable.
I hooked back up to iTunes and tried again.  It seems like it is syncing some songs, but times out.
Apple Support said to disable the antivirus and firewall on my Windows 7 PC.  This does seem to help some, but it doesn't solve the problem.  I've gotten a lot more songs synced, but not all of them.  It syncs some of them and then stops.
What is more, it always gives a different number of songs to sync.  It has been as high as 900+ and is now down to 121 of 229 and frozen again.  Total songs in my library is about 3000.  I'm guessing that the number (229) is the remaining number of unsynced songs, but I'm not sure.  At times it seems almost random.
Sometimes the sync just stops and sometimes iTunes totally freezes as it has now.  I have the most up-to-date version of iTunes.  I reinstalled it yesterday when I was having problems with my iPad (a totally different issue:  It crashed after I installed OS 5.  That is fixed now though.)

I have run into that problem before, but that is not what I'm currently seeing.
As an update, I finally did get the iPod to sync.  It would time out after syncing for a while, but with repeated syncs it finally loaded my full collection of music, etc.
A recurring problem is that when I want to sync, often the iPod will not show up as being connected to iTunes even though it is connected to the computer.  It often takes multiple attempts at connecting and rebooting to get connected so that I can sync.

  • Brand new ipod touch will not sync?

Bought a brand new ipod touch.  Tried to sync to iTunes on my computer.  Checked all music in library, clicked sync, ipod says it is syncing, computer says sync is complete, but there is no music on the ipod.  Have repeated process a dozen times.  Have tried automatic sync and manual sync.  Have disconnected, reconnected.  Have restarted both devices and tried again.  No error message, gigabytes show nearly nothing used up, on the computer and on the ipod, even after it says the sync was successful/is complete.  Argh, help!?

    Hi jen,
When you say all of the Music is checked, do you mean checked in the library? When you hook up your iPod to the computer, you also have to make sure that the "Sync Music" box is checked on the Music tab for the Device Profile....
    Cheers,

    Have you Authorised your Computer...
Open iTunes and from the Menu Bar select Store...
From the Store menu, choose Authorize This Computer. (In earlier versions of iTunes, access this option from the Advanced menu).
When prompted, enter your Apple ID and password, then click Authorize.

  • Fairly new iPod Touch will not sync or charge sometimes

This has been a problem since the day after I received my iPod from Apple.  Sometimes, when I connect my iPod touch (newest generation, 32GB) to a charging outlet, be it either connected to a computer or the wall, I get the "Charging is not supported with this accessory" error.  I've tried it on different cables and the problem persists. Additionally, oftentimes after receiving this error, if I unhook the iPod and then hook it back up again, it fails to recognize the connection at all (neither the computer nor the iPod respond in any way; the iPod doesn't charge or sync, and the computer doesn't notice that it has been plugged in).
I took it to the Geniuses a few days after this happened for the first time.  They inspected the pins on the connector and decided there was no damage to them.  Eventually, they manually closed all of my apps and performed a hard restart and it would connect properly (the guy was even able to plug and unplug it multiple times with it making a good connection every time).  It was decided that the apps had been the problem and I was sent home.  The problem started happening again the day after that and is pretty much a daily occurence, which is problematic because I generally charge my iPod when I get home from work (and thus only have a few hours each night to try and get it to connect succesfully).  Sometimes the hard reset seems to help, other times it is of no use.
I have tried connecting it to different computers (and, as mentioned above, the wall outlet).  I've tried different charging cables.  There doesn't seem to be any pattern to whether or not it's going to charge, and I don't always get the "Charging is not supported..." error either--occasionally it just refuses to react to being plugged in (and as far as I can tell isn't getting a charge without displaying that it is).  Oh, and it isn't jailbroken, or anything else of the sort... pretty much straight from the factory, with about a dozen apps installed from the app store.  And I checked the last time I could get it to connect to my computer: the software is up to date.
Any ideas on what the problem is and what I should do about it?
