New iPod touch software - How do I get rid of the notification?

I have a pre 'January update' iPod touch.
I have upgrade to iTunes 7.6 and the touch to 1.1.3 but I get a screen asking me to buy the new update. I do not want this software or a least I do not want to pay for this (thats not my argument - but I'm unhappy).
My question is how can I remove this information?
The only options are remind me later or buy it.
I would like to never be reminded about this software again, for the moment to allow me to use my iPod I have selected remind me later.
Please let me know how to fully remove it.

So I am not alone. I sent in the following e-mail to Apple Support. I am not a happy camper for the nag bug and for the way they are treating products still under warranty. If this was just something else in the Store like a game and I could ignore it, I couldn't care less, but a firmware update being forced upon you at a price is actually more like a ransom threat.
"Every time I connect my Touch, I now get this announcement forcing me to either buy a software "update" I don't want to pay for OR to pick an option to be nagged about the update. There is no option to say "No Thanks". I just purchased my Touch. It is still under warranty. How can you now want to force me to purchase this "update". I don't mind the option to be asked once if I'd like to buy new software, but to buy a software update for a product bought less than 30 days ago? Please either make this software "update" free to Touch's under warranty or change it to be offer for an optional new software add-on, but don't force me to buy this firmware. I love my 3rd iPod, but..."

The music should still be in her iTunes Library - the one she uses to put music on the Shuffle. Simply connect the new iPod to that iTunes library, make the choices she wants for syncing the music to the iPod (which I guess, may now include putting all her music onto the iPod, since it has more storage capacity) and press Sync.
Future Syncs with that Library will cause any changes of the Library to be copied to the iPod. Note that music is (or should be) copied to the iPod, not moved. There are two reasons for having the music in the Library:
makes it easier to put the music onto a newer iPod, such as now;
if or when the iPod needs a Restore, which will delete everything from the iPod, you will need to copy "the Library" back onto the same iPod. -
I do not want to update to Lollipop right now. How can I get rid of the notification that wants me to install. It says 'Install Later' or Install Now. I don't want to do either so how can I get rid of this notification that keeps popping up?
You cannot stop it from popping up.
it will continue every few minutes until its installed.

My daughter forgot her passcode on her brand new ipod touch. How do I access it now? The message reads, "ipod disabled". I've tried holding the on/off button and home button until I see an apple. Then asks me to connect to itunes. When trying to connect to itunes, it will not let me as it asks for the ipod touch's passcode (which we do not have!) What next?
Did you use the instructions I provided in the document above? It can be a bit tricky getting the device into recovery mode. Try a few more times.

Update notification remains after update installed. How to I get rid of the notification?
I installed the iPhoto update 9.4.1 but the update notification remains. I've checked iPhoto and it is definitely showing that 9.4.1 is installed.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.5)Try deleting the cache, cookies, and preference files associated wtih the App Store then restart your Mac.
Quit the App Store if it's open.
Now open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy/paste: ~/LIbrary/Caches/com.apple.appstore
Click Go then move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.appstore folder to the Trash.
Type or copy/paste: ~/Library/Cookies
Click Go then move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
Type or copy/paste: ~/Library/Preferences
Click Go then move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
See if that made a difference ... -

For teh 28th time today:
Connect the iOS device to your computer and restore via iTunes. Place the iPod in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the iPod backup that iTunes makes.

How do I get rid of the notification symbol on my iPhoto icon?
I have a Macbook Pro OS X Lion Version 10.8.3. Just bought it May 26, 2013. There is a small red circle with the number 1 on the upper right hand corner of my iPhoto icon that is on my dock. I have tried turning my photo stream on/off several times as well as check all of my photo streams to see if there are any comments/etc... nothing I do has removed it. I've also checked for updates- nothing. Any ideas? It doesn't interfere with the program, it's just annoying to look at
It indicates new photos in a shared photo stream or an invitation to a shared PS. Respond and the notice will go away

I have a app update notification for an app that I never purchased, nor did I download a free one. It wants me to sign in as someone else. I also tried to download the app so I can update it, and it won't allow me to.

What is the easiest way to delete a song or album directly off the iPod? Also, how do I get rid of the tunes it cannot convert so it does'nt run through them every time I upload an album or song?
Right click the song you want to get rid of and there should be a delete button.

The touch screen is not working when I am in the Music app of my iPod Touch. How do I get it to begin working? It just stopped today.

Your iPod touch is not actually authorized to anything other than the computer you sync it with; it is not authorized with the iTunes store the way your computer is. Giving your iPod to someone else won't give them your store info. Once they plug it into their own iTunes, it will force them to erase the whole thing in order to sync it with their own computer.
If you want to wipe the thing clean before giving it to them, plug it into your computer and choose the option to Restore it. (Or on the device itself, to go Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.) -
When my iPod Touch is connected to my Mac, and I select Update to update the software of my iPod Touch, I get a message saying that my iTunes software is current, but it will not update my iPod Touch software. Is there a bug in the iPod program?
