New iPod Touch Wifi won't stay connected?
Just bought new 16 GB iPod Touch, and it won't stay connected to my home WiFi. Even after a reset of network connection, re-enter WiFi info and Touch connects for a few minutes and then loses connectivity even tho WiFi bars still show. Turning WiFi off and on does not fix problem. Turning iPod off and back on will allow Touch to reconnect, but again only for a few minutes at best.
Does the iPod work OK with other networks?
Do other devices work OK?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

My Ipod touch screen won't stay on. Right after turning the ipod on, the screen goes fuzzy.
Is this is sign the battery is a problem? Clicking sounds are also not working despite being tunred on, as well as the speaker.
LTry #2 and #3 in link below. If neither work, you most likely have a hardware issue.

How do i configure safari on new ipod touch - it won't connect to my wifi
How do I configure my husband's new iPod Touch (4th Gen.) for Safari? We have WiFi at home but when I choose our network nothing happens and there seem to be loads more things to fill in none of which I know the answer to! Help!
To connect to a WiFi network you need only enter the password for the network. If DHCP is configured in your router (it normally is) it will fill in all the relevant fields.

Brand new iPod Touch 4G won't reconnect to WPA Enterpise wifi network
I have a brand new iPod Touch 4G. Wifi connection at home, where I have a WPA2 "personal" network, works great. However, at the office, I have a WPA/WPA2 Enterprise network. The network is not hidden, but the only way I can connect to it is via the "Other..." option, because I need to specify WPA Enterprise. This means I need to type in the network name, my userid, and my password to connect to it.
The problem is that after being asleep for about 15 minutes, the iPod is not able to reconnect to the network. When the iPod awakes, it does not automatically connect to the network. When I go to the Wi-Fi Networks setting, I can see the network name in the list. If I click on it, my iPod says, "Unable to hoin the network xxxxx". If I click on the (>) next to the name, I'm given the option to forget the network, which means that the iPod remembers the network, but somehow it can't connect to it. My option is to "forget" the network and re-establish it by hand. Obviously, this is not acceptable.I know WEP is bad, but the other thread implies that some iPods/iPhones running iOS 5.01 show WEP Enterprise as an option. It seems to me that my iPod has a different wifi chip in it, which is why it's broken, even though my iPad running 5.01 works. Maybe the new wifi chip does not support WEP Enterprise? It does offer regular WEP though, so I'm still confused.

the new Ipod touch 5 will not accept the password that is on the router for my wifi. what do I do? there don't seem to be any options and I cannot connect to our Wifi in our home
I agree with the Thomas, in that I think you have mucked up your settings in the AOL account. Your username should be something like - [email protected] Your password is whatever you use as the password.
You could try deleting the account and start over again. Here is a link to a "how to set up AOL email " on the iPad. It is 4 or 5 step process and just make sure that you are entering the correct information in the correct fields in the set up. Among my 4 email accounts on my iPad, I have 2 AOL accounts. I have no problems at all and it was really very easy to set up. There is no reason why AOL email should not work on your iPad.
To repeat and emphasize - Just make sure that you are entering the correct information in the appropriate fields as I think that's where you are making your mistakes.
If I had my choice, I would probably chuck the AOL accounts as well, but I have all the spam filters set as high as I can on the server, and it has cut down tremendously on the spam. Unfortunately - we set up AOL accounts at my workplace years ago and I really hesitate to change them now, so I continue on with these, but like I said, they work fine and they were very easy to set up.

New iPod Touch 2nd gen unable to connect to my network
Please let someone on here be able to help me... please. Dx
I just got my new iPod touch today, plugged it in, put some music on it, tried to connect to my network after it picked it up... and... it won't connect.
I've tried everything I can think of! It wasn't encrypted before, so I encrypted it. I tried using WPA, WEP, and WPA 2... NONE OF THEM WORK.
I've tried resetting, banging my head against the wall, resetting the network settings on my iPod... everything I can think of.
Is there a way to fix this? Please say yes.
Ugh.
One other thing, when I turn it on, go under the network and go under more info or whatever (the blue arrow) under DHCP no IP address shows up. Is that normal?
No, I haven't tried another network yet.
And I am entering the right password for the network.
Message was edited by: GraceTurnerYes, Grace, there are fixes for this. Unlike some people who think there is a "bug", I think you can get this connected.
Router: Check your router for the following settings:
DHCP- On
MAC filtering - off
SSID - on
Encryption - set it to WPA or WPA2 (note, these are not turned on by default)
DNS - obtain from ISP automatically
On the iPod side:
Go to the network connection you have, tap on the blue arrow, tap on forget this network.
Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings and do that.
After your iPod restarts, go to WiFi and type in your Network name. Chose the encryption that matches what is setup on your Router, enter your password. (Note: if you choose WEP, choose 128 bit and enter the hexidecimal key when if prompts for a password)
If you have successfully logged in, you will have a check mark next to your network name. Tap on the blue arrow and look at your settings. You should have your Touch's IP address, subnet mask for the network, the router IP address, and the DNS address(es). -
New iPod Touch 16GB won't start
Hello,
My new iPod Touch won't power on unless I plug it in via the iPod AC power adapter, and then I only get the "cord -> cd/iTunes" image. The second I pull the plug, the screen goes "black" - meaning it shuts off, but I can still see the outline of the previously mentioned image.
I've tried all the recommended solutions I could find. Power + Home button sequence, four different cords (I have a few older edition iPods) + the cord for my own iPod Touch (also new - bought together with my girlfriend - mine works, by the way...)
I would love to reset it via iTunes, but since I can't get it to work without it being plugged in via the AC adapter, that's out of the question. Also tried several USB slots on my computer (those directly tied to the laptop).
Any help or assistance would be nice.. preferably a solution faster than lightning.I've had it on a genuine Apple iPod AC charger for 15-16 hours now, and the instant I unplug it, the screen goes semi-black. Meaning I can still see the outline of the iTunes-connect screen, as it fades away after a few seconds.
No response when connecting to a computer however. I've gotten one explanation saying that it could be that the Touch is completely drained and that that's why it couldn't get a charge via computer. However, I think I've blown that myth into pieces, no?
So is it broken? ...from factory? Sweet. -

My new iphone 6 plus won't stay connected to the internet
I rebooted my phone, reset the internet connection several times, and rebooted my wireless router and it still won't stay connected. Now what?
Can you go to the wifi settings and select your network and "forget" that network? Are you on the latest update? What version of iOS are you using?
From another source:
Others have found that heading into Privacy > Location Services > System Settings (all the way down at the bottom > and turning off Wi-Fi Networking did the trick. -

My new iPod Touch doesn't want to connect with iTunes.
Before, I had an iPod Nano from the second generation, so it was one of the first iPods on the market. Now I got an iPod Touch for my birthday, but when I plug him in on iTunes it says that there's something wrong with the software. I need to deinstall iTunes and that I have to install the latest version (64 bits). The thing is that I have the latest version. And I've deinstalled and installed iTunes at least 10 times now. I still get the same error.
Oh, and I have a laptop from Asus, so I work with Windows (64 bits).. Maybe that's important, I don't know.
I can't wait to finally put some music on my new iPod Touch, please help..
Thanks!Try this:

Touch Generation 5 WiFi won't stay connected
I recently got a new 5th Generation iPod touch. I have a Netgear wireless adapter, and for some reason, when ever I reenter my house, I must restart my wireless so that my iPod can connect to it. However, now, my wireless will keep going out, and I will have to restart my wireless all of the time. Is there any way I can change my wireless settings, so that my iPod will stay connected? (my old 3rd generation had the same problem, but after i restarted the wireless once, it would stay connected until I left the house).
ThanksSo you're saying that it's only your phone that has the wifi problem? Like your friends are using the same wifi as you, but only you lose connection while they don't?
If that's the case, does the wifi have a passcode? And also some wifi networks have a verification before the wifi becomes accessible. For example, you may connect to a wifi network without having to put a password, but then you would need to open Safari and you would need to confirm some things before you're able to use it. Like in college, the wifi is free and open to everyone but only students who have a user and pass are able to access the wifi.
2nd possible solution is to reset your network settings. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. See if that works.
3rd, restart your phone by turning it on/off.
4th, restore your phone on iTunes. -
Ipod Touch G1 won't hold connection to AirPort
Can anyone give me any help in connecting my Touch (update 2.2)to my home network. I have an iMac CoreDuo wit built in Airport networking. Windoze laptops are able to connect to this network just fine from all corners of the house. My touch can't keep the connection when it is connected to the Mac and charging. My internet is a dfs connection.
The touch works fine with other wireless networks..in restaurants and in the public library. Why won't it work with my Mac? Can anyone explain how to set this up? I get full bars in the signal strength but safari cannot open page beause the server stopped responding. I have only once been able to get it to respond, but that was only enough to load the google home page. It never did an actual search...None of the other apps (like weather) that use the internet work either with Airport.Does the iPod connect to other networks?

IOS 6, wifi won't stay connected no matter what I do
I just updated to iOS 6, and it seems it's full of bugs in the wifi department. I can connect to my wifi, it works slowly for about 4 minutes and then it just drops and all apps tell me that there's no internet connection. The wifi signal still shows on the top with full bar, but it just doesn't work. It's like those phony wifi signals you find when you're outside. Is there anything I can do? Is apple on the case?
Try:
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset Network Settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

IPod 5th gen. won't stay connected
I've had this Ipod for almost a year and never had a problem. I just got a new computer and plugged my Ipod in and it asked me if i wanted any problems fixed on it which was recommended. I said yes and now my Ipod won' stay connected. It charges but isn't found in Itunes or My Computer. I downloaded Itunes 10 and did all the recommended troubleshoots but it still won't work. It has the same problem even with my old computer and Itunes. I also now have 6.3 GB in the "other" category of memory now but nothing in songs or videos.
Hi there,
You may want to take a look at the troubleshooting steps found in the article below.
